Chapter 41: Chapter forty-one
Roselyn scoffed glancing at him, Mark got up and gazed at her, like if he was waiting for her to walk away with him. Roselyn didn't know what to do, or better, she knew what she was supposed to do but was not sure it was also what she wanted. She had to leave with his boyfriend, the one who came there just to spend time with her and not to stare at her kissing other boys for a silly party game.
She got up from the sofa, even if that was the last thing she wanted to do. But kissing Andreas would just hurt her and Mark both. It would hurt her since she missed Andreas with all herself and kissing someone who you are feeling for does not bode well.
Andreas was probably just provoking her but she couldn't fall for it.
She held Mark's hand that he stretched toward her and they walked few meters away, hearing the complain of some people in the room that were waiting for drama to happen.
"I wonder if the principal is aware of the fact he parties with his students." Mark said frustated and shocked.
Roselyn shrugged, sighing: "I guess she figured it out and is okay with it unless it doesn't involve his work as a professor."
As words left her mouth she realized that the reason why he might have broken up with her could be that one. Maybe she suspected about their special relationship so he had to nip it in the bud.
She shook her head, she was probably overthinking because deeply down she couldn't accept the fact he left her.
How pathetic was she?
"Are you alright?" Mark asked noticing her quietness.
She smiled and went to fill up her glass with wine.
She forgot for a second that the person next to him was the Mark namely the person who would complain most about her drinking. As if she predected future there he goes:
"I thought you quitted drinking."
She forced herself not to roll her eyes and smiled instead. She did until Andreas happened.
"I did." She said going to pour the drink in the sink. He nodded smiling, "I know it must be hard for you to preserve your progress with nobody by your si-"
Roselyn scoffed aloud interrupting him speech. He frowned lightly, "Is there something wrong?" he asked.
"I just need to go to the bathroom." Roselyn said, and quickly stormed toward the bathroom. Obviously, it was a lie. What she really needed was a drink, or maybe few, enough to make her forget about all the mess she's gotten herself into.
She saw a few of guys smoking some joint, so she approached them checking if someone was seeing her, then she asked: "Where did you get that?"
She nodded toward the joilt they were holding but they giggled. "Girl, maybe you should start with a normal cigarette huh?" The blonde guy in the middle say as they all join in a common giggle.
Roselyn was not sure if the reason why they were laughing was really her question or just them being fatti, probably both.
"Fuck off." She spat turning around to leave when she heard the voice of one of them: "Do you really want it?"
She gazed at him and nodded, he opened the zip of his purse and Roselyn spotted some colored pills, papers and cannabis.
She standed on tiptoe trying to see better, "Is it molly?"
"Ohh, you're not a virgin huh?"
The two boys giggled checking her upside down, making her roll her eyes and checking around.
"I have even more powerful stuff, if you want?"
Her straight confident gaze made him suppose the answer so he digged in the later pocket of his backpack and grabbed few pills.
She felt grabbed from her elbow with a strong grip that she cries turning around to see who was hurting her.
Here he was: Andreas, glowering at her, "Are you out of your mind??"
Before she can say anything he dragged her inside the closest empty room.
"What were you thinking Roselyn??" He yelled furious.
"Just wanted to have fun. I don't need another person who controls me all the time. thanks for Mark can do it well himself." She said massaging the arm where she was grabbed.
"He doesn't seem he is controlling you now."
"Why, do you even care?" She screamed pushing him to realise her anger.
"Is Mark a bad influence? Drugs in the Otherworld are way more powerful."
He said still frowning.
"Arghh!" Roselyn released an agry scream and went to bang her fists again his breast for the anger.
"You're a bad influence!!" She finally spat as tears filled her eyes "You left me via text and ignored me all the day to just provoke me when you see me with someone else!!" She cried sighing and keeping punching him like if his breast was a punching bag. He grabbed her wrists as she kept crying.
"I'm sorry." He whispered, staring straight into her eyes.
His pupils dilatated but his gaze was pity like if he felt sorry for her.
"I've never should have accepted to date you."
He murmured, lowering his gaze.
Roselyn scoffed, wiping her tears away, forgetting about the mascara she was wearing so it left dark spots under her eyelid.
" Fuck." She said, nocing the damage she has done to her make up, seeing the ink on her fingers as well.
She reached the sink and washed the mascara off. It took some seconds to wash it completely since she didn't have any make up remover with her.
He was staring at her refection in the mirror and walked behind her. They look at each other through the mirror.
They standed there for some seconds then he went to delicately lasciato a kiss on her cheek and whispered. "I wish things were different. But they are not."
His words made Roselyn froze, looking at herself in the mirror and at the same time seeing the figure of him leaving the room.
She was left alone and now all she could see was the reflection of a broken hearted girl
