Carter smirked at Dahlia, "Yeah, Alpha Angus regrets rejecting her, too."

"Merrick is Regina's second chance mate, and she is about to give birth to a healthy, strong alpha heir for Alpha Garvin."

"Angus' chosen mate has yet to give him a single pup and Mrs. Garvin is now on the way to having her second child. Carter chuckled in a ridiculing tone, "I can imagine him knowing this piece of news is making Alpha Angus insane."

Dahlia sat up on the bed, listening to Carter as she dried the tears from her eyes.

Once her emotions calmed, she sat quietly while her fingers nervously played with the hem of her dress. She glanced up at Carter, wondering if it was okay for her to come closer, as she was feeling chilled.

He leaned back on the headboard to relax. She caught him as he studied her with his cobalt-blue eyes.

Carter could sense and tell his mate needed to be cuddled.
