Chapter 1: Heaven to Hell

Among the men that walk the earth, there are a few who stand out. Some for their looks, some for their feats of strength. Others stand out the most for what they've dared to accomplish. And then there's the few who stand out for what they've failed to achieve or what they've failed to live up to. Some say talent is only meaningful when it's been properly acted on, while others may say the talented are the ones who percerviere. John was neither strong, incredibly good looking, smart, or talented. He was by all means, completely average. His family on the other hand, was just the opposite. His father and mother were skilled warriors who turned their battle prowess into skills which only inhanced their families already prestigious names. His father was a Mage turned doctor, and his mother was a warrior turned architect. His father could heal wounds, reattach limbs, and cure many kinds of basic ailments. His mother had created many major projects for the country, creating many cathedrals and cityscapes. Their first born son David, John's older brother, could drop temperatures down to freeze water instantly, while also being able to control the movement of ice. He was quite smart, and very skilled. His sister was a tenacious fighter who's fire was akin to a red hot forge. Being the third child, his parents had many hopes for him. In his younger years, he was seen to be very curious and attentive, never being very good at games at first but quickly learning ways to outsmart others. He showed promise, but was quickly forgotten when he got tested for magic. Kids showed their initial magical abilities at the age of 8, while at the latest being 10. Especially for a family of such as high stature, having a child who couldn't use magic would be a taboo and heavily frowned upon. Since his parents first two kids shows their abilities early on, they didn't even pay any mind of getting rid of John. To them, family was only a means of furthering themselves and their names. His older siblings were so caught up in their own realities that they didn't really care if he was never seen again. In the country of Velimfroy, it wasn't allowed for parents to get rid of their children before the age of 16. But his father being such a good healer, was able a find a suitable body to fake his sons death.

John awoke tk find himself being awoken to five men with masks on barging into his room. Being only 8, he screamed out. But for some reason, no sound came out. Even as he was gagged and thrown into a sack, he couldn't make a sound. He couldn't hear anything. All he could feel was getting tossed around like a rag doll, and then thrown into the back of a carriage. As it began moving, the silence began to lift. As he began to cry out, he felt a sharp object puncture his left arm. He soon began to feel tired, and passed out.

John awoke to no longer being in a bag or carriage, but to some alley way. He got up, and found that most of his clothes were gone. He had nothing: no shoes, no money, no food. All he had was a brown shirt, underwear, and some brown pants. As he got up, he felt his stomach begin to rumble. As he walked out of the alley way, he was knocked over by a large man, who quickly said "Watch where your going kid". As John looked up at the man, he was probably 6'2, and around 300 pounds. He was heavily overweight, with a large black coat covering his body. His teeth were mostly yellow, and his hair was black and greasy. As John began to look around, he saw that he was no longer in the capital city of Lu Veere, but in some other large city. As he remembered, the Country of Velimfroy had three large cities: Lu Veere, Jeva, and Obolon. John quickly got up, and asked the large man, "Sir, what city is this?" The man looked at him in a confused manner, and bellowed out " Did you knock your head when you fell over kid, this is the city of Vulusk. Better not walk around with your bell rung, or some old man is gonna snatch ya." As the man began to walk away laughing, John's once happy face soon slumped down, as he sadly knew where he was. While he wasn't as smart as his older brother, he knew his geography of the world very well. On the Akkon continent, their were only 5 major countries: Velimfroy, Soleanna, The Terran Federation, Alstenzia, and Darakia. The place he was now in was the Capital of Darakia, and was known to be a country full of slavery, deciet, black markets, and almost having no central government. The only thing holding it together was that the people their wanted no laws, and many groups fought to keep it that way. He just sat their on the dirty sidewalk, trying to understand how he even got here.
