Chen Ming's expression remained confused as he stared at the ugly chick who came once again unannounced. He blinked and asked in his mind, "What are you talking about?"

Chen Ming didn't think the second male lead would come so soon. Wait, that reminds him, did he progress even the slightest bit in his first mission?

As if reading his mind, the chick showed the tablet and said, "Host, congratulations! The first male lead has fallen in love with you by 0.347484%!"

The chick showed the screen to the man and said, "This is your mission for him."

"The mission: Reject your mate."

Chen Ming couldn't help but open his mouth and ask, "Why don't you just tell me to have a smutty relationship with only the devil lord? Why are you even introducing him in the first place when you didn't want me to accept him in the first place?"

"Host, just fulfill your missions already, and you have no other choice anyway." The chick shrugged. "You have already accepted your mission. So…"

"I know." Chen Ming looked like he didn't care about this anymore. All he wanted was to feel this amazing every day, every second of his life. Since he was the one who jumped into this mess, he would live it to the end without any regrets.

Gao Wen flicked his fingers in front of Chen Ming's eyes all of a sudden, asking in amusement, "Where's your focus, boy?"

Boy?

Did this guy think Chen Ming was a little kid in front of him?!

Chen Ming decided not to answer the man. At this time, even he had forgotten that the one sitting behind him was the devil lord who had just killed someone right in front of his very own eyes.

Gao Wen raised his eyebrows as he let out a deep chuckle and leaned closer to the young man's ears, saying almost in a whisper, "Young boy, do you not fear me?"

Chen Ming still didn't want to reply as he finally got off the man's lap and walked toward the door. On the way, he tried not to glance at the dead body that had fallen to the ground for a while as he opened the door and walked out without turning back.

Gao Wen's expression finally had a hint of interest flashing in them, but it still wasn't enough to make someone fall for a puny, dead human. Of course, why wouldn't he be interested?

Before today, everyone who watched him make a kill either feared him the entire time, or they committed suicide right after seeing his cruel side. This particular young man was the only one in the entire universe who was probably not afraid of him anymore.

Gao Wen shook his head and called his butler.

The butler bowed respectively and glanced to the side, stunned. He knew soon after seeing the dead body that something was about to happen soon, and it won't be pretty.

"Don't worry about it." Gao Wen waved his hand casually as if he didn't care about it anymore. "I'll handle everything on my own. Thank you very much."

"But master!" The butler was even more anxious as he said, "If he comes at night, it's fine, but if he meets you in the daylight, you're in deep trouble! Since you don't have a mate, you're weak during the day, every servant and even the outsiders know this! What if he comes and-"

"Get out and take him away." Gao Wen's eyes turned dark as he glanced sideways, directly staring into the butler's eyes. "Right this instant."

The butler bowed his head respectively once again as he nodded. "As you say, master."

He called for several servants to clean up the room as he saw Gao Wen standing next to a window, staring outside into the sky. The butler sighed and turned around, busying himself in cleaning.

He knew perfectly well why his master didn't want a mate for himself. It wasn't that he couldn't, it was just that the trauma of his past was too much to handle, and that's why, his master decided not to have anyone beside him to share his pillow, especially not a human. But the tragedy was, the devil lord can only have one mate, and that should be a human.

The butler really tried his best to help his master, but he failed. Now….. Now he could only leave everything to the young man he brought recently. He seemed to be a better prospect than anyone else.
