Chapter 10: Lucian's plan [1]

'The helmet Is reacting to something,' Lucian noticed, and he was about to find out why.

Since he regained consciousness in the middle of nowhere 800 years ago, Lucian thought that something wasn't right. He didn't how know ended up on a different continent, and he only remembered the event that happened before he lost consciousness and after he lost consciousness.

However, based on his observation, 200 years passed by before he regained consciousness and he couldn't really remember what happened during that time. He suspected that the helmet took possession of him

In the first place, relics appeared after the manifestation of the Abyss, yet he obtained the helmet before the Great Cataclysm.

For the time being, he had to go to the top of the tower, to the crystal city where the emperor was residing. If his guess was right, something or someone there was connected to his past.

He was also interested in finding out more about the new technology that humans acquired and developed to be usable in various things. Such as automated vehicles, which used a certain source of power that let them float and move forward. There must be a couple of geniuses in this city.

Lucian was heading toward a pillar-like structure inside the tower. He guessed that it was some kind of elevator reserved for important people as he saw that all of the visitors and other residents had to use other means of transportation, mostly automated vehicles.

"Choupyu~~"

Suddenly, a strange looking stood in front of him as he was walking.

"…" Lucian knew that he didn't have any problem with his vision, but the mysterious woman in front of him was literally in black and white.

Her right eye was pitch black. Her hair was pitch black. Her fluffy dress was pitch black. Her little umbrella was pitch black. Even the weird eye patch covering her left eye was pitch black.

And in contrast to this, her skin was pure white, almost as if she was made of porcelain.

She made a strange movement with her fingers in front of her right eye, as if they were scissors.

"Choupyu~ I like your style," the mysterious girl said, continuing with her weird gestures.

"Thank you," Lucian replied, knowing that girl was talking about the fabric that was covering his eyes.

"See you~"

The girl left after saying these words and Lucian looked at her as she disappeared into the crowd. What an interesting human, he thought.

She was completely different from Rita. Despite how she looked, Lucian knew that she was also more powerful than the average human, and she was also very observant.

Continuing his stride, Lucian was now close to the pillar, but as expected, it was heavily guarded.

However, whether such a thing could stop him or not, was their problem and not his.

"Hey you, this area is off-limit for visitors," one of the guards standing in front of an entrance said.

These guards were wearing full body armor that looked extremely light, yet extremely tough because they were made of Stellarium. They were probably relic users too.

Of course, all of that didn't matter, but Lucian always observed and analyzed everything that appear in his field of vision.

"Stop! This is your last warning!" The guards yelled, taking a battle stance and readying their swords. "This is a violation of the city's rules."

These swords were not made of only Stellarium but the edge of the swords began to be enveloped by a faint light, showing that the edge was heating up. So, in addition to being light, and sharp, these swords were also made to cut everything easily.

This would indeed increase the damage inflicted by the swords while fighting monsters.

Even after seeing the swords, Lucian didn't stop and didn't even look interested.

"Stop!" The guards said and rushed at Lucian, seeing that he was close to the entrance.

Lucian didn't stop even after seeing them.

The fact that no one noticed that someone at Lucian's level had arrived in this city showed that all of the people here were inferior, and considering that they were about to challenge the Abyss, that wasn't a good sign.

He seriously needs to gauge the current power of the entire human race.

They will be of no use to him inside the Abyss most of them were weaker than the average mutated monsters. Forget becoming a superior human, Lucian would end up babysitting all of these people.

His goal for coming to this city was to gather all of the strongest people that have the highest chance of becoming superior humans.

Swoosh! One of the guards swung his sword at Lucian but…

Crash! Before the sword could even touch Lucian, the guards were propelled against the wall, even though Lucian was just walking.

The guards tried to stand up but suddenly they couldn't breathe, holding their throats until they lost consciousness.

Lucian was now in front of the entrance, and he knew that it could only be opened from inside by activating some kind of artifact.

People began to panic after they saw what Lucian was doing.

"Who is that guy?"

"What happened?"

"He fought these guards?"

However, this was good, Lucian thought. His plan was already in action. And for the sake of his goal, it was necessary to remove the useless elements. But he first needed to gather all of them in one place.

And even if he didn't have any plan, Lucian didn't need to justify his action to inferior beings, like a human who didn't have to give a justification for their action to an ant.

And he already knew what would happen even if he asked permission for humans to meet the Emperor or wander around the imperial place. It was pointless.

Humans might appear to be complex creatures, but they were pretty simple when it comes to these things.

To attract their attention, one must just make a flashy entrance, make a great speech and do a demonstration of power.

"…" Lucian knew how stupid that sounded, but the fact that it would certainly work made it even worse.

After standing a few seconds in front of the door, Lucian continued to move forward but the door began to curve inward as if extreme pressure was pressing it from the outside until it was finally forced open.

More and more guards rushed at Lucian as he entered the place, all trying to kill him on the spot.

Although there were low-level relic users among them that could create fire, lighting, or turn their bodies into various kinds of metal, it didn't matter. All of them were blasted away when they approached Lucian.

No one could tell what kind of invisible force he used, but the people visitors and the personnel who were present there began to panic and ran for their lives

Lucian ignored them, instead, he noticed that the numbers of people who possessed relics were fewer than he expected, and most of them were low-level.

"…" Then, Lucian saw an elevator from afar, and it was about to depart.

But other armored guards were already surrounding him, yet he continued to act as if he didn't see them. Killing them would be easy, but it was meaningless.

"Hold him here!" The one who looked like the leader of these guards shouted. He had a red cape attached to his armor, unlike the other soldiers.

Swoosh!

Suddenly, Lucian disappeared, although he was completely surrounded from every direction.

"Where is he?! Where did he go?!" The guards looked at the person next to them, wondering if they were seeing the same thing.

"Search for him!! Don't let him get away!" The leader ordered, and the soldiers began to search the place.

And while the guards were searching for Lucian, a rich merchant suddenly saw him standing inside the elevator which looked like a luxurious room.

"Wh-who are you?" The merchant asked in bewilderment.

Various people were inside the elevator but only Lucian looked out of place. He was sitting on a chair, holding a glass of wine in his hand.

"At least the wine is good," Lucian muttered, his words carrying a hint of sarcasm.
