Chapter 3: Choice

There has never been a moment in history where making a deal with the devil had worked out. I don't expect it will change now but at this moment I don't have much of a choice and my time is running out.

"I will go along with your game when do we begin?" I asked him but Lucifer simply snapped his fingers.

"We begin now of course no time to waste"

It was at that moment where I had intense pain in my heart I clutched my chest as I was having hard time breathing. I started losing consciousness as my head falls back on the pillow. All around me you could see the nurses rushing into the room as they try to save my life. While nobody notices the man in the black suit standing next to me, I finally lost my sense of reality as I took my last breath.

---- --------------------------- ---------------------------- ------------------------------------- ------------

I wake up to find myself in a world full of nothing, what I mean is that there is literally nothing everything is dark anywhere you turn to see.

"Death is beautiful is it not? It is quiet and untainted the way the world should have been" Lucifer spoke as he walked towards me as if the darkness could not shroud his presence.

"This is… not what I expected" I said slowly, I look at him "When do we begin, I suppose you do have a debriefing to give me"

"Of course, of course I do want you to succeed in my little deal with my father; here I'll explain it to you"

Lucifer then explained what the game entailed, according to him we are currently traveling to a world that has been ravaged by war for the last 200 years. Since the stalemate between himself and God remained unchanged since it started on earth they have decided to settle the score here in this world. This world is currently the home of another human race called the Istri they themselves are divided into four empires. Ravelon to the north, Velon to the south, Lukenia in the west and finally Grecia in the east, each of these empires are under the protection of different mythical gods from Earth.

The goal of the game is simple by whatever means necessary both opposing parties must unite the continent. It can be by war or diplomacy even outright slaughter but the continent must be united under one individual. Each party is given the choice of choosing six individuals to represent them from Earth.

"If these countries are guarded by their gods how are we supposed to defeat them, I don't believe they will let us walk in?" I mention to Lucifer

"Quite easy since me and god can't directly interfere, we both will lend you the powers of one our subordinates. Which reminds me I haven't told you, you are the final person chosen by me which means everyone else has chosen a guardian" he then pulls out two small boxes made from wood with different inscriptions. One has the drawing of a fly while the other has that of a broom.

"Both of these boxes contain one of my generals each one well" he chuckles "has their own personal fucked up personality. Pick one and their abilities will become yours but be careful there are no second choices" He then puts out both boxes in both hands in front of me.

Basing on the fact that nobody else chose these two must mean either they are weaker than those prior to them which seem unlikely which could only mean there must be something wrong with them on a personal level. Probably controlling them is the issue, it also seems I can't ponder on this issue for too long. Not far from me a portal has started taking shape slowly creating a vortex that is picking up speed. I look back at the wooden boxes and sigh to myself I hate situations that lack sufficient information. Beezlebub was the lord of flies so that must be his representation while a broom must indicate a witch.

I grab the box on his right hand that has the broom and open it to find that nothing was inside it.

"Thanks for choosing Leila master~ I'm sure you will be very pleased"
