Chapter 2: Window Platform

He said, "Uum...Matthew, 10th grade right?"."Yes", I replied in confusion.

"State your question, problem, suggestion or favour", he then added without hesitation.

So I pointed to my class and babbled "It's 8:15, miss Lily is in the class", but even before I could finish he interrupted me and said.

"See that grey thing, that's my ladder, use it to get to that platform under the windows and take this to open them without making noise".

To be honest, I was baffled, it was as if he knew everything, perhaps he was an angel sent by God to help me. Maybe or maybe not

Anyways, I did what he had said. I took the ladder, slowly placed it under the window platform and prepared myself to climb up

I looked around first because I was nervous but right before my foot touched the ladder I saw something.

I then focused on that tall dark green shadow moving across the flower garden in a hurry.

He was speed walking at such high speeds as if he was in a death race.

From afar, it looked like Bob and he was heading towards me. Phew! That's a relief I thought he was Jerry the other gardener, he's mean.

Mean people always scare away children. But I got rodents to back me up, many people hate rodents.

"Boy, what's wrong afraid of breakin' some bones at 15?", he asked as he closed in to support the ladder.

"Heh heh", I laughed actually as I started to climb up with caution.

Soon I reached the window platform and crouched to avoid unnecessary attention.

I then poked my head to look around and make sure nobody's watching. Everyone was paying attention except that one backbencher.

"Classic student move there". I complimented.

It was Mae, she instead was looking at me. I could see the laughter in her eyes.

To be honest, she looked kinda evil with that smirk on her face but I didn't bother so then I whispered to her.
