Chapter 37: The Great Vampire Witch.

*BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *DUDUDUDUDU*

"Even though I said I wasn't worried… I'll feel bad if I didn't do anything after he got me food…" Stella muttered ignoring the sound of guns being fired.

There she stood in front of the gate, two guards knocked out beside her. She had her hands crossed and her head tilted while making puzzled contemplated eyes.

"Ah… I came to here to warn him but…"

*Bang!*

"Looks like it's started… Should I help him? Doesn't seem like he needs it…" She muttered.

She had noticed earlier when they were eating that there were some guys outside of the restaurant who had their sights on them. She didn't really expect them to actually bring them to a battle field. She traced their location using magic and ended up here.

"Yep, I should help. Not for him but for my precious sleep." Said Stella as she stretched her hand out towards the gate.

Her hand stopped inches away from the door before she pulled it back and looked to the right.

"So you've finally decided to show yourself…" She muttered before pointing her finger at the corner by the right.

A small cut could be seen on the tip of her index finger, just beneath her nail before it quickly closed up and healed.

"So you were aware?" The person asked as he walked out of the corner.

'The voice of a man?'

The person wore an unusual uniform. It was long and white and in perfect condition, not a speck of dirt could be seen. That was what made it unusual.

The person had bluish green hair above it's masked face. On the right side of the mask, place right over the eyes was the design of a spade, while on the left side there was the design of a heart. The bottom side of the mask had a black curved line representing a grin.

"It's hard not to notice, isn't it? Jester." She asked with a cold smile.

"To think that you've heard of me… I feel honored… Great witch… Or should I say… Vampire." Replied The Jester.

Blood lust slowly began leaking away from Stella as her eyes slowly turned red.

"I'll say this once. Turn back." Said Stella.

The jester, stopped for a moment before resuming his march as he said.

"You know I can't do that… My little egg is about to hatch after all." Said Jester as he turned to the right, staring at the walls separating him from the gunfire and shots on the other side.

'So he is after Asper… How long? Don't tell me he's been waiting waiting for him to reach level 30?'

Once she finally realized it, she chuckled.

"Ah… This really pisses me off. I didn't expect you to be a rookie killer." Said Stella as she placed her palm on her face.

Rookie-killer, a term associated to people who killed and targeted new artifact holders. It was something common in the artifact world, newcomers were an easier target after all since they didn't know much.

This was just one of the things which Stella hadn't told Asper, the reason being she didn't think there would be another artifact holder in the city and so it would be pointless. There was also the fact that he wasn't level thirty yet.

Rookie-killers didn't go for artifact holders beneath level thirty. There was a good reason for this.

"Of course I'm one. After all…" He gave a little chuckle as the grin on his mask seemed to widen. "It's a free artifact and skill."

The reason they didn't kill artifact holders beneath level thirty was due to the safe-zone cap. If one were to kill an artifact holder before level thirty, they wouldn't receive any experience and the artifact would be destroyed along with the skill before it could be absorbed.

This was a restriction which applied to everyone. Only an artifact user below level thirty could kill another one below level thirty and gain rewards.

"Is that so." Said Stella as she took off her hair ties, remove her twin tails and causing her long silver hair to flow freely in the process. It seemed to dazzle, highlighting her already remarkable beauty.

Her deep crimson blood red eyes seemed to glow brighter and brighter as her pupil went from a circular to a slit shape.

"Oh~ As expected of the vampire witch, she's as beautiful as they-"

Jester was interrupted as Stella suddenly appeared in front of him before grabbing onto his face mask and slamming his head down into the ground beneath him.

"Quiet." Said Stella with cold eyes as she dug his head further into the ground

[Teleport]

*CRASH!*

Beneath the mask, jester's eyes widened as he noticed that the scenery around them changed. They were suddenly inside of the broken ruins. The instant they had teleported, she smashed his head into a concrete wall.

[Teleport]

*CRASH*

Again, smashed it into a glass window before tightening her grip on the cracked masked and unleashing fiery hot flames from her hand as she muttered. "Burn."

*BURST!*

Flames burst out of her hand passing right through the man's head.

[Teleport]

Right before he could process what had hit him, they were suddenly teleported high up into the air before she let him go. She remained floated up in the air as two lances made of ice were formed beside her.

[Ice lance.]

The lances quickly turned, pointing towards the falling man, before they were suddenly propelled at him.

They moved at insanely high speeds, piercing him in seconds. Both landed.

[Freeze]

His whole body suddenly froze in cold stiff ice once it reached the ground with the lances still impaled in him.

[Break.]

The man's body and ice suddenly broke into pieces upon her command.

[Teleport.]

She teleported back down to where the shards had fallen.

'Too easy, a dummy?' She wondered.

*Whistle~*

"That could've been bad."

Stella's let out a sigh once she noticed his voice coming from behind. She quickly turned back only to see Jester standing there with a cracked mask.

'I knew it. No wonder it felt too easy.' She added.

Confused as she had never loosed her grip on his face, she looked back down only to see that she had been holding only to see that all the ice pieces had been replaced by flowers. Or rather, it was never ice in the first place.

She let go of the flowers and they quickly withered.

"It seems you are truly worthy of your title. Those were all low level spells but to be able to use all these elements

'The Jester mark… A mark which defy's logic. No, defying it is an understatement, it treats logic as if it were a joke. The worst match for a magician like me.' She thought to herself.

"Enough talking…" Said Stella as she took off her cloak. "I'll tear that mask off of you." She added with cold eyes. They way she looked at him amounted to the look you'd give a bug.

Suddenly, ruins and scribbles began circling around Stella as she mumbled words. She was casting spells, but not just one… It was multiple.

*Snap*

———————————

"Target on scope. Requesting permission to shoot?" Asked the man.

A young man on the scope. He was the youngest in the gang and was only scouted due to his potential as a marksman. Mark of the gunsmith. With any firearm on his arm, he's bound to never miss.

[Yeah, shoot.]

*BAANGG!*

The bullet flew through, hitting Asper head on causing him to fall over and slide across the floor.

"Target hit."

The other four hunters who were in front of him, had just about finished recovering and quickly put their sights on Asper.
