Chapter 2: The Dilemma

While Susan lay unconscious, Samuel was in major dilemma. He loved Susan a lot but deep inside he felt he was never the right person for Susan. He was a party animal & alcoholic. He wanted to overcome the addiction, which was one of the reasons for marrying Susan. He gave them both 1 year, and believed that this marriage would give him the needed distraction.

But 3 months into this marriage and he realized that Susan deserved a more better person than him. Though he never hit her while being drunk, he did remember the verbal abuses he had thrown on her. Sometimes things went out of control & he felt Susan will leave him but the next morning Susan would be as usually wishing him good morning with a cheerful smile as if nothing happened the previous night.

Samuel had tried to restrain himself from alcohol due to his inner guilt & he had succeeded to certain extent , but still he felt he was no match for a good soul like Susan. More than love, he respected her and felt it was the right time to let her move on rather than make him dependent on her.

Intact to help her move on , he had enacted the whole scene of having an affair on their first anniversary instead of giving her a surprise party.

But now that he was going to be a father, how could he leave Susan at this stage, he couldn't decide. Just then, Susan woke up & she realized seeing herself on the bed with doctor nearby & said to Samuel, " So I guess , you know now".
