Chapter 1: Prologue
The list was siting beside my professor. Staring at me. I knew from second I confessed it was game over. I could feel the tears building up in my eyes. I bit my bottom lip as I looked at the clock to then realize, there was less than five minutes left of class. Less than five minutes until he reads the list. Less than five minutes until my life is utterly over.
After some serious zoning out, the bell rang. Professor Shang stretched in his chair before he announced, " Emma, please come by my desk". I slowly stood up with my head hung low, since anything and everything I am about to say, I am not in anyway proud of.
He slowly picked up the list with innocents in his eyes, he read the list aloud. " Emma, Amy, Jake, and Mateo". He looked up at me in curiosity, as I opened my mouth to explain.
" Those are the people involved with this story" I whisper. He still looks at me like I am speaking a different language, so I explain further.
