Alex was quite satisfied to be a transmuter. Especially because it's his favorite Nen Type.
An affinity for Transmutation means a person can change the properties of their aura to mimic something else or replicate specific attributes. Transmuted aura can be made to take on the properties of natural elements, man-made substances, and even animals, among other things. Transmuters can also give their aura certain properties instead of replicating the characteristics of a substance in their entirety
Alex already has a good idea of what he wants to do with his first Nen ability so he started to create his first Hatsu.
3 hours later and Alex successfully managed to create his first Nen ability.

Name: Magnetic Touch
Type: Transmutation + a bit of Enhancement
Alex turns his aura into a substance that by touching a creature/object causes it to positively charge or negatively charge (magnetic force) this creature/object. Alex's right hand can negative charge anything he touches, and his left hand is the same just with positive charges. Alex can also cover himself in magnetic force and give himself a charge.
positive charges amplify any creature or object it is charged with. with creatures the basic attributes are boosted depending on the amount of the positive charge Nen and with an object, the hardness and sharpness are increased depending on the amount of the positive charge Nen
negative charge weakens any creature or object charged with it. with creatures, the basic attributes are weakened depending on the amount of the negative charge Nen and with an object, the hardness and sharpness are weakened depending on the amount of the negative charge Nen

This ability seems very simple and weak but it is extremely useful with the right use. Also, the potential of this ability is promising.
Alex had already some good ideas with Enhancement and Emission supplement NEN skills that add to his main ability.
but the main reason Alex developed this Nen ability wasn't that he thought it was incredibly powerful (not only), but because he would understand it better than he would of other Nen abilities.
He often played with magnets as a child and he also understood quite a bit about how they work.
Alex, who remembered the Hxh show, knew that a Nen ability couldn't be developed to become the strongest.
When he thinks of the other Transmuters like Hisoka and Killua as a reference, it's clear that a good understanding of the properties is extremely important.
Alex is relatively familiar with magnets and he knew that there were no magnetic monopoles in his world. (A magnetic monopole would have a net north or south "magnetic charge")
If a bar magnet is cut in half, it is not the case that one half has the north pole and the other half has the south pole. Instead, each piece has its own north and south poles.
Alex being able to solo charge an object or creature is really weird and only possible because Transmuter only transforms Nen with properties of the thing and not Nen into properties of the whole thing.
that's a big difference.

Although, It took Alex a long time to create this ability.
Around 3 hours doesn't seem long, it's because of the first Hatsu's development boast and not because this NEN ability was easy to create.
Also, this first Hatsu's development boast is at its strongest in the first few minutes and gets weaker after each past minute.
That's also why Alex gave up his first plan to copy a particular nen ability of one HxH Charakter.
Even so, the ability that Alex created was extremely difficult to create and would normally take Alex months or years to create normally. or at least Alex thinks so.
Especially the additional ability that can strengthen or weaken, positive charges and negative charges objects or creatures takes the most time to "create".
But Alex wanted to take advantage of this first Hatsu's development boast as much as possible so he didn't give up that function.
Luckily he managed to create this Nen ability before the first Hatsu's development boast became so weak that it can hardly help Alex anymore.
After creating this Nen ability, Alex felt like the [Nen] skill was really cheap for what it allows for.
Alex was extremely happy with his [Nen] Skill. Apart from the fact that his skill allows him other things. He automatically mastered all Basic Nen Techniques (not hatsu) and all Advanced Nen Techniques after purchasing the [Nen] skill. Also, his whole body became stronger after his body now possesses Nen. Even possessing Nen passively strengthens his body extremely.
During these 3 hours, he muted the noise from the system so that he can fully concentrate on creating his Nen ability.
Gandalf and the Scythers killed many creatures during this time.
[Mouth Mushroom was killed. The User has gained 6 experiences and 3 Gold.]
[Green Mouth Mushroom was killed. The User has gained 180 experiences and 99 Gold.]
[Giant Acid Toad was killed. The User has gained 75 experiences and 38 Gold.]
[Large Acid Toad was killed. The User has gained 4 experiences and 2 Gold.]
Alex had no idea how strong this new creature is but judging by the experiences and gold amount, it should be a lot stronger than the other three creatures.
Also, it seems like Alex's theory was actually correct and that the starting point of each participant is not surrounded by strong creatures. or at least for most of the participants, it is.
Only when Gandalf and the Scythers go further away from Alex's territory did they find such creatures.
Alex checked his status to see if anything had changed.

After Alex created his Nen Ability, his Combat Strength Rating went from a D+ to a C-. Though the 5 extra levels probably helped Alex get that rating a bit too. However, Alex's attributes have not changed. it seems that these 5 levels were not enough.
In addition, he has earned more than 1000 gold in these 3 hours. But Alex wanted this speed increase so that he decided to leave his territory as well.
He should now be more than strong enough to kill anything Scyther can defeat.
