Chapter 2: Chapter 2 : Daily Life with the devil
As day passed by, her hope of waking up from her dream slowly die. She begin to accept that everything happening now is real – probably a reincarnation of her previous life.
That scene in her dream, everything is too real. She finally accepted the fact that she was chased by a dog, being hit by a truck, and die a tragic life. If there is one thing she regret in that life, is that she has been working too hard to the point that she forget how to enjoy her youth, her life, her freedom. She work so hard for nothing, only coming home to a lonely house and not even enjoying her money that she work so hard to earn!
She vows to heaven that in this life, she will enjoy her life fullest and live like a wealthy goddess!
Well, sadly her dream was soon shattered by her cruel master.
Her daily tortures includes learning how to read and write, learning medicines, planting herbs and practicing martial arts. Not forget to mentions how she have to clean the house and do chores from the time she wake up till she fall asleep.
She wake up every morning at 6am, and her master will make her practice martial arts with him before making her water the herbs while listening to him explaining about herbs. Only after she finished watering, her master will let her have her breakfast before they have another sessions of writing and reading. She didn't tell her master that she actually can read and write well, so her master thought that she's a genius that he only need to explain once and she can actually read a whole book!
'This discipline of mine is really a genius!'
After a session of writing and reading ends, followed by lunch, she occasionally stood by her master, watching him preparing a bunch of pills and powders, passing him some herbs, listening to his explanations, taking mental notes. Once in a while, he will let her prepare the medicines herself, only to find himself agitated as he watch her destroys his precious medicine!
"Are you stupid? Are you even listening to what I said?? Can't you do it properly??? Don't waste my precious herbs! That's equivalent to your one month of food expenses!"
"Master, I'm only 5 years old and yet you expect me to do this thing! My hands are so small, okay? They're not strong enough to carry all these herbs!"
"Well, if you practice more martial arts in the morning, you will not be this weak!"
"…I'm only 5 years old.."
Well, a 25 years old soul living inside a 5 years old body, to be exact.
Their evening usually spend by more martial art practice and watering herbs, while her master occasionally quizzing her about the various herbs in his garden.
Once in a while, her master will took her down to the nearby town or city to sell the medicines at the medical pavilions. To her surprise, her master is actually a famous physician across the country who is well known to cure all kind of sickness.
'Yup, my master is the best. He's handsome, he's strong, and he's a famous high demand doctor. If only he doesn't like to yell at me every time I make mistakes.'
Her master make pills and medicines out of his boredom, just passing his time, he said. He received a lot of request to cure people, and depending on his mood, he will decide whether he want to save lives or not. That's really is the devil master of her.
After a few day outside the forest, when they're done selling their medicines and buying their daily supplies, they will go back to the peak of the mountain.
"Making medicines, curing people and protecting yourself with martial arts, this is the only skills I can teach you as your master. One day, when I'm no longer here, this skills should be sufficient to keep you alive and well fed."
"Master, stop talking like you're dying soon." Don't leave me alone, master. Who's going to feed me when you're no longer here? Truthfully, this girl is just too lazy to think that she have to do things all by herself.
"That's the truth about life", he stare at his discipline who's been stuffing sweet bun inside her mouth along the way. "Its almost time."
"Time for what?"
"…"
He smile at her, wondering how this sweet girl will survive if he's no longer here to protect her.
"Master, don't scare me", she look at her master who begin to walk in front of her.
"Ahhh, don't leave me, please."
His heart begin to ache, hearing her pleading him stay.
"Ahhh, my sweet bun, don't leave me! Don't leave me!" She start crying when her sweet bun start rolling on the ground when she accidentally drop them.
'Damn brat.'
The peak of the mountain are located inside a sacred forest. Its protected by a special array and only her master and her know the route back. People who wander inside the sacred forest will find themselves lost at the foot of the mountain, where the beasts reside. The forest are well known to be filled with vicious beasts, so people don't dare to approach the forest. Occasionally, she will wander around the forest, looking for wild herbs. The beasts, however, seems to respect her master and her so they never attempt to attack her. Thus, in just a few months, she turn into a total 'tarzan', running around the forest riding wolf, tiger and other wild beasts – proclaiming herself as the King of the Jungle.

"Master, who is this beautiful lady in this painting?" She ask her master who have been staring at the portrait on his study desk.
"She's my wife."
"Talking about wife, I never see her around."
"That's because she's no longer in this world."
'Opss…sensitive question.'
"Isn't she's beautiful?", he looks at the portrait lovingly, "we've been married for 3000 years. Never once in my life, I stopped loving her."
"3 years?"
"3000 years."
"…master.. how old are you?" she can't help but wonder if her master brain is totally damaged.
"hmm..I'm around 3500 years.."
"You're joking, right master? How can a human live that long?"
"Well, your master is not a human."
"A ghost?? A monster??" Damn, I've been living with a monster these past few months. That's it. I'm really is dead long ago.
"hmmm..probably a demon who eat small kid."
"Ahh.. No wonder master has been feeding me well this past few months. Turns out master is trying to fattening me up before stewing me, right?"
He can't help but laugh at this small mischievous monster he raise.
"I will be honest with you. I know you're only 5, I don't know if you will understand this", he stare at her from her head to toe before continuing, "Its true that I'm not a human, I have live for thousands years, waiting for the day when my wife's soul will be reincarnated, so I can follow her for rebirth. My only wish in life is to spend my lifetime with her, whether in this life, or in the next life, its always been only her," he smile as he touch the portrait in his hand, "These past years after her death, I have spent my life in isolation in this peak, distracting myself with medicines while waiting for her to be born again, and when that time comes, I will choose to be reborn again, so we can be together again, and I can tell, the time is coming very soon."
"…ahh.." There's a lump in her throat and she suddenly lost her words.
"That's why I need you to diligently study and learn everything while I'm here, so that you can take care of yourself when you're on your own."
"Master..you must love her so much.."
"Of course..she's the other part of my heart."
"Master, what does true love feels like? How can you love someone for 3000 years and still wanting to be with her in your next life?"
"You will know when the times come."
"How much time left you have, master?" She's calculating the time left for her to enjoy the luxury of having a master who provide everything for her.
"Probably, a couple years more left."
"Ahh..its coming soon.. won't you be sad leaving me all alone, master?" She look at this master of her who have been torturing her for the past few months.
"hmmm.. no."
'what a devil.'
"When the time comes for master to leave, I will be sad. But I will try my best to understand that master has his own life and I cannot possibly live by your side forever. Me too, one day, have to leave the nest and live my own life. Therefore, master, don't worry about me. I know how to take care of myself."
He rub her hair, smiling at this little devil he's been worrying about.
"That's good then, stop being so rebellious and learn everything while master is still here."
"Alright, master…err…master?"
"Yes?"
"Its dinnertime. When are you going to cook?" She rub her poor stomach who has been rumbling since the beginning of the conversations.
"Come, let's go to the kitchen. It's time for you to pick up some cooking skills."
And thus, that's how their daily life goes on for few years until she turns 10 years old.
