Chapter 32: Betrayal and Redemption: Kakashi's Clash with Danzo!
Back above the Hokage statues, Shisui was still stunned by Kakashi's plan,
'Is this the only way to save the Uchiha and the village? And Arashi…'
He looks at Kakashi and asks,
"Kakashi, do you know what you're asking me to do?"
"I do.
How much do you love your brother? Will you sacrifice Itachi's well-being for him and the clan?
Think about it, using Kotoamatsukami on Fugaku will do no good, we both know your clan is beyond reason, so there's no point in that too."
"I…" Shisui looked away.
"I can't make this decision." He said with a clenched fist.
"Before I continue, let's go somewhere else, people have been listening in on us. Don't look, but they're hiding behind us. I can smell them." Kakashi says.
His nose was twitching, there was a scent he was catching.
"How long has he been there?" Shisui asks without looking suspicious.
"I don't know, but let's go somewhere else."
"Sure."
Shisui and Kakashi stood up to leave.
Later, the day had ended, and Arashi was leaving school. Most of the children were being picked up by their parents or their elder siblings.
"Hey, Arashi! Let's go train together!" Naruto yelled as he ran towards him.
Arashi smiled,
"I can't, I'm supposed to meet Shisui right now. How about we train tomorrow?"
"You're meeting Shisui?" Naruto asks,
Arashi nods with a smile,
"Uh huh, he says he has a surprise for me."
"Oh, I see…" Naruto says, his voice a little sad, but he looked up with a smile,
"Well then, see ya later!" He said joyfully as if he wasn't sad just a moment before.
Arashi nodded,
"Bye Naruto!"
Arashi flickered ahead and started heading toward the Naka River.
He hadn't been there in a while and it was almost sundown, that was the time Shisui was supposed to be there
As Arashi headed to the river, Shisui and Kakashi were running through the forest,
"So that's the plan?" Shisui asks, as he swiftly travels through the trees.
"Yeah."
"It's messed up…" Shisui says,
"I know.
But I'm only thinking of Arashi and the well-being of the village here. The Uchiha clan is part of the village, too. That's why I avoided too much conflict, even though it'll be a lot to sacrifice."
Shisui looked back with sorrow,
"It's too much to sacrifice. Itachi will hate me if I do this. It goes against everything I've told him and-"
"Hold on."
Kakashi stopped running.
They were on a tree above a grassy area.
"What is it?" Shisui asked curiously,
"Look out!"
Whoosh! There was a sound of something flying through the air.
Kakashi and Shisui flickered out of the tree and onto the grass.
Poof… In an instant, an explosion rang throughout the woods and left the tree askew and the surrounding trees burning, it was an explosion tag left by the enemy triggered by a kunai to slow down Kakashi and Shisui and provided ample opportunity for an ambush.
"It's an ambush, more are on their way!"
Kakashi removed his Anbu Katana as one of the enemies used the smoke from the explosion to get close, Kakashi clashed blades with the ninja and was on the defensive.
Shisui activated his Sharingan and unsheathed his tanto. A different ninja took this opportunity to drop a smoke bomb containing poison gas.'That scent…' Kakashi frowned, recognizing that scent.
"Careful with that purple smoke, I'm sure you can already tell, but it's poison."
Whoosh! Kakashi flickered behind the assailant right as Multiple shinobi wearing masks and hooded cloaks, the foundation uniform arrived surrounding them.
In the middle, an old man with black shaggy hair and a bandage on his right eye glared at them.
He strolled with a cane towards them.
"Danzo sama! What is this?! Are you going against the village?" Kakashi asked, his eyes narrowing into a furred brow.
"On the contrary, I am doing this for my village. The Uchiha clan is planning to stage a coup d'état and I am willing to sacrifice them for the sake of the village! Danzo let out a horrendous laugh. Kakashi Hatake, you are the one who is standing against the village here."
Kakashi glances at Shisui, Shisui grits his teeth as he was enraged,
'That whole meeting was a scam, he was planning to do this either way.'
"We'll go through with the plan just as I said. I won't let my friends die." Kakashi says to reassure him,
"Right." Shisui was met with discontent in his words.
Kakashi and Shisui got ready to fight and cover each other's backs.
"I'm warning you, I train far more than I used to, so this won't be a fair fight for you," Kakashi said as he uncovered his Sharingan.
Shisui threw kunai towards the foundation shinobi and rushed towards them using the body flicker,
Cling! Their kunai clashed and signaled the beginning of a long fight.
He clashed blades with 2 shinobi wearing masks. Struggling to keep the balance between the two.
Crack…
Boom! With the crackle of lightning, Kakashi slipped underneath one of them and jumped back up with an uppercut, knocking him out.
Kakashi jumped from underneath one of them with a rising uppercut, knocking him out.
While his partner tried attacking Kakashi, Shisui caught a glimpse of his eyes and put him in a genjutsu,
Whoosh! The air surrounding them was so silent you could hear every stroke of the blades they used, and during the calm of the fight, a sudden change in the air pressure alerted them to five other shinobi closing in.
Kakashi makes quick hand seals and takes a deep breath,
Boom!! His hand movements were quick and just, and with the last of it he took a deep breath in and expelled a giant fireball toward them,
'Fireball jutsu!'
Shisui looks around and sees more shinobi around them and infuses fire release into his tanto and shoots giant waves of fire toward Danzo,
'Uchiha style: halo dance!'
Multiple shinobi stood in front of Danzo and shot out giant balls of water toward them.
"Water style: Water bullet jutsu!"
Boom! The sizzle of water and fire created a veil of steam, allowing Shisui to move in and clash with the enemy in the middle, causing the veil to expel outward.
'Now!'
Kakashi didn't waste time and bit his finger, then made hand seals,
"Summoning jutsu!"
*Poof!* In a cloud of smoke, several dogs appeared surrounding the enemy ninja.
Kakashi summoned multiple dogs.
"Shisui, get out of here, I have a plan to escape."
"You can't, you'll get killed."
"Just do it, or else this won't work.
We'll meet later, don't do anything without me, just let me distract them."
Shisui was hesitant to leave. He clenched his fist as he struggled to make a choice,
"Think about Arashi, if you die here, he'll be alone and he won't forgive me for it."
Shisui's eyes widened,
"Alright, make sure you survive. He won't forgive me either if I left you to die."
Kakashi nods,
"Of course, I'll make a diversion so you can get away." Shisui nodded.
Kakashi made hand signs.
"Lightning blade!"
Screech… Kakashi's hand began to let off steam as fire enveloped it and became a pale blue flame before exploding creating a smokescreen, through the smoke all the ninjas could make out was a lightning jutsu the low hum of the blade piercing the quiet of the forest.
A sound resembling the sound of multiple chirps echoed in the steamy forest.
"Aaah!" Danzo frowned upon hearing his men falling and dying.
"Stay close!"
"Only 14 of you left," Kakashi said as an echo.
They couldn't see where he was and what he was doing.
Danzo made a hand sign and then inhaled a huge amount of air…
"Wind Style: vacuum bullet!"
Danzo shot out multiple small blasts of wind which cleared the fog.
Danzo's eyes widened as he saw Kakashi in the air, aiming his lightning blade toward him.
He quickly aimed at Kakashi and shot the wind bullets toward him,
Kakashi's eyes widened seeing the blasts of wind heading towards him,
'No good, I'm wide open here.'
The bullets of wind hit Kakashi, and he fell to the ground,
"Ugh…"
Poof!
Kakashi's body turned into a log of wood,
Danzo grits his teeth,
"Copy Ninja Kakashi Hatake.
Your name doesn't deceive you at all.
You're very skillful with something that's not yours."
Kakashi was panting while trying to keep calm.
"Now!"
Boom!
Multiple dogs came out of the ground, holding a net and jumping from different directions.
Whoosh! Danzo and his men flickered away and into the bushy forest,
"Is that it? You wanted to capture us with dogs?"
"No, that wasn't it. This was."
Danzo looked behind him and saw Kakashi with Lightning in his hand.
"Lightning blade!"
Boom!
Kakashi's hand pierced the tree and Danzo as he coldly stood behind Danzo,
"Huff… Huff…" Kakashi fell to one knee and panted.
'I hope Hokage-sama can forgive us for this. We'll need some sort of explanation."
"Maybe I'll just-"
Splash…
Kakashi's eyes widened after feeling a blade through his chest.
"Leave him alive, I want to take his eye while it's still warm." Kakashi frowned, hearing Danzo's voice again.
"I-I thought I killed you already." His eye slowly pans towards Danzo on his side,
"Hmph.
Don't let your guard down around me."
Danzo stretched his hand towards Kakashi's eye…
Buzz!!!
Lightning spread through the forest as Kakashi turned into lightning, shocking everyone around him.
"That's what happens when you let your guard down around me, too.
I have something to live for now. I won't just throw my life away."
The real Kakashi was far from Danzo and his subordinates, he fell on one knee feeling his clones all disperse.
"Get them now! We can't let anyone hear a word of this!" Danzo commanded.
"Yes, sir!"
His subordinates started chasing after Shisui and Kakashi,
