Chapter 30: Rejoice!

Far away from Sydney, within certain mountain ranges, in one particular region, there was a small mountain.

No, it was better to call it a hill. The most peculiar thing about it was that it was shaped in the form of a skull but yet it had an earthy appearance.

At the bottom of the hill was an inconspicuous entrance that was well-hidden by deep-green leafy vines.

What could an unassuming door below a hill mean? Well, it was spooky and gave people the impression of being haunted by supernatural ghosts and spirits.

Who in their right mind would try to venture into such an ominous place? Only the crazy ones.

Beyond the door, there were signs of life as seen by the intricate small traditional lamps placed on either side of the path leading beyond the door.

Distant ominous sounds that seemed like incomprehensible cultist chants echoed in the air as one moved further away from the entrance.

In an open space that had the interior design of a temple of sorts, various cloaked figures with 3D wolf masks could be seen.

The hooded figures were all clad in red and black robes except for one individual who stood at the raised platform at the center.

The figure at the center was dressed in a ceremonious white robe of the highest quality.

The most common and interesting characteristic that they all shared was that…they were all women.

The feminine scent in the air was subtle yet strong at the same time. Any Chad or Tom would have been able to realize that the room was full of feminine energy. And crazy women to boot.

"Làtom, Oh my fellow sisters!" The woman who was on the platform cried out in majesty and humility.

It seems their ardent prayers had just ended and currently, they were onto the next phase.

"I saw it. I see it. The gates of our promised utopia have been opened!"

"And our god, the messiah, the one and all, born from nothingness, the true emperor of mankind that precedes even the Kaiju master has returned to the world!"

"The prophecy of the great one - Our Master - has been fulfilled. He who fell into the abyss and conquered once again blesses us with his presence in times of crisis."

"Let's rejoice in the advent of the Wolf of End, the Great Devourer, Father to us, the sisters of the night."

"All hail the one True God!" A reverential light shone in the head priestess's green eyes behind the mask.

"Thou shalt worship none other than the Bringer of Dread!"

"Praise be to the Ancient Wolf!"

Her pleasant voice was full of praise and worship for a god that didn't know of her existence.

"All hail the one True god!"

"All hail the Bringer of Dread!"

"All hail the savior of man!"

The other cult members began to avidly chant rhyming lines as if they had done so many times.

The fanaticism in play was very astronomical.

After that, the white-robed Head Priestess continued addressing her congregation.

"My fellow sisters as disaster befalls only, only HE can save us from extinction as per the prophecy!"

"Those that believeth in him shall rejoice eternally!"

The white-robed Head Priestess then gazed at one particular sister who was closer to the platform.

"Sister Mako, what do you have to testify about our god?" She asked pleasantly.

"The benevolence of our Lord is boundless. He took me from the valley of death and showed me the way to salvation. Without HIM, I wouldn't be alive." The one named Mako answered humbly, her sensual accent hinted at her Japanese origin.

Of all beings to be part of the sisters of the night and the devout worshippers of the God of Abyss, why did it have to be Mako?

It was hugely surprising. What exactly was her situation?

She was the most rational woman from PPDC but look at her play cultist shenanigans at creepy places.

Her circumstances were very suspicious.

If we zoomed closer to her eyes, they looked almost willless - her initial personality wasn't there.

She had been brainwashed by the Head Priestess who was miraculously psychically blessed to access the spiritual realm albeit to a limited degree.

The Head Priestess had realized her spirituality and unlocked her sixth sense on the day, Kaijus emerged from the Anteverse.

Prior to the awakening, she had a name -Dr. Katelyn Snow - but was now nameless.

She had been a pure believer of occultism which further pushed her to study the Kaijus and their creatures. Katelyn had the brains as she had been a full-time professor at a local university and she had mainly taught esotericism.

A crazy occult fanatic who had the brains could do many crazy things in the pursuit of their spirituality.

Her circumstances could be considered almost unbelievable and far-fetched.

Mako Mori - a top dog in the PPDC - had been the link that had made it possible for Dr. Katelyn - now Head Priestess or as she liked to secretly call herself, the unholy bride of his HOLINESS - to be able to access the entire database about the Kaijus and whatnot.

A blurry vision had led her to Mako, and with a little bit of manipulation and brainwashing facilitated by her newfound voice, she had brought the cute Japanese "imouto" into the religion.

By the grace of HIS immense, the Head Priestess had been able to create sub-branches all over the world by using the power of influential women to further spread the one True religion.

It had been a difficult endeavor but her belief in her god had been able to accelerate the spread of the religion that sought not of the light but of the dark.

They operated in the shadows.

Before the advent of the "Wolf that defied the principles of Heaven" - Her messiah - the Head Priestess experienced a glimpse of the yet-to-come.

She had seen a great crisis descending upon the world but the Great Beast that had been feared and sealed had been the one to save all of existence.

His howl that had surpassed the constraints of space had been the call of benevolence upon his children, as interpreted by the sisters of the night.

"How merciful of HIM!" The Head Priestess spoke with a reminiscent tone.

"Today, we shall not dine but pray for the Lord to achieve victory against forces that want to defy his authority!"

"Sisters from all over the world!" The Head Priestess said with urgency, her green eyes penetrating the camera set live and broadcasting to all the religious branches.

She then raised her fair white arms, skin unmarred by worldly stains, made pure for the sake of HIS holiness.

"Let's rejoice and pray and when victory and all of existence is his, we shall rally to welcome and worship him as per the scriptures!"

What followed next was a bunch of fanatical chants.

"Rejoice!"

"Rejoice!"

"Rejoice!"

"Rejoice!"

"VICTORY UNTO HIM!"

How was their wolf god going to respond to this once he finds out he was revered and worshiped by lots of women high on meth?

Of course, he had other problems to deal with at the moment!
