Chapter 3: ...Lightning forked toward the dry earth, the white light streaking across the sky as if bony fingers reached into the purpling cloud.
As I lay there in that void of Empty space the feeling of being relaxed started to flow away as the reality of that extremely weird lightning strike and the even weirder events preceding it came to the forefront of my consciousness, and I started to think about where I was, if I was dead, it was rare for a person to survive a lightning strike even less likely after being struck in my heart. Then came the headache initially it was small pressure like someone or something pressing down on my head from all sides and then it kept growing reaching a tipping point after which it started to feel like sharp rods were being thrust into my head and suddenly the pain in my head intensified even more till it felt like my head was being struck by lightning strikes now over and over again. Then the purple haze rushed into me causing shocking pain where ever it touched and started getting absorbed into my body caused the same shocks inside me while the green haze expanded outward and away become less haze and more solid till it formed a greenish blue dome that was slowly expanding and shimmering. As soon as all the purple haze was all absorbed in my body suddenly all the pain stopped, the relaxing feeling came back again and my body was now releasing the purple haze more like it was being formed a few millimeters away from my body and just drifting outward as more and more was being formed.
This is where it gets really weird as now I had all the memories of my life, my life I was living in the original reality that I was in till last night when I saw the 14th Episode of the 5th season of a certain superhero deemed the fastest man alive in the year 2019, almost 13 years in the future and in this timeline the last thing I remember was going to sleep after watching the TV show and the earliest thing I remembered was seeing her on the day of the interview walking into that room. In my memory none of this weird stuff happened, no sweating, no nervousness, no twitching muscles, no burning nerves, nothing, just a little warm feeling in my heart, which I guess is normal. Instead of that head smashing ball hitting me and then the lightning strike, I had instead turned in time to hit the ball up in the air with proper timing and then jumped and kicked it towards the other team's goal where my teammate had lightly deflected it into the goal, scoring the only goal of the match and winning us the game, also establishing myself in the school in front of everyone in class.
But now I had these 2 entirely different set of memories in my head that I didn't know what to do with, and this was the beginning of what would come to be known as the term Awakening, even then it was a unique awakening among all the known ones. Not even considering that it was also the 1st one recorded approximately 3 years before the 1st batch of them that happened on a large scale and 1 year before the earliest ever recorded outliers. But that is all in the future, my awakening would be deemed unique for the sole reason that it wasn't instantaneous, as a matter of fact I was the only one recorded till date whose power kept growing in a more progressive and continuous manner to become stable as compared to everyone else who grew in power, as they all grew in sudden bursts of rare breakthroughs outside of getting more effective or efficient in using their abilities.
As I considered these memories of the entirely different life I had lived, it seemed pretty normal and had all the comics, Movies, and TV Shows that had suddenly vanished from my current reality. I recognized these as signs of some self insert "Isekai" story that someone with more time and patience than me would have written about. Now that I was living it there was more to it than just enjoying this new life. If I actually had survived that lightning strike and was right now stuck in this dome filling with the purple haze, which had also made me realize I wasn't actually breathing and for all the good that would do, I wouldn't suffocate to death when the haze filled the entire dome and I ran out of air. As I was going through all my memories nothing seemed familiar to anything I had read or seen before. All I could really tell of my current situation was that dome seemed to be getting bigger at a faster rate but the purple haze was increasing at a rate quite a bit faster than the Dome was growing. Since I wasn't breathing and my heart wasn't beating and there this complete silence and no sense of time only the increase of the haze in respect to the Dome was giving me a concept of time passing and since I myself couldn't move I couldn't tell if the time passing slowly or quickly.
The next point of reference for me came when the purple haze completely filled up the Greenish blue dome. The light from the dome was still coming through the haze but the haze was now becoming denser and the glow of the colour of the dome was fading till all that was left was the purple haze. And then the haze became a completely solid mass, I could now see nothing but the void of purple around me and then it started creeping back in towards me and it went in through my nose into my lungs and I took a deep breath of the haze suddenly getting a feeling of drowning in it and it continued to pour in and get absorbed into my blood through the lungs and now I could suddenly feel this haze which felt like a liquid flowing through my body, every single drop of it flowing through the blood and reaching into every little corner, drowning every single cell, increasing the dreaded feeling of drowning like I felt when I thought I was drowning in my neighborhood swimming pool when I was 8 and learning to swim.
