Chapter 2: — Luna

𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐍'𝐒 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐃 the room, searching for the source of the intoxicating lavender smell that filled his nose. His wolf paced with excitement, causing Lucian himself to lose his control. The beast inside of him searched for his mate, the light to his darkness.
Standing in the expensive black tux with a wine glass in one of his hands, Lucian's forest green looked for the woman meant for him alone. His attention was long lost from the political discussion going on around him.
He had turned 20, two years ago, and it was time that he found his Luna. Hope was slipping away from his heart as the days went by and he remained mateless. His house didn't feel like home without his woman. The empty closets stared at him, the rooms for their pups unfilled and the smile of his mate missing. He wished to wake up to someone meant for him.
And now, the person was nearer than ever.
Lucian walked away from the conversation, not caring that it might be rude since he was the Alpha. His body followed the scent, his pace increasing as it's strength increased. It was the most magical scent he had ever smelled.
His pack made way for the Alpha, bowing to him in respect but his attention wasn't on them. All he wanted to do is to find her.
And that he did.
She was standing in a long blood red gown, with her strawberry blonde hair tied up in a neat bun. Red lipstick decorated her soft lips and her dark brown eyes radiated warmth that drew him to her. She was a beauty crafted for him by the Goddess and he admired every inch of her.
As if sensing him, her eyes snapped to meet his and widened at the realization of his presence. They stared at each other from the distance, a smile on their handsome faces.
Lucian walked towards her, their eyes never breaking the stare. He was spellbound by her beauty - he couldn't have asked for someone better. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer.
She gasped in response and her fair face turned rose red in response. She looked adorable while she blushed.
"What's your name, 𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑐𝑎 𝑚𝑒𝑎 [my love]" Lucian asked her in Latin. The wolves had their own language like the other mythical creatures in the world.
His mate looked at him with a flushed face and he loved her shyness. He was sure that she would make a wonderful Luna. The kindness she emits would be one that makes people accept her.
"Mia... my name is Mia," his mate replied in her sweet voice. It was like melodious song to him and he could listen to it every single day for the rest of his life.
"Mia...." he said after her. The name fitted perfectly on his lips.
"Call me Lucian," he told her.
"Lucian," she replied as she copied him. Listening to his name from her mouth sounded so sensuous that his wolf purred in approval. He wished nothing more to make her scream his name on the top of her lungs as he fucked her under the moon and the stars.
Like all the wolves out there, he was eager to mark his mate. He would love nothing but to see him carry her mark on her neck, proudly, and all the unmated wolves wouldn't dare to raise their eyes on her.
"From which pack you are?" he asked.
"𝑇𝑒𝑟𝑟𝑎." she replied.
It made sense - she looked like one too. The wolf community was divided into five packs - 𝐼𝑔𝑛𝑖𝑠 [fire], 𝐴𝑞𝑢𝑎 [Water], 𝑇𝑒𝑟𝑟𝑎 [Earth], 𝑉𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑢𝑠 [Wind] and 𝑅𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑢𝑠 [Royal]. Lucian was the Alpha of 𝐼𝑔𝑛𝑖𝑠 with his dark hair and forest green eyes. The pack members didn't necessarily possess some definite character features but, they all had the elemental powers matching the pack they belonged to.
The 𝑅𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑢𝑠 [Royal] pack possessed the power to produce ice. They have been ruling the werewolf community over the past two centuries and were very powerful.
"That's why I couldn't recognize you. Well, we better talk to Rafael then. We don't want your Alpha growing crazy over a packmate missing, do we?" he said.
She nodded, blush never leaving her beautiful face.
He took her hand and then walked her away from the crowd. He had mind linked his Beta, Dante, to inform Alpha Rafael about the whole ordeal.
"Where are we going?" Mia finally asked.
He turned to her with a huge grin on his face.
"Home."
