(This story is a project I've been planning to write for 2 years. I really hope you enjoy it! Please like and comment. Xoxo)
Agonized as I am, I've been silent since maths period started. The anticipation of my previous test results is weighing heavily on my shoulders with each second that passes by. I tried my best in preparing for that test and I can only hope my results will reflect on my effort. As soon as Mr Karuma lays the script on my desk, I take a deep breath in before looking at it. "Well done young lady!" he says with a smile beating me to the punch and moves on to the next row to continue handing out scripts.
*68%* is written on the top corner of my script followed by Mr Karuma's comment which reads *good work!*. Fireworks immediately start going off in front of my eyes from overwhelming joy. It may not seem like much but I'm satisfied with what I've managed to obtain. Now that that's over I can start enjoying the rest of my day stress free.
Majority of my classmates chant "yes" as they look at their scripts and noise starts to erupt. It seems as though everybody did well considering the fact that Mr Karuma didn't bring his salty attitude to class today. He rarely smiles yet today he gave a few smiles as he was handing out scripts to some students, including me. "Settle down everyone" he orders as he takes a seat behind his desk.
"Let me start off by saying congratulations to all of you. You've made me so proud. Everybody obtained 50% and above which is excellence in my eyes. There are those of course who did exceptionally well. Miss Matheba excellent work!". Some clap their hands and a few boys whistle probably because of the confusion of who this " Matheba"girl actually was and the awkwardness that nobody seemed to know her for some reason. I for one have never heard of that surname before and I've been at this school for 3 years. Perhaps she's not a social person who knows?
Maths period ends after an hour of writing notes and as the bell rings everybody stands up to leave. I collect my things and as I get ready to walk out I hear what sounds like someone calling my name. I turn around and its David.
