Chapter 46: Life is a Bitch
I sighed, having just cleaned myself up, and wore a simple [Mechanic Jumpsuit] to cover myself. As I walked out into the lobby of Nighteye's agency, I found Veronica waiting there with Eri in her arms. They were talking, or rather, Veronica was and Eri spoke very little.

'Great,' I thought with a sigh as I made my way towards them, 'They're bonding somewhat.'
.
As I made my way over to them, I saw that Eri was shaking like a leaf in the win. And she had my duster folded up against her chest. When I made myself known, Eri looked like she was about to jump from Veronica's arms. Veronica saw this and set her down, holding her hand before walking over to me. When she got to me, she all but crashed into my leg.

"Miss me much?" I asked her as I rubbed her head.
"Yes," She mumbled but I heard her.
"Was Veronica mean to you?" I asked, "If she was, I'll beat her up."
"Hey!" Shouted an annoyed Veronica. "I wasn't mean to her. We talked, that's all."
.
I chuckled at that, knowing her, she probably did all the talking. But, it's Veronica, she loves kids. Even in the Mojave, she had a soft spot for kids. Something I didn't have.

"No, she was nice," Eri said as she looked up at me with her big red eyes. "But she did talk a lot."
"That's just mean," Veronica mumbled but had a smile.

We went back and forth with a few words here and there. Keeping it clean due to Eri being there.

Six sighed as he looked at the sleeping Eri who was cuddled up against his side as Veronica drove them back to UA. Ever since Six rescued Eri, she's been attached to him worse than a mutated leech. Not that Six minded, she was adorable. Not that he'll tell anyone that he thought so. Veronica, on the other hand, understood Six's minute changes in expressions and movements. So she understood or at least had a thought of what Six was thinking.
As they drove back, Six unconsciously rubbed Eri's back as she slept Veronica saw this and smirked to herself.

"She's taken quite the liking to you," Veronica commented to which Six just snorted.
"Worse than a mutant Leech," Six said as she snuggled closer.
"At least she's adorable," Veronica spoke as she made a turn, "More so than the leech."
.
Six just sighed again as they entered UA. Once the car was parked, they exited with Six carrying Eri on his shoulder. As they entered the school, the students that were there looked at Six incredibly as he carried Eri. It didn't help the fact that Eri was slightly drooling on his shoulder. Six didn't mind as he had worse things cover him.

"Wow, she sleeping soundly," Veronica commented as they entered the teacher's offices. "She probably hasn't slept this well since she awakened her quirk."
"You're most likely right," Yagi said as he watched as Six set Eri onto the couch that they had in the office.
"It doesn't matter," Six sighed as he laid his duster over her and went to his desk, "She's safe now."

Little did he know, Midnight was watching him. Drool slightly came out of her mouth as she watched him act like a single father.

"Anyway," Aizawa sighed and spoke up, "We have an issue."
.
That got all the teachers' attention.
.
"Overhaul was attacked before he was transferred to Tartarus." He explained. "Shiragaki destroyed his arms before killing three officers and disappearing."
"Well, shit," Six commented, "Well, at least he won't be an issue anymore."
.
A few were off put by Six's comment, but the others agreed with him. Those being Veronica and Aizawa.

"Anyway," Six said as he saw that, "What do we do about her?" Six asked while pointing at the sleeping Eri.
"Well, normally we would give her to an orphanage associated with the HPSC or UA," Midnight spoke up. "But with her quirk, it might be better for her to be under our direct supervision."
"I agree," Aizawa stated, "Her quirk is far too dangerous for her to be left alone."

Six agreed that she should be under their supervision and the fact that her quirk was too dangerous to be without someone to watch her. But, the fact that just a little girl had to go through all this was sickening to Six. But he understood that she was currently only stable due to Six rescuing her and being nearby.

"Then we need to introduce her to other people she can trust," Six said suddenly grabbing everyone's attention. "While she's stable, we need to introduce people she can come to trust."
"A sound idea!" Nezu said as he appeared out of nowhere. "But we need to be careful of who we pick to interact with young Eri."
"Then I nominate young Tsuyu Asui," Yagi said as he raised his hand, her file in said hand. "With two younger siblings, she is a good candidate for Eri to interact with."
"A wise choice," Nezu said, "But we need someone who understands what type of trauma she has been through."
"Midoryia Izuku," Six spoke up, "During what I found out about him before he awakened his quirk, he was a target of ridicule and hate. Death threats were common and he was used as a punching bag by a few other students. I nominate him."
"I see," Nezu spoke before he began thinking while sipping some tea from a tea cup that he suddenly had. "But we have one last question to answer, what would she think?"

Six heard quiet shuffling from the couch and saw that Eri was waking up. Sighing and walking over to her, Six calmly scooped her up and held her once again. Eri released a massive yawn and started to rub her eye as she awoke. When her unfocused eyes found him, Eri laid her head back down and went back to sleep on Six's shoulder.

"So, Midoryia and Tsuyu," Six asked as he looked at the gathered teachers. "Anyone else?
"It would be for the best if we limit how many people she meets with for now," Nezu spoke, "That way she is less likely to have a nervous breakdown and use her quirk."
"Agreed," Was the mutual agreement.
.
From then on, Eri was kept in the UA dorms. Well, Six's dorm as she was too scared to bunk with anyone else. But that was neither here nor there, just Six gaining another kid that he has to look after.

"Okay, class," Aizawa announced as he and Six entered Class 1-A, "It's been a month since the Hero Work Studies and all of you have done well so far."
"But now, and I can't believe I'm the one who has to say this," Six sighed and spoke to the class. "You have a new challenge ahead in the form of the UA School Festival."

That got a roar of approval from the majority of the class. A few, namely Kirishima, had voiced their thoughts about this. Asking if it was a good idea to hold one with the number of Villians on the rise. Aizawa acknowledges the validity of Kirishima's point, but he explains the importance of the school festival concerning U.A. High's other curriculum streams, like the business and support courses. Six just kept quiet as he watched the students, lacking his iconic duster as Eri still had it close to her as she worked with Nezu who was testing her knowledge.
Since 1-A had to participate, Aizawa had Ida and Momo deal with what the class picked. Six sighed when they started to list off ideas. Some were fine, but others were idiotic. For example Denki's Maid café, Ochaco's Mochi Shop, Izuku's Hero Quiz, Mina's Dancing, etc. Six didn't know whether to be disappointed or angry since they couldn't decide on what to do. Finally, Aizawa had enough and gave them an ultimatum. Decide before tomorrow or do a lecture on Heroics. That got them to shut up for now.
Soon enough, the homeroom ended and classes began.
