Chapter 42: XLII
"You should leave. I will come up with a plan. All you need to do is recover your health fully so that you could be ready for whatever plan I come up with," he ordered her dismissively.
Aurora obeyed him after that and returned to her room. She stepped into the room with a sad expression.
Her maid who was cleaning the room up walked up to her. It was easy to see the tears threatening to fall out of her master's eyes.
"You can go as soon as you are done cleaning up," Aurora ordered Helen as she walked to her bed and fell on the soft bed.
"Princess . . .," Helen began worriedly but stopped when she looked at her master who closed her eyes without paying any attention to her.
She left as soon as she was done cleaning the room up.
Aurora opened her eyes when she heard the door closed. She sat up on her bed and stared around.
There are many things she could undergo to please the Alpha to ensure no harm comes to her people.
She slowly stood up from her bed and walked to the window of her room. She opened the window and stared at the courtyard below.
It was slightly busy since it around time the masters had just eaten their breakfast.
She did not like the ideology of remaining in the palace without doing anything. Her reputation was now bad although it has never been good either.

"His Majesty ordered me to take complete control of everything," a tall bulky young man informed his close subordinates.
"Your highness, do you still think that is the best way to punish the offender?" an older man asked displeased.
"It is only right that I make the proper decision as the Beta of this pack and the prime minister of this kingdom."
Giving no more heed to the objection of the lower ranked officials, the young man walked out of the meeting room.
The older man who warned him looked at the other men at the table and clinched his fist.
He wondered why he was the only one among the dozen of older men at the table who was not in support of the Beta's plan.
They were all in support of the war and expansion of the kingdom so what will bringing a woman to the kingdom as an exchange for peace do to their kingdom?
It will only compicate things and put a stop to their planned war.
They were all greedy for an expansion and the increment of the kingdom which will equally increase their wealth too.
They will get more slaves to order around although getting slaves have never been a problem to them.
The thought of an expansion will increase their nobility and power because of the increment in the number of citizens.

The king listened to what his subordinate had decided to do.
He nodded in agreement although he was sure he was going to keep his promise of halting his expansion as soon as they arrival in their kingdom.
"Why did you decide to come with such solution?" he asked his young Beta who had been with him ever since he was a young werewolf.
It was funny how the boy he took care of was looking as though they were the same age now.
"I am aware of the Alpha's silence," dropping to his knees before his king and Alpha, the beta replied with his head bowed and his chin pressed against his chest.
The King who was alone in his room with his Beta looked around and inhaled deeply to observe his environment and search around for the presence of any other.
He picked the cup of wine beside him and threw it towards his Beta. The cup did not miss as it hit the Beta where he wanted it to.
"How dare you say such words from you mouth?! Do you want to lose your tongue?!"
The Beta clinched a fistful of his garment and closed his eyes trying to reduce the trembling of his body.
"I . . . am so . . . sorry, your majesty," the Beta pleaded as he prayed that no matter what he had to go through, his head most remain on his neck.
Seeing his Beta's sorry, shaky and scared state simply made him more furious.
Why will you take the risk to say such a thing even when you know you could lose your life for that?
"Your health will only deteriorate in her absence after the injury she left on you, your majesty," the beta continued forcefully.
The king this time, picked the jug and threw it at his Beta.
The water splashed on the young man's hair and upper body while the silver jug fell on the floor with a clang.
When the echo of the loud sound ended, the king listened and inhaled again to satisfy his paranoid self.
"I am sorry," the Beta apologized for the words he spoke as he leaned forwards and kowtowed.
Watching his beta whose head was deeply bowed, the king was very displeased.
This young man really took after him with so much confidence that he made sure to speak his mind no matter what might befall him by doing so.
"Get out! If I hear any of what was spoken in here outside, I will have your head severed and hung on the city gate," the king made sure to let enough coldness and firmness resonate in his voice.
The beta slowly kowtowed once again before standing up and walked out of the room slowly but careful not to arouse the anger of the king.
The king has been in a very bad mood lately that people were getting hurt due to it and it might affect the kingdom as a whole.
He had to do what he could to bring the wolf of the king, the Alpha out.
His wolf which was closest to the Alpha has noticed for weeks now that the Alpha has been lying silent in the king like he was in hibernation.
