Chapter 3: Heavenly Devouring Skill!
Lucifer has already cultivated the Heavenly Devouring technique for a few hours before the first sun rays shone upon his body, which caused him to open his crimson eyes, and gazing at the beautiful scenery of the sun rising before he stood up from his position.
*Hu*
Lucifer exhaled out a breath filled with putrid air before he peered down at his body. He saw black substance on the surface of his body, that seemed to have slightly bulked up from his cultivation session. Pleased with the changes to his body, Lucifer reflected on the gains he received from that one cultivation session, as he stretched his body.
'In merely four to six hours, I managed to break through to the first stage of the Qi Soldier realm, skipping an entire major realm. It's all thanks to the technique I am using since it allows me to absorb 100% of the Qi I gather, losing none of it. The Qi density here and my knowledge about cultivation also played a major factor in me skipping an entire realm, since I knew what to do, and how to most adequately use Qi to breakthrough easily. But it is only going to get harder from here. Even my soul power increased, if it was equivalent to someone at the first level of the Soldier realm then now it is about the first stage of the Qi Warrior realm, and with it so did the range I can sense with, from ten meters to about one kilometre. Unfortunately, I can only start using soul attacks after I reached the Qi Ancestor realm. Even if I can't attack, I can suppress people and expand my soul power's range from the start, which will give me an immense advantage over others even in later stages.'
After going through all of his thoughts, he also finished stretching his body, but when he lifted his arms, the putrid smell coming from the black substances, attacked his sense of smell. So he moved towards the pond, stripped naked before washing himself.
Minutes later a fifteen-year-old teenager with a swimsuit physique, beautiful face, crimson eyes, snow-white- hair, sword-like eyebrows, and long eyelashes, came out of the water as water droplets slid down him. He looked so handsome it would mesmerize anyone that saw this scene.
He looked almost ethereal as if he's not bound by mortal affairs. This teenager is, of course, Lucifer that became much more muscular after reaching the Qi Soldier realm and having all the impurities washed out of his body.
Lucifer used Qi to dry himself and get dressed before he started thinking of where he should go.
'I need to make money to purchase medical herbs, get more information and to become stronger. I don't feel secure without sufficient power that's needed to protect myself.'
Suddenly he sensed people entering the park with his soul power, that's covering the entire park, snapped Lucifer out of his thoughts. Opening his blood-red eyes and gazing towards the entrance with a slight grin, which made him resemble a demon that would send shivers down anyone's spine if they saw it. He circulated his Qi into his legs before disappearing from his spot.
*Fwoosh*
A second later he appeared in a gigantic tree near the people, to see what they were doing.
He looked toward the people and saw a young man with eight bodyguards at the peak stage of the Soldier realm, that was enclosing him. The young man himself was at the first level of the Soldier realm, but he was trash as Lucifer could see that he pumped himself full of medicinal herbs, but remained at such a low realm.
'Guess that answers my question about if people can cultivate or not. Although I did think there were, this just confirms it.'
Examining them closely, he could see that the bodyguard on the right side of the young man was carrying a silver briefcase. He was curious regarding the contents, but didn't linger on it and moved his sight onto the young man.
The young man had average looks, was a lanky person, with short black hair and brown eyes. Nothing that will make him stand out amongst the crowd unless he always brings so many bodyguards with him. Lucifer similarly knew who he was from Edward's memories.
His name is Richard Knight and a part of the prestigious Knight family. Their family is very close to the Springwater family, since both the patriarchs; Edwards' father, Alex Springwater, and Richard's father, Bryan Knight, regard each other as brothers. The Knight family is also one of the top twenty families in the region with billions of Gold coins in wealth. Richard was even friends with one of Edward's brothers, Edd Springwater, as they both have the same personalities and hobbies. He is also a person who humiliated, insulted, and bullied Edward a lot.
'What a coincidence! I guess I can test the ability I received after successfully cultivating the Heavenly Devouring technique, which is called the Heavenly Devouring skill, and get revenge for Edward. It's two immortals with one sword, as they say.'
He continued watching Richard and tried finding out why he was here, since he knew what personality he had, and he wasn't the type of person to do work. All he did was sleep around with women he 'offered' to play with. He knew all of this because he always used to brag about everything he did, even sometimes showing pictures he had of it to Edward, as it was some sort of achievement.
"WHAT???? What do you mean she didn't accept, just capture her and send her to the usual place? Does she not know who I am? ... I guess that this young lord will have to teach her a lesson."
Just listening, not to mention looking at him, made Lucifer feel disgusted, but he continued to wait as he had a feeling that he wouldn't regret it. So he patiently waited for another half an hour, while listening to Richard's disturbing phonecalls he also continued to scan his surroundings and sensed that seven people were heading in this direction.
"Hello, Morrison, I am here for the package… Yeah, at the place we discussed… No, I'm not being followed… Oh, so you can see me? Then look, we have the money right here in this suitcase."
The man to Richard's right that held the briefcase, brought it towards Richard and waited for Richard's command. Richard slightly waved his right hand to signal him to open it, and he did, displaying tens of thousands of gold coins for the world to see. After a few seconds of showing the gold coins did he finally close it, therefore Richard continued to talk.
"I have everything here, now bring out the merchandise."
Richard hanged up the phone and waited for Morrison to arrive. Shortly afterwards a short fat man; with horizontal slit-like eyes and a 90s villain moustache; and six people accompanying him, arrived. Five were at the middle stages of the Qi Warrior realm, and the last one was at the peak, carrying a briefcase identical to the one Richard's bodyguard is carrying.
Lucifer thought Morrison will undoubtedly attack Richard to get the money considering he had stronger guards, and he is stronger than Richard with the strength of, peak Soldier realm. But he didn't do anything, even after they stood directly in front of each other.
'I guess Richard's family has a strong hidden expert, otherwise, I can't see why he didn't attack.'
Standing in front of Richard, Morrison began speaking with a smile covering his face, as he signalled someone to take the briefcase towards Richard. The bodyguard, with the peak Qi Warrior realm of cultivation, did as he was told.
"Such a fine day for a meeting isn't that right young master Richard."
Instead of replying to Morrison, Richard snapped at him.
"Cut the crap, Morrison! Is everything I asked for inside the suitcase?"
Hearing Richard's rude reply didn't seem to faze Morrison at all, as he just kept smiling and nodding his head towards Richard's question as the man with the suitcase arrived in front of Richard and opened it, showing him what was inside made Richard smile broadly. Richard nodded his head as a sign that he accepts the trade, signalling his bodyguard to bring the money forward. The two bodyguards exchanged briefcases before they retreated to their respective places, and Morrison said with enthusiasm.
"Let's do business with each other another day, young master Richard, but now I must say my goodbyes."
Morrison and his bodyguards took their leave from the area, leaving Richard's group alone. After waiting a full minute did Richard finally burst out laughing from pure jubilation.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA, I can finally become that master's disciple, then no-one will dare to look down on me."
Seeing everything playing out Lucifer remained stoic, but when he saw what the 'merchandise' was, even Lucifer almost burst out laughing as Richard did, but he just grinned.
'Nothing makes sense in this world. That was an entire case full of superior herbs, which is rare even in the immortal world, but they exchanged it for a few thousand gold coins. In the immortal world, no-one would trade their superior herbs, even if someone offered a few million of the highest grade spirit crystals. And one spirit crystal is millions of times more valuable than millions of gold, not to mention a high grade one. Those herbs confirm that this planet isn't simple at all.'
Richard's voice brought him out of his thoughts.
"Alright, since I've got what I wanted to get, we can directly head to that master place, so that I can quickly become his disciple."
Lucifer couldn't help but smile about how much stronger he can get with those herbs and the Qi he is going to take from them. Looking at the retreating form of Richard, Lucifer examined the surrounding kilometre to find out what Morrison's location is but saw that they already exited his one-kilometre sensing area.
'Let's do this.'
He used his soul power to halt their movements and seal their mouth, to stop them from making any sound that will get him into a difficult situation. Lucifer covered his body with Qi and disappeared from his position.
*Woosh*
The next moment he was standing in front of them, surprising them before they got alerted as this handsome fifteen-year-old boy just appeared in front of them without any warning. Yet Richard that was panicking calmed down instead as he saw hope, hope that Edward will save him from this situation. He looked at Lucifer with hostility and a commanding gaze that stated, 'you better help me, now!' Even though Richard saw Edward appear out of thin air, he wrote it off as an illusion from the fear.
Standing there and looking at his enemies with a stoic expression he began walking towards the man to Richard's right side that had the briefcase. Standing in front of the bodyguard, he only gently slapped his right hand on top of the man's dantian. With his hand still placed on top of the man's dantian, he began circulating his Qi towards his right hand. As the Qi crept up his arm and finally reached the top of his fingers, it swiftly drilled into his dantian. The man was in agony as it was happening, but Lucifer didn't stop.
When the Qi entered the man's dantian, it immediately rushed into the Qi sea he had, which was going to be used to try to breakthrough soon. Rushing into the sea of Qi it moved to the bottom, stayed there and a lot of Qi threads came together to form a thicker Qi strand, which was almost like a straw with a hole in it, with the suction abilities of a black hole. It sucked every bit of Qi from the man's dantian, even absorbing his vital Qi and Qi that got scattered throughout his body.
Looking at the man turning skinnier, older, and rapidly losing his cultivated strength, which impressed Lucifer with the skill. Standing in front of him wasn't a man anymore but a corpse, he retracted the Qi threads from the man's body before walking the leftmost guard. The guards stood in a sideways zig-zag pattern which makes it easier for Lucifer to hunt.
Lucifer was calmly strolling towards the bodyguard on Richard's left and as he was a meter away from the previous guy, the corpse fell to the ground and white Qi threads exited his body and going towards Lucifer. When it arrived it began swirling around Lucifer's right arm, but unseen to the others was when the white Qi contacted with his blue Qi, he felt how it was unloading the harvest it got into his dantian.
The scene shocked the others so much they felt their souls trembling and trying to leave their bodies. All they saw was that Lucifer casually touched the man, whilst walking, and a couple of seconds later the man was dead and Lucifer was almost to his next victim. What they saw wasn't a teenager, no, what they saw was a white-haired, red-eyed, demon.
Lucifer did the same as he previously did, and just lightly slapped the man where his dantian was, sending the white Qi threads into the man's dantian to once again, absorb his Qi and vital Qi, which only lasted a second before the same thing happened to him as the previous one. He felt that he could break through to the next realm, but he knew he would damage his foundations by doing this thus he will first convert the Qi to his own later by a pill before doing anything. Lucifer walked a meter away from the corpse before it fell and continued to do the same thing to all the bodyguards around Richard.
Upon finishing the last bodyguard, Lucifer finally set his sights upon Richard and he couldn't help but smirk. But that coupled with his actions up till now made his image of a demon solidify in Richard's mind which send shivers down his spine.
"Young master Richard, we meet again. Unfortunately, I couldn't prepare a proper welcoming ceremony and we met under these conditions, but don't worry, I have the perfect gift for you."
Immediately after saying that, the white Qi exploded from Lucifer's right arm, as millions of white Qi threads joined to make a Qi scalpel, which covered his entire arm with his handheld in a vertical position, which was a scalpel.
He slowly approached Richard.

Each step getting increasingly louder for Richard. It felt like Lucifer is stepping on his heart with each step he takes. He was so afraid he closed his eyes and waited for all of this to end. After what felt like an eternity under that pressure, Richard heard the footsteps stop, therefore Richard opened his eyes hoping all of that was a dream, but what he saw made him piss his pants.
Lucifer was staring at him with massive amounts of killing intent radiating from him, which was directed at Richard. The killing intent was more powerful than the soul power's pressure, making Richard shiver and cry wishing he never offended this demon.
"Not only are you weak, but you are pathetic as well. I was going to get 'my' revenge, but now I have changed my mind."
Lucifer in his anger forgot about the strength disparity between the two of them, including that he already activated his Qi scalpel technique on his right arm. So he used his right hand to punch Richard in the stomach, but…
*Puchi*
His hand went right through Richard's stomach, which instantly woke Lucifer from his rage, and he began using the Heavenly Devouring skill because he didn't want to lose any Qi he could gain.
A second later Richard became a dried-out corpse as well, hence Lucifer could only throw him off his arm like garbage and began walking towards the briefcase.
Lucifer first changed out of his old clothes and into the man's suit, which fitted his body surprisingly well. Picking up the briefcase in his left hand and his old clothes in his right, he glanced back toward the corpses and used his Qi to wipe his fingerprints from them. Other cultivators will know that a cultivator did it, but won't know who it was.
He had to get out of this area considering that the area will be flooded with people, and he didn't want to be near any of that when it happened. So he began making his way towards the exit moreover when he reached the exit, he saw a garbage can, where he used to dispose of his old bloodied clothes before he walked away towards the inner city.
