Chapter 41: When the devil sets his eyes on you... Part4
The next day Wang Yu promptly delivered all the herbs Su Lin had ordered.
The old man mentioned that the delivery was going out to Su Lin's house and Wang Yu instantly volunteered himself.
Her theatrics were still fresh in his mind, so he personally delivered the herbs out of curiosity.
And he was not disappointed!!
Just like he had expected, Su Lin was busy early in the morning arranging various things on the kitchen counter.
That was just a normal thing for someone to be doing, but in Su Lin's case…
One look at the ice cubes on the bowl, right next to the steaming hot water and the pressure cooker, told him something crazy was again about to happen.
But unfortunately, this time he couldn't watch the show.
Once he delivered the herbs and got the signature, Su Lin quickly shut the door on his face.
She was clearly not intending to be rude. She was just too busy and had too many things on her mind. The man helplessly sighed and left.
However, Su Lin wasn't rid of all her distractions that morning just yet.
Now that she received the fresh herbs, Su Lin informed Runyan that she wanted some alone time and busied herself in the kitchen.
She organised all the herbs and then started processing one by one.
The various herbs constantly underwent several modes of torture including boiling, steaming, dunked into freezing cold ice bowl.
A nauseating stench emanated followed by thick smoky fumes.
Even several weird noises erupted.
Though Su Lin had specifically asked her not to disturb, Runyan couldn't hold back any longer and peeked inside to check.
"Are you okay, Lin Lin?"
"Yes. Yes. Don't worry. Ummm… Maybe just stay away."
She quickly looked at Runyan and replied before getting back to work.
But for some reason, her hands stopped mid air and her mouth twitched.
She again slowly turned towards Runyan and looked at her, and then at the person standing next to her.
F*ck! F*ck! F*ck!
Luther was leisurely leaning on the kitchen door and sipping a cup of hot tea, that she had personally brewed earlier, while watching her with a ridiculous smirk.
"Please, don't mind me. Keep going." The shameless jerk, chuckled at Su Lin's angry glare and grinned.
"You… You again??"
Su Lin growled in anger. Why won't he just leave her alone?!
The man was incredibly good at pushing Su Lin's buttons. One look at him and she was already hopping mad.
Yesterday, she had spoken extremely harsh words and chased him out. Any decent man with a little bit of self-respect wouldn't have come back.
But this shameless guy again showed up at her house??!!
Fine! You win! You don't want the easy way out? I will chase you out the hard way.
Su Lin put down the herbs in her hand and walked out with an angry glare.
As she neared the hooligan, she immediately went straight for his throat with a merciless jab.
But unfortunately, this time, Luther was already prepared for it.
He caught thin hands in one swift motion and held her feisty body down, pinning her on the kitchen door.
Though she was captured, the woman was defiantly gazing at him straight at his eyes.
With her so close to him, Luther almost forgot himself for a moment.
For some reason, he just wanted to lean in a bit more closer and bite down on her angry lips.
But he controlled himself and leaned closer to Su Lin, whispering in her ears, with his hot breath caressing her.
"How about we talk like adults for a minute?"
Su Lin struggled and broke loose from his grips. Her heart was thumping crazily, looking at the hateful guy in front of her.
She didn't want to come face to face with his devilishly handsome face again.
Luther grinned and signaled with his hand, asking her to sit on the couch in the living room.
Su Lin scoffed angrily and stomped over to sit down. If hearing him out was going to make him disappear from her life, then it's well and good. She was fine with doing exactly that.
Luther sat down opposite to her and gazed at her seriously with his sharp eyes. His charming grin was no longer visible.
"I would like to thank you for saving my life. Thanks. I am forever in your debt. Though the kindness you have shown to me is priceless, I would like to offer you some monetary compensation."
"Would you be okay with that?" Luther was half expecting her to reject his offer, acting self-righteous and what not.
But he didn't know that Su Lin was much more shameless than him.
"How much?" Su Lin eagerly asked. Her interest in this conversation suddenly spiked.
It looked like she was going to get some money and she would also be rid of this troublesome sexy maniac! Two for one offer!
Of course, she wouldn't object such a good deal!
"Hai?" Luther sighed. He gave up. This woman really is willing to let me go for some money?
He shook his head helplessly. "Give me your account number. I will transfer the amount. You won't be disappointed."
Su Lin got up and went inside her room, returning a few seconds later with her account details on a slip of paper. "Here."
She handed him the slip and then walked over to the door, holding it open.
Luther was utterly shocked. No one has ever treated him like this, like some sort of unwanted garbage.
He was ridiculously handsome for godsake! Even his enemies about to be prey to his knife, looked at him with yearning and awe!
How could this woman not be affected even a little??
He took the slip and silently left. A few seconds later a maniacal laughter echoed outside the guest house.
