Chapter 1: Chapter One

Nazwa has been restless for a week. She doesn't understand why Rafi is so objecting to her marriage plan with Kafka. She felt that there was something Rafi wanted from her. She knows Rafi's character. Nazwa was still dumbfounded remembering the conversation she had with Rafi when he took Salsabila and Hanif to her house. This week is Salsabila and Hanif's share with her after a few weeks ago they were at Rafi's house.

"It's true what Salsa said, if Kafka wants to marry you?" without any introduction, Rafi asked Nazwa who did not expect that Rafi would discuss her problems.

“Going there, we are preparing everything," Nazwa explained slowly.

"How quickly did your heart turn towards me, Naz?" asked Rafi.

"It means?" Nazwa didn't understand.

"Yes. As soon as you are ready to undergo a relationship towards marriage. Even though we officially separated only two years and ten months. But you have already set your heart on someone else!” quipped Rafi.

Nazwa prayed in her heart to hear Rafi's words. This adult man in front of her still thinks like a child. Where everyone must understand and grant his every wish.

"Raf, your question is funny, isn't it?!" said Nazwa in response to Rafi's words.

"Funny?" Taut Rafi doesn't understand.

"Funny! Because this separation is your wish. You let me go. How come you now object if someone has good intentions towards me," Nazwa reproached, not understanding.

"Who objected?" said Rafi.

"You! Your question is related to my feelings for you, doesn't that mean you mind if I give my heart to someone else?" exclaimed Nazwa back.

"I was just thinking about the kids, Naz." Rafi's deception.

"Children? What's wrong with them? I see they can accept Kafka. After all, Kafka also loved them. He received me a package with the children.” Nazwa took a deep breath. “You know, even he asked us not to stay in this relationship for too long because of the kids. Kafka doesn't want people to think negatively of me as a widowed," said Nazwa again.

Rafi was silent for a moment before asking again. "Have you asked the kids what they think, Naz?"

"Not yet. Why really?” Nazwa didn't understand.

“You should also consider their opinion, before severing your relationship with Kafka. They are also the ones who will live with Kafka in the future. It's not just you," Rafi pouted.

Deg. Rafi's words touched his heart.

“Naz, if I may ask, what made you decide to marry Kafka? How good is Kafka in your eyes? What do you see in a Kafka?” this time Rafi asked in a low voice.

He looked at the woman sitting in front of him. Nazwa. Her name is Nazwa Rengganis. The woman who accompanied him in the household ark for twelve years. The woman who gave birth to his two little angels, Salsabila and Hanif. A woman who has been so patient and understanding of all his difficult behavior and habits. And the woman he had dumped without giving her a chance to defend herself. Without knowing the reason for their divorce. Ironically, all of Nazwa's goodness spread out clearly when he no longer has Nazwa. It is true what wise people say, we will realize we have lost something valuable to us when we no longer have it.

"Didn't it occur to you that we could get back together, Naz?" without waiting for Nazwa's answer, Rafi asked again.

"A rope that was intertwined and then accidentally severed, then will be reconnected?" Nazwa asked Rafi and herself. She exhaled. "Sorry, Fi. It's not in my life dictionary!" Nazwa answered firmly.

“Even for the sake of the children?” Rafi insisted.

Nazwa was silent. She couldn't answer. She loves Rafi and his two children. But it was Rafi's act of filing for divorce in court that made an impression on her heart. Nazwa never thought her marriage would end like this. She never understood how big of a mistake she had made, until Rafi dropped the divorce for her. As Naz recalled, she had fulfilled all of Rafi's wishes as her husband. When Rafi wanted her to leave her job and concentrate on taking care of the family, Naz immediately resigned from her job after giving birth to Salsabila, their first child. When Rafi wanted Nazwa to no longer join the club where she shared his hobbies of baking and planting, Nazwa complied.

Whatever Rafi's wishes and orders have been obeyed, even though she has to give up her own interests and pleasures. But what she got was a divorce from Rafi. Even now, when she has managed to dispel her sadness and decide to start a new life with another man, Nazwa still doesn't understand why Rafi divorced her. And now, why is it Rafi who seems to blame his decision to remarry?

Nazwa shook her head not understanding. “Rafi, I think you already know the answer. Thanks for bringing the kids. Sorry, it's late now. I want to accompany the children to rest,” Nazwa expelled gently.

Rafi exhaled hearing Nazwa's words. He knew it would be difficult to change Nazwa's heart. However, he will not back down to achieve his wish. "Okay. I am home. Next week I will pick up the children to stay at my house again," said Rafi annoyed.

At that time, Nazwa just nodded in agreement. She closed the door as soon as Rafi turned around and walked out of her house. After that she went to Salsa and Hanif's room, said goodnight and went into her own room.

She had been thinking hard for seven days, trying to find out and understand why Rafi said all that. Back to him? Nazwa smiled in disbelief. The man who had lived with her for twelve years could have said those words with ease.

You let me go Fi! You divorced me! Now you want me to come back to you?! How selfish of you! Nazwa cursed in her heart. I don't think about children when I want to remarry? Hey, didn't you think about the kids when you let me go?! Again Nazwa shouted in her heart.

The ringing of the phone interrupted the conversation about her heart and head that had been in her head for the past few days. She picked up the receiver and opened the greeting, "Assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikumsalam. Excuse me, can I speak to Nazwa Rengganis?” a woman's soft voice returned the greeting.

“I am Nazwa Rengganis. Sorry, who is this?" Nazwa asked because she was not familiar with the caller's voice.

"I'm Renata, Nazwa. Rafi's friend. Well, if I may, I'd like to ask for a meeting. I have something important to say. But it feels like a phone call isn't very convenient."

Nazwa's brows furrowed. Important thing? About what?

"Hello Naz. . . Nazwa?!” The voice on the other end came back because Nazwa didn't answer.

"Uh, yes. Sorry. Before, what's the important thing huh?” asked Nazwa expressing her curiosity.

"Mmm. . . About . . . The reason you were divorced by Rafi!”
