Chapter 1: A winters morning

I can't believe it!

Neither can I!

My best friend , Merida, and I sat cross legged on my tartan patterned bed sheets diving into articles about the death of willow Anderson. We sat in disbelief still questioning whether it was true or not. " hardly" I thought to myself. But whether I liked it or not it was true. Willow Anderson , my all time favourite actress was dead. Dead as a door nob. "I never really got that phrase. Wouldn't it make much more sense if you were to say dead as a cow in the slaughter house, well as I say it, it does sound a bit morbid doesn't it?" I question as I talk away to Merida. Buzz buzz.

Buzz buzz

Buzz buzz

" shouldn't you answer that" Merida asked me?

Oh shoot! Yeah I probably should!

Oh it's Aaron!

I turned slightly to my left as I picked up my phone holding it close to my ear as Aaron's voice greeted me with a husky " hay" I never really got over how deep his voice had gotten over the summer. " hiya, whatcha need?" I replied with.

" I was just in the shop and wondering if you need anything that's all?"

" oh," I sunk back down onto my bed, I don't know what I thought he was going to say but I wasn't expecting this. " can you pick me up a pack of the watermelon sour patch kids please? "AND A CHOCOLATE MILK FOR MEEEEE!" Merida yelled dramatically.

" and a chocolate milk for Merida, thanks baby see you soon"

"Love you babe"

"Bye"

"Bye"

I hadn't even turned of my phone before Merida started ranting about willow Anderson's death again. I started to slowly drift away from the sound of her chatter and into my own world. I didn't get why I was so upset about Aaron. No that was a lie I knew exactly why I was upset. He hadn't asked me out on a proper date in a whole 2 WEEKS!! He is my boyfriend after all!

June?

Hellooooo? Juneee!!

I snapped back into reality to the sound of Merida's voice trying to get my attention. She was snapping her fingers aggressively in front of me as if to say " hello pay attention to me" without the words leaving her lips. God I loved Merida to bits but sometimes she could get on my nerves. I slotted my phone snuggly between my two thighs. She continued reading aloud from an article she had found. None of it really caught my interest besides for the last part that read " willow Anderson was pronounced dead at 10:47pm last night. Scientists say she died due to cardiac arrest started by a drug over dose" wierd isn't it? That both of us were sat here mourning the death of a person we never spoke to let alone met! But whether I liked it or not I could feel myself fighting back the tears of sadness at such horrible news. Upset I turned slightly to my left so my sight lined up with my bedroom windowsill. I had to adjust my gaze slightly so I could look out the window and watch small dainty snowflakes drift through the air riding winters cool crisp wind through the sky. The moon was still slightly visible even though it was just gone 8:40 am.
