Cain stared at the orb for a few seconds before sending his Ego Wave into it. However, as soon as his red force field touched the orb, he immediately tried to pull it back since the luminous orb began to consume its energy like a ravenous beast.

If before the infusion of Merit made Cain feel his hand was set ablaze, now he felt his mind split in half due to the luminous orb draining his Ego Wave. It was an excruciating feeling, and the worst part was that it neutralized him, making it impossible to fight back.
