Chapter 225: No time to relax

I'm not left to relax one single day before my return wakes up all the beasts. I can't stay in my room and play with Lars all day because I receive visits.

«The High Priest is here,» Bea says, slightly panicking.

«He wants to meet with me?»

«He... He said with the Regent.»

«That's me,» I point out.

«Yes, but... Till now, he has always asked about the Queen.»

«Oh, well... Let's see how official he wants to be. Let him wait for me in the office. I will meet him as the Regent and check his intentions. You stay here with Flavius and protect Lars, just in case.»

I collect my gowns and walk out, wearing the cloak before opening the door. The hallways are almost deserted, but I let the few eyes who spot me see my regal stance and confident steps. I just came back from the war, one we won. I won't be afraid of court intrigues now. Nor will I fear the consequences of what happened there.
