Chapter 11: Having Fun Fixing and Making II

I relax and stare at all the new starships I have made. I have created the blueprints for them all with the supplies available in the workshop. I could continue to design, but you can have too much of one thing. I've only been working for about 5 hours, and I'm still not ready to get off. I bet I've still got a couple more hours till I need to get off for food.

I stand up from the chair and save all the projects. A little chip comes out of the work table, and I take it. It's a flash drive of all the things I worked on. I place it in my inventory, and I leave the room. I walk back out into the living room, and my curiosity gets the better of me. I walk over to the computer in here. I already know how it works. When I first walked into the room, it was disassembled, just like everything else I look at.

I sit down and see that it needs a password to access. I scoff, and I pull up the command prompt and start inserting line after line of code. Whoever their daughter is, she has a real talent when it comes to encryption. If I didn't have all the traits I do have, I'd never get close to breaking it. The desktop pops up as I enter the last command. I see all the things their daughter has on her computer.

I don't think they'd like me going through her stuff, but I'm using this for an entirely different reason. I look for what this universe has as an internet. After a couple of seconds, I find what I'm looking for, and a search engine pops up. The first thing I'm going to look up is Empyrian and its history. It is the world all us players start on, after all.

I enter the topic into the search bar, and many different links pop up. I click the first one, and I see countless articles. Some are very new, and others are very old. The first thing I search for is Empyrian's age. As I scroll, I absorb any information I see, anything my eyes see. Everything gets memorized, and the puzzle begins to assemble itself as I read and scroll.

The first settlement ever made on Empyrian was in the galactic year of 14,880,918. Considering what I know about the Primordium, this number is very young. I remember that the Primodium race was the first trans-galactic race and did it billions of years before the next, which was the Melinore. I should separate the history of my race from others.

By using simple extrapolation, the current galactic year is 144,040,219. So in the scale of post multiple species at the trans-galactic level, Empyrian is old. I close my eyes and go through all the information I saw in a methodical manner—history of wars, people, events. The most prevalent is the superiority war.

It was in the year 39,990,145 and kept raging till 41,665,327. It amazes me a war lasted 1,675,182 years. It ended with the treaty of New Bastian, a main chain world where peace talks began. This is all tied to Empyrian because the first battle that officially started the war was held in this system. 6 planets orbit C-Platon, the resident star. Only Empyrian is habitable here. It was once a world of great interest when it was found.

After the continued exploration of this galaxy, Impyra, it became less relevant over time. Apparently, there are many main chain worlds in different galaxies, but this site didn't speak about main chain worlds often. I stop searching through information in my head and leave the rest to sit there another time to search through. I want to learn some things about Newton-14, the city I'm in.

Going through those articles revealed that there are other cities on Empyrian, and they are number 1 through 22. All using Newton, I theorized as much. I exit this site and search for any information on Newton-14. The sites load, and I click on the first one. I scroll through the articles as my mind takes the information. After reading all of them, I lean back and start going through them in my head.

The history of Newton-14 quickly forms, and I learn much about it. The most interesting being the space-port I'm currently in. It's one of two on this entire planet, and Empyrian is exactly 1.76 times the size of an earth-sized planet. This makes a lightbulb go off in my head. I want to see the history of humanity in The Aeternus Universe.

I quickly leave the site and search up the trans-galactic history of humanity. I click on the first site, and I begin to read. What I read disgusts me. I can't say I'm surprised, just extremely disappointed. Humanity was the one that started the superiority war in the year 39,990,145. From the articles, humanity was extremely xenophobic against any non-human-looking aliens.

They succeeded in starting the war because many races believed them to be the Primordiums descendants since they looked so alike. When in fact, they had no relation to the Primordium. I turn off the computer as I continue to go through the information in my head. After the war ended in 41,665,327, humanity was punished by the rest of the races.

They were given a bill of damage they still haven't paid off yet, and humanity is no longer allowed to participate in high republic talks. That's the government that runs the know trans-galactic network, effectively being ostracized. Still to this day, 102,374,892 years later. I sit on the couch and stop thinking about this subject. It's depressing, really. I may not be human in this universe, but I am on earth out of this game.

I stare at the ceiling above me, processing the lore in this universe. I now know I'm in the galaxy called, Impyra. In a system orbiting a G2V main-sequence star by the name of C-Platon. On the only habitable planet of Empyrian. There is still so much to uncover, and to say it's both overwhelming and exciting is accurate. I hear a buzzing noise coming from the door, and I walk up to it and open it. Meiklare is on the other side with a smile.

She is holding a plate of delicious-looking food. It is alien, though. "Are you hungry after working so hard on the ships? Pleiknor is having a field day with all you've done for us. It's really impressive, Scott. You are exceptional for a human." I take the plate of food with a smile. They must not know I'm a Primordium. This is perfect.

It could bring lots of trouble if word got out. "C'mon on in. I was just about to turn on the holo-terminal to see what's on." I invite her in as I take the food to the couch with me. She smiles and shakes her head with calm grace. She explains to me she still has to help Pleiknor with the ships. "When you guys are done, let me know. I might go around the city later, and if I'm not back, wait for me." She nods her head and leaves.

The sliding door closes behind her, and I sit on the couch with the food. I turn on the holo-terminal and go to the galactic new station. An interesting segment is playing. It's about a rising threat to the peace. A rebellion that has swept through many systems and sectors.

I lean forward in my seat as I listen. A human is the one speaking. "The Poxtrum rebellion has progressed even further this week, taking many systems in the Impyra galaxy. The Poxtrum system is also building a massive fleet, and it's obvious they are doing so to take on The High Republic of the United Races. As you can see from our correspondent footage, they are building starships and mech suits by the dozens." That's another thing I need to check out, mechs and their roles in The Aeternus Universe.

My immediate questions are they space-flight capable? Are they only used on the ground? Are they used in space combat? I have plenty more questions but nothing to go on right now. I know the next thing I'm asking, Pleiknor.

The news segment footage is too grainy and blurry for me to see the mechs clearly from a distance it's being shot at. If I could clearly see them, I could disassemble them in my head. They are just blurry blobs right now. "The High-Republic of United Races has yet to respond to the aggressive expansion of the Poxtrum rebellion. We will update you if any news from Delmore-2 develops. The High-Republic is supposed to have their normal meetings on the capital main chain world in the Yeliore system." The new information he gives is stored in my head. I just learned even more. This game gets more and more interesting.
