Chapter 1: PROLOGUE

Beneath the surface of the bright world. Hidden a chamber lies deep beneath the majestic Empire. Where it could only be accessed through a series of secret tunnels known only to a select few. The place was called the Nihilus Soul Prison.

The Nihilus Soul Prison is a place filled with suffering, despair, and a sense of loss that has a dark aura and emits negative energy that feels piercing to the soul.

Prisoners trapped there will feel isolated and deprived of the meaning of their lives. Those who have lost everything from love to being unable to achieve their goals and dreams.

It is the perfect place to punish the most evil and hateful criminals in the empire. Prisoners thrown into this prison had to climb down narrow, dark staircases, down steep hallways covered with boulders that seemed to threaten to collapse at any moment.

Unfortunately, Sera had to endure it all. Being in the center with the other prisoners who continuously let out roars of anguish created a frightening and tense atmosphere. Inside the room, Sera curled up covering her ears and eyes with both palms hoping that the sound would drown out.

However, to no avail, the sound became more and more audible in her ears. Suddenly, she heard the sound of the door of her room opening. A person walked towards her with a sword in his right hand as if he was ready to kill her.

"Lu-cian," Sera called in a hoarse voice.

"Stop calling my name with that filthy mouth of yours," Lucian said sharply.

Sera looked sadly at the man. Did he hate her that much? Her heart ached every time she received words or behavior from him.

"I'm sick of it, every time I see that behavior of yours. I hate you. I hate you so much that I want to kill you right then and there." Lucian said, giving him a disgusted look.

"Lucian," Sera muttered.

"That's the last thing I'm asking you. Why did you plan this, Sera?" Asked Lucian with an intense glare.

"Because I love you, Lucian. If you had confessed to me or at least appreciated my love. I wouldn't have done this." Sera replied fragilely. Now her tears of sadness came out. Her heart really hurt and broke every time she recalled the events she had received from Lucian.

"I really sincerely love you. But you never appreciate that. Your gaze was only on her. Only on her. While you never saw me who always tried to make you see me, even for a second." Sera said. The moaning voice sounded even sadder to anyone who heard it. There was a sense of hopelessness in every sentence that came out of her mouth.

"How unworthy am I to be with you, Lucian," Sera said.

"You don't deserve it, Sera. You should know that no matter how hard you try to make me love you. You won't be able to." Lucian replied with a cold, piercing voice.

"Why, Lucian? Is it because of Eva?" Sera asked with a sad smile.

"You know the answer," Lucian replied briefly. Instantly the sound of laughter emitted by Sera boomed throughout the room.

"Eva. Eva. Eva." Sera screamed. "What exactly is it that makes her the center of your attention." She continued.

"She has what you don't have," Lucian said which instantly made Sera's face change to anger.

"You know, Lucian. My hatred for Eva was because of you. Now my hatred for her has grown so much that I want to kill her right now." Sera hissed.

"You should have caught me when I had successfully killed him. Wouldn't that have been better? I can't get you. You can't get him either." She said.

"You devil." Lucian hissed.

"You, you made me a devil, Lucian." Sera retorted.

"I'm really sick of you," Lucian said before the sword that had been in his hand slashed Sera's neck very quickly. The blood splattered all over the room.

His sharp eyes gazed viciously at Sera's corpse. And called out to one of the guards who had been standing in front of the room. "Hang this woman's head at the main gate of the empire and make sure everyone sees it."
