Chapter 1: Joseph
Esperanza Pov
Hi everybody! My name is Esperanza and I'm a senior at Brocks High School. I have two best friends, Alex and Jana. They have been my besties since elementary. Well school is over and I'm heading to my car when I see both Jana and Alex. I was planning to scare them but stopped when I saw them talking to my ex-boyfriend, Joseph. I'm not really sure if it was really him or some other guy but I'm definitely one hundred percent sure the cap that the guy has is the cap I gave Joseph because no one has a cap that I wrote my name on. I left......
"Babe you ready?........E, you okay?" When I reached to my car David who's my boyfriend was waiting for me
"Let's-"
"E!" I turned around to see who was calling me. I realized it was Alex and Jana. Alex waved to my direction
"Let's get outta here" I said ignoring Alex's wave and got in the car
"Why? It's just our friends?"
"Well I want to leave cause their is something I want to tell you and plus I'm a bit bad at them I caught them talking to Joseph-"
"Joseph your ex?"
"Yeah"
"Oh! Ok then let's go" he opened the door and got in. I speed away without looking in their direction. Which their in my side of the car I wish I could've gone the other way but there's only one way out and one way into the school
David POV
We got to Esperanza's house and we were greeted by her personal helper Mohini
"Hello Esperanza and David. Esperanza, would you like me to put your car in the usual spot?"
"Hi Mo, and yes please, but how many times do I have to tell you to call me E and you don't have to be so professional towards me"
"Sorry E but-"
"No buts and much better, bye now"
"Hi and bye Mo" I said with a wave. We went inside and her whole family was in the living room. Her parents on the couch, her little siblings (Hazel and Saeed), their twins. Hazel is in eighth grade and Saeed is in seventh grade, Why is that? Aren't they.....? Yes but Saeed got held back because he was all that and was not caring about his grades. All he was caring about is being popular and being the bad boy at their school. While Hazel is the shy and quiet one with a A honor roll. She doesn't care about being popular or not. So back to what I was saying before. Hazel went on to eighth grade while Saeed is still in seventh grade. On the floor next to them are their seven dogs, oldest to youngest: Wizard (boy), Cici (girl), Duke (boy), Mico (boy), Dali (boy), Meño (boy), and Dixie (girl).
Wizard: Chihuahua (Jesus's dog)
Cici: Rat Terrier (Esperanza's Dog)
Duke: Hound Dog (Maria's dog)
Mico: Yorkie (Maria's dog)
Dali: Chihuahua mixed with Rat Terrier (Son of Wizard and Cici) (Hazel's dog)
Meño: Mix Hound Dog (Jesus's dog)
Dixie: Hound Dog (Saeed's dog)
"Hola a todos" (Hi everyone) when Cici heard Esperanza's voice she stood up and ran to her and Esperanza pick her up
"Hola" (Hi) they replied back
"Hola mi niña pequeña" (Hi my little girl)
"So me and David are going to my room to hang out for a bit, bye!"
"Wait Esperanza! Why don't you guys come hang out with us, instead?" Esperanza's mom Maria said
"Well because first off you guys are watching a movie that I have not seen the first movie of this series. So I will not get it and you well all of you know I hate scary movies and lastly I was just going to finally tell him about Jose-"
"Don't even say his name Esperanza"
"Papa lo siento" (Dad I'm sorry)
"Esta bien pero sabes mejor que no decimos su nombre aquí en esta casa" (It's ok, but you know better that we don't say his name here in this house) Esperanza's dad, Jesus said to her
"Si papi" (Yes dad)
"So that is why I want to go over to my room so bye" I saw her turn around and leave. I ran after her before saying bye to everyone. She was already in her room when I walked in I sat next to her in her bed
"Why did you take so long? I thought you were right behind me?"
"No I wasn't but I just wanted to say bye to your family"
"Oh sorry didn't mean to leave you behind WITH my crazy family"
"It's fine. So are you going to tell me about Joseph?"
"OK. Yes I'm going to because I trust you we dated for what?.... seven months i'm ready to let you in all the way and keep in mind that my family, Jana, and Alex know about this already"
"Ok"
"This all started when I was in freshman (9th) year. When I had a crush on Joseph. I did not know back then that he liked me too. He and his friends were making it. Their names were if I remember correctly Christian, Paul, and Angel. They were all kind to me-"
"Wait Paul? Paul as in Erick's older brother that graduated three years ago and are you sure that Erick is not spying on you for Paul?"
"No, I don't think so. It's been three years since that happened but what do you think?"
"I don't know either but I think he is but let us get on with the show come on" I said moving my hand in circles so that she can move on
"Yeah now can you give me the questions AFTERWARDS?"
"Sorry"
"Thank you. They were all kind to me, especially Joseph. We dated for ten months longer than we did, so we put on our third date ...."
...........Flashback.............
Esperanza Pov
"OMG E, I can't believe you are dating a senior while we're barely starting freshman year and of course he is going to graduate at the end of the year AND also the poplar and hottest guy in the entire school AND-"
"Well Jana for one stop bragging about it"
"Wow you hurt me pretty bad" Jana said and pretending to cry
"But you know you LOVE Moi (me)"
"(Sigh) sadly yes....ok fine I do now stop looking at me like that"
"Ok!!!! And to answer your questions it is all true and I know he'll be graduating but I-don't-care. I'm happy for him Bután also sad because I don't know if he'll still go out with me when he's away in college or dump me?! Can you help me get ready? He should be here any moment and I still need to fix my hair, put my dress on AND-"
"Who's the one blabbering now me, uh?" Jana looked at me smiling while raising her eyebrows towards my direction
"Oh shut up!" I threw her a pillow that was laying on the floor next to me
"(Laughing)"
.............One Hour Later............
"What do you-" Jana was cut off by my phone ringing
"Hey Jana can you answer it I am trying to finish putting this last piece of extension into my hair"
"Ok........Hello? Oh! hi Joseph......" I turned around and faced Jana and mouthed to her 'What does he want?' She looked at me with a disappointed face with a sad smile towards me
"Ok. I'll let her know bye Joseph"
"Well?" I waited for her to respond but she didn't
"Jana?"
"Well Joseph cancelled the date because his mother needed him to babysit Juan"
"Wait, his little brother? Is he about to turn seventeen? And also is he old enough to take care of himself?"
"To answer your questions that you already know, yes him, yes he is, yes but don't you remember the last time when he was fifteen years old. He almost burned down the house"
"Who the heck leaves the stove and oven on when nothing is on or in them?!"
"Well apparently he does but the thing is that. Isherwood not at Becca's house?"
"Oh yeah I heard from one of her girls saying that there was going to be a party at her place tonight"
"Yeah and Alex said that he'll be going to her party to chill there i'll text him if you saw one there or not"
"Ok. Well then I'll just change to my pj's and call it a night, good night Jana"
"Are you sure? And I'll let you know wheat Alex said then"
"Yeah I'm sure and thanks"
"You're welcome, E" she waved and walked away. I started thinking and got suspicious. So I decided to go to Joseph's house. When I got there there was no car in the driveway. Both of his parents plus Juan's car were not there but there was only Joseph's car and another car I don't recognize. That was when I got a text from Jana saying that Alex said Juan was there at Becca's house. I texted her back saying that it was fine and I will see her and Alex tomorrow at school. I parked my car and knocked on the front door But no one answered. I forgot that Madeline does not work tonight. I tried the door and it was to my lock unlocked. I went upstairs to Joseph's room thinking he'll be there playing video games with one of his buddy's or something. I walked right in not knowing what I was getting myself into but I was definitely speechless
"Joseph!"
"Uh! E! Why are you here I thought Jana told you-"
"Yeah she told me that you were taking care of Juan not cheating on me with the biggest slut of the school"
"You never were supposed to see this-"
"What?! That you would cheat on me and I will never find out? Well, NEWS FLASH! I figured it out"
"Well, didn't you think he wanted more? That you weren't NEVER going to give to him and that's why-"
"Shut-up Caroline no one is talking to you and plus that wasn't the reason why. So leave now!" He said with discussed in his voice
"But Joseph I won-"
"No. The person leaving here is me so bye don't ever call me anymore"
"Esperanza wait!" I shut the door and ran out of the house once I was outside running towards my car Alex and Jana were waiting for me in my car. I forgot that Becca lives close by here. So my guess is that they walked here and that explains why there is only three cars including mine
"What happened?" Alex came running towards me and I fell into his arms
"I saw him with Carol-"
"WHAT, so he cheated?" Jana said with her hands on her hips
"Yes"
"Well no one does that to my BFF (best friend forever) get out of my way"
"No Alex he is not worth it and also I want to leave before he comes out of the house, let's go!"
"Ok but let me at least take their air out of both cars so that there is a good reason to stay and get caught by Joseph's parents" Alex said
"Yeah but to add more hatred to this-" Jana said interrupted by Joseph
"Hey E , come back and let me explain what exactly that happened back-"
"YOU! shut your mouth up and E, Jana let's go now!"
Alex said while pulling my arm and Jana's
"Ok" I said wiping my tears
"WAIT! Hey Joseph you don't deserve to call her E or even her name at all. Even though both me and Alex made that nickname for her. Bye whore man, that will be your new nickname starting today"
"Wait! No wait-" we left without saying anything else to him
........Three Weeks Later............
It has been three weeks since Joseph's occurrence. I was watching The Notebook when the doorbell rang. I saw Mo was heading in that direction. So I didn't paid that much attention to it and turned my attention nací to the movie
"Hey Esperanza come towards the front door I can't get this guy to leave" Mo yelled to me
"Who is it?" I yelled back
"I don't know. He won't take off his mask until you come. Should I call your parents?" She yelled back
"Coming!" I yelled running towards the door hoping it won't be Joseph AGAIN!
"Thank you Mo...." When she left I continued talking
".....Leave my house you creep" I said
"Well I can't do that E?"
"E? How do you know my nickname?"
"Well because of this" He took off his mask
"Joseph!"
"Hi E! I came here to say how sorry I am for doing what I did to you please forgive me Esperanza"
"No! Why would I forgive you I'll be crazy if I did so no"
"Esperanza stop being stubborn and just forgive me for god sake already"
"F** no you shouldn't have done it! Do you even know how many guys she have slept with and also what kind of STD she has"
"No but-"
"Well then that sucks for you then I guess but I don't want to know anymore excuses from you because you already gave me a whole lot of excuses so I'm freaking tired of it, bye Joseph"
"Well I was going to tell you why I did it?"
"What is your excuse now"
"The reason why I was doing that was for the money, I needed the money from her"
"Why!?"
"I'm a gang leader and I owe another gang money and Caroline has that kind of money"
"Well you-"
"Before you finish that sentence I do not wanted your money because back then you were my girlfriend and I wanted to get the money from someone that I did not care about but not like you E, I care about you a lot more than you can imagine"
"Ok then but that doesn't explain why you did that you could've gotten a job or something other than that"
"Yeah I could but I didn't I'm so sorry, E"
"Sorry? Really!? Get out before I call the cops on you for trespassing!"
"Fine but please forgive me one day"
"How will I trust you again you kept something from me all these months and also cheated on me I have one more question for you before you leave"
"What?"
"For how long has this been going on for?"
"For ten months-"
"TEN MONTHS!? Are you kidding me! This has been going on since we were dating f***in can't believe you right now, Get out" I said planning to his car
"Ok bye E!"
"Don't call me that!" He left the without saying another word

David Pov
"Wow well-"
"Well I was not done"
"Sorry"
"Ok well I'm ashamed to say this but I did forgive him the very next day ......Stop giving me that face David....... But I'll regret it for the rest of my life because I told him to embarrass himself in the middle of the hall making sure that he got the attention of all of the students once he did. He then walked and started singing a random song while dancing with random people who were making crazy looks at him. That was when I forgave him, everything went fine until I was coming out of my chemistry class. That was when Alex came running to me saying that he saw Joseph making out with Kaitlyn, one of Caroline's minions in the boys locker rooms. I went marching towards that direction and did see them. I yelled at him and told him that I never wanted to see him so I ran out with Alex right behind me. I heard him say wait but I never turned around to hear what he wanted to say to me but he ran towards me but the thing that surprised me was that Alex punched him to the floor but the thing that surprised me the most is that he never gets into a fight or punches anyone. Unless it involves his family, Jana or me. He punched him so many times that he made a pool of Joseph's blood on the floor. I told Alex no he was just hurting his hands for this douchebag. So we left him still laying their in his pool and that was the last time I heard and seen him"
"Wow well I can't believe that that jerk did all of this to you!"
"Yes he did and that is why my parents don't like to listen to this part of my life and I don't like talking about it either"
"Wow then that explains why your father made me the 'I will kill you if you ever hurt my daughter' face"
"Sorry about that"
"It is fine but I will never ever cheat on you"
"Yeah, yeah that is what Joseph said and look where that turned out to be"
"Well I am NOT Joseph and I will NEVER behim, ok? And I also promise that with my heart"
"Yeah whatever just prove it"
"Sure thing that is enough blackmail for today how about we watch A Silent Voice on Netflix I heard it is a pretty good anime movie to watch"
"I love anime! You already know how to make me happy"
"That's my specialty and thank you very much" I said bowed to her
"You're welcome your highness" so the whole afternoon we were watching movies and eating junk food in her room with the door open. Parents rule not mine. I will prefer it closed but oh well. When I saw it was getting late I was going to tell Esperanza that I was going to leave BUT-T I didn't because she was asleep in bed. When I went downstairs to the front door when suddenly Esperanza's mother stopped me
"You two look so good for each other"
"Well thanks Mrs. Sánnowchez"
"Oh David! You don't need to call me Mrs. Sánchez, it just makes me feel old. Please call me Maria"
"Thank you Maria"
"Your welcome"
"Now young man. Now that you know about Joseph treat my daughter like that and you'll be begging for your mother NOT to give birth to you because I will surely make that possible BUT I know you will treat her good, thank you David" her dad came right behind me
"Y-yes s-sir"
"Good"
"Jesus you don't need to treat this poor boy like that but David he is right if you treat her badly I won't hesitate to rip you in half little by little, piece by piece pain by Pain to make you suffer, do I make myself clear?
"Yes ma'am" I replied quickly actually way to quickly
"Hey David" the twins said coming out of the living room
"We will also warn you to treat our big sister nice not like Joseph oh How I wanted to punch him real bad for the way he treated her like a piece of trash but we all know you WON'T treat her like that, right!" Hazel said with Saeed backing her up with the last part
"Now off you go David"
"Bye Maria, twins, and Mr. Sanchez"
"Bye!" They said while Saeed open the door for me To get out
(Phew) her family gives me the creeps every time they talk to me about Esperanza ugh!
