Chapter 38: Felt like it
"There's nothing here."
I was still currently at Paigos, and we had told Kalthok to that we wanted to search for dungeons to raid, surprisingly or not there was one not far from here, but it was too low leveled.
"Bah! Snow Goblins, who knew there was a variation of white skinned goblins."
And as usual, I let Aria carry me even though I could solo it but she did act as a tutor as this was my first live dungeon raid.
"That should be the last chamber."
"Let's go then."
We both pushed the doors of this chamber, as the author of this novel, of course I should have a good explanation of this world, well no, as for the dungeons, I just said there are dungeons where Leon would get his skills, powers or anything he needs.
"Bah! It's just an overgrown skeleton!"
But if there is one thing, I learned, this dungeons had a core, break the core, break the dungeon, that was it, I didn't listen to any of the explanations as I always let Emily do my homework.
Right now there was a weird goblin, I've seen pictures of goblin but this? He looked like he was a goblin but a human? Did they breed?

I touched Aria's shoulders.
"Let's listen what he has to say."

The Humanoid green thing slowly walked towards us, with eyes that looked tired, he was malnourished, chains on his arms and neck, he smelled like piss.
"I know, I'm sorry! I'm sorry for terrorizing the villages! Please Kill me now! I've been here for a century already!"
"Who are you?"
I had to ask, this was the first time I'd seen this, of course me and Aria had already projected two blades above his head just in case something goes wrong.
"I'm! just kill me and end my misery!"
"Stay there! One more step and We'll leave immediately!"

This was a first, he was begging for us to kill him yet somehow.
"Then tell us, why are you here and why is there a dungeon!"
"This!"
"Let's leave!"
"Wait! I will tell you! But kill me after!"

"As you know dungeons are locations where spiritual energy bleeds into our world, physically altering the building/cavern/ or even an entire forest into a labyrinth of monsters and horror."
"That is right."
I looked at Aria who nodded, I didn't know this since like I said I usually slept through my classes.
"And These Dungeons are often tied to a powerful spirit, who's emotional pain was enough to bring it into being in the first place. Destroying the "Core" of a Dungeon can set the spirit to rest and return the world to the state it was before!"
"And you know this because it inherent to you're the spirit of this dungeon?"
"Yes, but you're probably wondering why I can do this when I'm weak right?"
[ He's stalling, I can sense his collecting mana from the ground, be careful]
'Alright.'
I immediately looked at Aria who nodded, looks like she also noticed the phenomenon.
"Well its because-"
The goblins head immediately got cut off and blood spurted, I could see the core in his breast and stabbed it immediately with a projection.
When it shattered the dungeon immediately began crumbling, we immediately rushed outside, once we were out we could see the terrain morph back into a white plain filled with snow, the process took around ten minutes as this was the first time I've seen and heard it in action.
"Are there any other reasons why dungeons are formed?"
I looked at Aria who nodded but she then hit the back of my head with the hilt of her sword.
"When I said to let Emily do the work I meant the financial side of things! How stupid are you that you had to ask a named monster about dungeons!"
"How'd"
"Shut up!"

"This is just one of those dungeons formed by malicious thoughts of strong monsters that died without having their wishes fulfilled, of course that doesn't apply to monsters that were killed, the monsters that spawned dungeons were formed naturally and died naturally yet unwillingly, most of these dungeons are created by sentient or named beasts or monster."
We slowly walked, even though it was cold our mana was covering us so it really wasn't that cold, I just continued listening.
"What about the other ones?"
"A lot of races live underground and It's easier to hide under the ground than it is above it, especially if the said race doesn't have any advantages, though you won't see dungeons like this in Paigos or Abella, but probably in other continents."
We then sped up as the base and Rindilian was not far from here and the sun was already setting.
"But, though I've only come contact into it once."
"What is it?"
"There are dungeons, ones that are fated for you, though its the rarest of them, its a dungeon fitted to you and only you can beat it, if others do it they'll undoubtedly die."
"And you cleared one?"
"Accidentally, remember when I said I killed my Fiancé because he was possessed?"
"Yeah."
"He failed the trials set by the spirit guarding a dungeon and got possessed by the spirit of one of his trials when we went out for a raid just the two of us, so I had to kill him, then I had to clear the dungeon by myself to get out."
"Then its supposed to be yours then?"
"No, the spirit blatantly told me that it wasn't for me and that I got lucky that's all there is to it, besides maybe there is one for you or maybe there isn't, but there are other types dungeons as well."
"Is it something like some old man or woman transferring their legacy and all that shenanigan's?"
"Yes, but you're already strong enough as it is, just grow and train, your family is still here to hold the world for you and when your ready you take the world from us."
"You believe in the prophecy?"
"Lucas, who the hell do you think I am?"
"Ah, an Apostle."
"Of course we receive some revelations here and there but I did inquire about you."
"What did they say?"
"It's a secret, of course I can reveal some here and there but there are things I can't blatantly tell you what."
"Do you think I can, you know get a principle to help me?"

We had arrived at the base, Aria just said to me she had things to attend and I was free to do what I want, it was only around ten days till I return back to the academy.

I allowed Tear to do it and when I saw my body, she was right, my circuit that was big now were filled with mana, and the ball of mana that was clumping in my abdomen was gone, the more I looked at it there was a sliver of gold.

'I'll just call it Mana, what's the difference anyway?'

Thalia asked me as I was packing up.
"If you want you can stay here, it seems like you've gotten better at translating."

Thalia pouted but she then threw me a ring, I instantly caught it.
"It's my way of saying thanks, Its a ring I bought, but it turned out to be an artifact, its yours now, Its practically useless on me either way."
"What is it?"
"Put it on, I didn't claim ownership on it since it was useless so I used it just for aesthetics but now, it feels like its supposed to be yours."

It was a month, but it was an entertaining month, I trained with Aria, Thalia, she said she was planning on another trip and told Aria what she wanted to do I don't know the specifics but Aria agreed.
When I arrived at the front of my suite in the academy, I suddenly felt something latch onto me.
"You're back."
"Yes."
Emily hugged me tight, she placed her arms around my neck while her legs wrapped around my waist, it was like she was a koala, she then kissed my cheeks.
"Get a room you two bastards!"
I then heard a familiar voice from afar, I chuckled as I held Emily by the waist as we entered the suite.
"So how was your trip?"
"It was nice and cold."
"That's all?"
"That's all, so how was your missions with the Coven?"
"Nothing much, just a few assassinations here and there."
"Who?"
"Some greedy CEO's and corrupt officials in Birthington."
"Aria hired you."
"Yes."
I just sat on the couch as Emily was still atop of me.
"Ugh, this is what I get for moving with you two."
"When?"
"The dormitory was boring, I don't have a suite all to myself, my roommate was non existent and didn't talk to me so I asked Professor Theresse to transfer with you two."
"But I didn't say yes?"
"Emily did."
Emily smiled at me and then whispered something to me.
"So nothing happens in the night."
