After almost two bottles of wine, Chloe was feeling relaxed and she couldn't even remember the speech she had prepared in her mind to intimidate Evan.
She was lying on the couch when the door opened and a tired Evan appeared. Chloe tried to get up quickly, but got dizzy so she preferred to stay seated.
Evan took off his tie and looked around, watching the little mess she had made there.
“Celebrating the new home, huh?” he said while he was sitting on the couch beside her. “We could have celebrated together.”
“You were too busy and I didn't want to wait.” she had a sarcastic tone of voice.
“Is there a problem?” he frowned and glanced at her.
“I don’t know, Evan. Is there?”
“I’m just tired, Chloe. I had a long afternoon today. I have a lot of accumulated work due to our days away.” he said while leaning his head on the couch and closed his eyes for a moment.
“Was the desire to see Jill accumulated as well?” she dared to ask.
