"You are still up?" Stanley walked into the sitting room, to find Mary staring outside the window. She was lost in thoughts that she didn't hear him, nor did she notice that there was someone else with her in the room.

This has become a routine, one that he was really worried about. At this rate, she was going to faint from exhaustion, she really gets enough rest as it is, and has been going on about something bad happening to her daughter, Marissa.

"Sweetheart." Stanley called, touching her arm this time that she gasped from the contact, and when she saw that it was him she calmed down. "You need to sleep, Mary, please for my sake and that of Violet." He said, referring to his daughter who was her step daughter.

But clearly, Mary was definitely planning on giving him a heart attack at this rate. She might get her blood pressure high at the way she's talking as if Marisa was a child, that didn't know what she wanted.
