Chapter 2: It's sorta there

Sense they were low on money, Nil's parents had to start taking 2 night shifts at 2 different work places. John(father) was so stressed that he started drinking rum and whenever he got drunk, he would abuse Nil and Mary(mother) by throwing the empty bottles, Mary got a few cuts on her body and Nil had a lot of cuts on her arms,legs and a medium sized scar on her right eye. When John is asleep, Mary would quietly pray for a miracle to happen and she would also pray for the stress that John has, to disappear. And with Nil, she would try to fix her wounds and after that, she would lay down in her bed and cry hoping for the love of the family to come back.
