Did Ryan Caldwell just refer to him as sweet?

Aiden could literally feel the blood rushing to his face, dotting his cheeks with pink clouds. The change did not escape Ryan's observant eyes.

"I... I..." Against his will, Aiden stammered like a high school girl who had just been confessed to. And it was not as if Ryan just confessed! Ryan just called him sweet. It meant nothing. Absolutely nothing.

"I... Thanks for the compliment," Aiden wrapped up the conversation just like that.

He was unwilling to continue, but the vampire did not seem to catch the hint.

When the young man averted his gaze, his wrists were caught by the vampire.

"Aiden Thompson," he said softly. "I am not done yet."

Aiden turned a shade redder when he discovered that he had become the object of the vampire's intense gaze. He wanted to look away, but he was unable to. It must be the vampire's power over human beings. Yes, there was no other explanation than that.
