Chapter 3: Black clover

With a steadying breath, Zak took in the sight of the vault's treasures one last time. Then, with a newfound command in his voice, he spoke to the air, "System, collect everything here into my inventory."

The words had barely left his lips when a whirlwind of unseen forces sprang to life. Like a maelstrom conjured by the whispered incantations of a seasoned mage, the vault's contents began to quiver. One by one, items lifted into the air, enveloped by a soft luminescence. There was a brief dance of shadows and light, a visual symphony orchestrated by the system's unseen mechanisms.

He watched, a silent spectator to this arcane display, as gold coins spun like golden leaves in an autumn wind before vanishing into the ether. Ancient scrolls curled and uncurled, as if bidding farewell to their physical bindings, then disappeared. The crown that had cut him — a circlet of power and legacy — glowed with a poignant brilliance before it, too, succumbed to the system's call.

Within the span of a heartbeat, the vault was bare, its treasures now inhabiting the intangible vaults of Zak's inventory. All that remained was the stillness of a room that had once brimmed with the echoes of his lineage.

The air settled, and the light dimmed back to the soft ambient glow of the vault. Zak stood in the center of the emptied chamber, a lone figure amidst the silence, his legacy now carried within him, as inseparable as the very blood in his veins.

"Ding: Would you like to exchange the coins for system points?" Zak recalled defining the system's currency based on such valuables.

"Yes," he replied without hesitation.

A pleasant chime sounded again. "You now have 50 million system points, equivalent to 100 USD per point based on current gold prices."

Zak's eyes narrowed with interest. "Show me the system shop," he commanded, eager to explore the possibilities his newfound wealth could unlock.

The system shop materialized before him, a catalog of potential and power neatly categorized for his perusal—everything a burgeoning adventurer might need was just a purchase away.

Zak scrolled through the vast inventory, each item promising strength and adventure. His finger hovered over several enticing options, but he withdrew. "No, I'll save these points. Best to gauge the world I find myself in first," he muttered, the thought of recklessly spending his inheritance unappealing.

"System, display available worlds for travel," he commanded, his heart rate picking up in anticipation of the list that would unravel before him.

"Ding," the system obliged.

World List:

Black Clover.

Harry Potter.

Demon Slayer.

Each title sparked a flicker of recognition in Zak's mind, stories he had immersed himself in once upon a time. He could dive into worlds of magic and wonder, of bravery and battles against dark forces. His decision would mark the beginning of a journey far beyond the confines of his grand ancestral vault.

He pondered his choices, each name a doorway to endless possibilities. Where would his path to power begin?

Zak's thoughts were a whirlwind as he weighed his options. "Demon Slayer... the thrill of battling demons, the dance of the sword, but death lurks behind every corner, sudden and brutal," he murmured, an exhilarating chill running down his spine at the prospect. Yet, he yearned for something more, something that wouldn't lead him to a swift and grisly end.

He contemplated Harry Potter next, the world of witches and wizards, of Hogwarts and magic most wondrous. "I've lived those tales, through pages and screens, through the eyes of countless others. No," Zak decided with a shake of his head, "that familiarity breeds a disquieting boredom."

His gaze then settled on Black Clover, a world brimming with magic and the promise of the unknown. "Yes, Black Clover," he affirmed with a burgeoning smile, his decision resonating with a sense of rightness within him. "A world where magic is everything, and your limits are your own to overcome. The excitement of discovering my grimoire, the comrades I'll fight alongside, the enemies I'll face."

Zak's mind was abuzz with the thoughts of his imminent departure to the world of Black Clover, yet practical considerations rooted him momentarily to his current reality. "Can't very well gallivant across dimensions without my essentials," he mumbled to himself, a smirk playing on his lips as he thought of breezing into a world of arcane magic sporting jeans and a hoodie.

"System, just to confirm, my items will remain with me even after the transition, correct?" he queried, a note of caution threading his voice.

"Ding. Confirmation received. All items within the inventory will be accessible in the new world," the system replied, its electronic chime echoing in the now empty vault.

Reassured, Zak left the chamber of treasures behind. He strode through the familiar halls of his home to his bedroom, with efficient motions borne of his newfound purpose, he gathered clothes, his trusty laptop, chargers – all the accoutrements of his life thus far.

Clad in comfortable travel attire, his backpack slung over one shoulder, Zak took a deep breath. "Time to make new memories," he whispered.

With a confident step, he returned to the heart of the vault, his figure framed by the flickering lights. "Okay, System. I'm ready. Let's start this adventure."

"Ding. Transition initiating in 3... 2... 1..."

The world around Zak blurred into streaks of color, the last vestiges of his former life dissolving away, as he stepped into the realm of the unknown.
