Annabelle's heart raced as she faced Edwards, her revelation hanging in the tense air. The room seemed to shrink as she took a deep breath before calmly confessing, "I was out with my friends."

Edwards, his anger evident, pressed further, demanding, "Which friend, if I may ask?"

"Why do you care so much about the friend I was out with?" Annabelle shot back, questioning his intensity.

"If you don't want to see my other side, you better respect yourself and start talking," Edwards warned, his tone sharp.

Attempting to defend herself, Annabelle explained, "I was out celebrating with my girlfriend and got high. I couldn't return home, so I stayed with her. Can I go now?" She attempted to walk away, but Edwards forcefully pulled her back, refusing to let her leave.
