After sensing that there was no one near the cottage, Ruben used the rope available in the room and tied the unconscious man up to a chair he found outside the cottage after stripping him.
Ruben looked at his status while waiting for him to regain his consciousness.

As long as the man didn't have a skill or something that could help him out of his bindings, Ruben wasn't worried.
Not long after, the man woke up and immediately started screaming at Ruben although he didn't know where in the room he was.
"How dare you! I'll f*ck you up when I get out of this! You're gonna die! Where's that b*tch?" He continued on and on threatening Ruben and his family.
Having enough, he walked out of the shadow he was hiding in, at the corner of the room towards Hugo.
As Hugo continued his swearing and threatening, he took a dagger and stabbed into his thighs.

"I don't think you understand the circumstances you're in Mr Hugo. I'll be asking the question and you'll be answering them. For every question you refuse to answer, you will lose a part of your body, understood?" Ruben said with a low tone.
Hugo was shocked when the other person knew his name, his real name.
He couldn't see the speaker properly as half of his face was covered by the hood.
Calming down Hugo noticed that the room was too quiet and took a good look around.
He was frightened to see that everyone he worked with was dead, including all the Marked.
He then stopped talking and thought of a way to drag time and escape.
Seeing Hugo calmed down, Ruben immediatly asked, "What are all the people kidnapped for?"
Suddenly realising what the person might be after, he shut his mouth up.
Thinking that he would rather have a quick death than knowing he would definitely be given a pain worse than death later if he said anything.
Ruben immediately cut off two of Hugo's finger after seeing his reaction
"If I don't get an answer by the time all the fingers on your hands are gone, I'll be moving on to," Ruben ended his sentence by pointing at Hugo's crotch.
Seeing Hugo still keeping quiet, he cut of the three remaining fingers on the same hand.
Hugo screamed but refused to say anything. He was still afraid of that man.
"I suddenly have an idea, let me start with your face first before continuing our way down, what do you think?" Ruben said in a cheerful tone and smile.
Seeing the smile below the hood gave Hugo a chill down his spine, before he could protest, he saw a curved dagger going towards his right eye.
Ruben held Hugo's head with his left hand and dug out his eyes using the curved dagger in his hand.
He even dug out the eye while cutting out his eyelid which was in the way.
Ignoring Hugo's struggle, he said, "You better start speaking soon or its going to be your ears next."
"No, no, I can't, he'll do me worse." Hugo said panting and soaked in sweat, tears and blood.
Sighing, Ruben cut off his left ear.
He then said, "You seem to enjoy this part of your body, maybe it'll convince you if I start there instead." Pointing at Hugo's crotch.
As Hugo struggled and begged him to stop, Ruben cut of a quarter of his treasure.
The pain made Hugo's mind blank out and screamed like a pig for slaughter.

"If you don't talk soon, I'll do the round again, your hand, your face, then your crotch." Ruben explained.
"Please... please stop... but give me a quick one after. I beg you, I'll tell you if you give me a quick death after." Hugo begged as he didn't want to fall into that man's hand. He felt that a quick death would be better now.
Nodding his head, Hugo started talking when he saw Ruben agreed.
"We take people and orphans from the slums weekly. Then we would pass them to the middleman. The exchange will be done under the eyes of the overseer.
The overseer is a Marked... I have seen what he did to people who talked too much... I don't know what he got from them but he was able to inflicted more pain than normal. He would then have the person healed by a Healer and torture them again and again."
"He is the only Marked I've ever met with abilities. Although you seem strong, but, the overseer is at another league. I heard that he has even contracted with a consellation."
Ruben frowned slightly when he heard the last sentence.

"We were told to take females and children as they were prefered but if there's not enough, we could fill the gaps with young man.
They are then sent to the capital through the middleman. I don't know who received them in the end but I guessed that they are some really powerful people."
"I once saw it by chance but, the overseer seemed to have a royal investigator's badge. So I guessed that the royals are involved since only the royal family can command the royal investigator."
Having seen the star on Ruben's palm during the torture he continued, "I am sure you understand, when we take the females, we would pick a few to play with. Some of the consellations like it and would give us Stream Coins.
We would then be able to buy some items like Strengthening potions and such with them. The consellations are usually more entertained when in the dungeon, but they are all controlled by a group of powerful Marked while temporarily opened dungeon will close anytime which increases the chances of getting stuck in the dungeon forever keeping the Marked from entering."
"I guess some don't want to enter as they would have to risk their lives so they find other ways to entertain their channel." Hugo said with a weak voice.
"When and where do you meet the overseers?" Ruben asked hoping to get some information from the overseer.
"We meet at a path along the road 1 km behind this cottage. We would meet at sundown every Sunday."
"Do you know anything of an item the royal investigator might be looking for?" Ruben tried his luck.
"Item? I think the overseer did some digging at Halum looking for something before but we weren't involved so I don't know anything else of it." Hugo said after some thought.
Nodding his head in understanding, Ruben asked, "How did you and your men become Marked?"
Giving a self mocking laugh, he said, "The overseer gave us a gem saying it will give us an opportunity to become powerful men... but I realised later that it was a chain that tied us down. Making me do thing I never thought I'd do. Hahhh, looks like I've to pay for my sins soon."
"Ironically, eventhough we are Marked, we weren't able to attract many consellations making us not much different from ordinary people."

Hugo continued laughing in self mockery after finishing the sentence.
Nodding his head, Ruben slit Hugo's throat in a quick action with his curved dagger and left the cottage.
