Prologue
Lee Jae-hoon was born from nothing and tried everything, but all he had was a loan to pay off.
There was no way he was going to enjoy his college years like his friends. He was going to live in the library to get one more scholarship.
When he was tired of studying with Mr Alba and his head was no longer spinning, he spent my time reading.
It wasn't because he was a bookish man who loved to read. It was because he didn't have time for any other hobbies.
He has been reading a lot of ancient Roman history lately. He admits he is not a hardcore Roman fan.
Still, he figured reading them would give him a good head start on getting credit for his Western History course, so he picked up a few.
One of the most famous people in ancient Rome was Julius Caesar, otherwise known as Caesar. He succeeded even while sitting on a mountain of debt.
It was bittersweet because it contrasted so dramatically with his current situation.
'That's because the past is not the same as the present, so it's possible.... No, what the fuck are you thinking?'
If you take out your inferiority complex on someone from your past, all you'll get is self-pity.
'If I could read the future like I can read history in a book, I'd be a lot more successful than this.'
As he flicked through the pages of his book, his eyes glazed over in a strange sort of trance.
Maybe it's because he had a fever yesterday and forced himself to work a part-time job.
He should have taken paracetamol, but he wasn't feeling well.
'... is my assignment, and it's late, and I need to get some sleep.'
He laid down with his book as a pillow, and within five seconds, he was crazily drifting off to sleep.
The interest on the loan I owed swirled around in my head until I almost passed out and fell asleep.
'Damn it.... If I could just live one day without worrying about money....'
That was his last thought in this life of misery.
