Chapter 142: Keep their appetite 2.0

This is the same chapter as before, but I am using a different translation program to try to solve, among other things, the gender confusion that usually exists.

Leave me a comment at the end about whether you notice a difference from the previous one and how different it is, thank you.

Here's to a reading that doesn't make your eyes bleed! T_T

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I can't believe I overlooked something like this," lamented Soisen once he discovered how the Death Eaters managed to enter the castle.

Through the secret passage behind the Hunchbacked Witch statue leading to Honeydukes.

"Now I understand why I didn't sense anything strange; they didn't use force to enter. But how did they know about it if they don't have the Marauder's Map? I'm sure the only ones who knew about this passage were the Weasley twins, me, and... Potter," he cursed uncontrollably, as it seemed that Malfoy or someone associated with the Death Eaters must have observed in surprise how Potter sneaked to Hogsmeade without permission and discovered this breach in the security barriers.

It was clear that over time, he had let his guard down and didn't use his invisibility cloak as much, thinking no one would notice.

While Soisen had put some things under strict control when he connected to Hogwarts, the secret passageways and shortcuts of the castle had not been blocked because many students used them regularly to get to their lessons on time without getting lost.

Did Dumbledore know about this breach?

"Wait, why didn't I see Dumbledore defending the students?" He suddenly realized that no matter how he observed the castle through his connection, there were no traces of the headmaster or Potter.

He saw the few remaining Death Eaters, teachers collaborating with suits of armor to protect the common rooms...

"Did Malfoy or some Death Eater's child notice the headmaster's absence and decide it was the perfect time to... what?" he questioned, unable to fully grasp the purpose of Voldemort's followers. "Take over the castle? But they seemed to be searching for something or... someone."

Did they believe Dumbledore wasn't around, so Potter was defenseless?

Or was he their target? He still felt like Tom was targeting him.

Regardless, the priority was to close the breach and cut off the flow of invaders, which had actually slowed down considerably. It seemed they didn't have as many reinforcements planned as he had expected.

With a mental command, the Hunchbacked Witch statue began to close, despite the efforts of the Death Eaters to keep the path open when they realized the problem. But all they managed to do was slow down the closure.

Soisen looked around and frowned when he realized another detail that bothered him a lot and would have been of great help in the current situation.

Where was the damn Order of the Phoenix?

Why were they taking so long to arrive?

At this rate, they would show up at the last moment and act as if they were the heroes.

What Soisen didn't know was that his security measures had actually worked against him this time. The members of the Order of the Phoenix wanted to enter Hogwarts through the Floo Network and assist the students under attack, but the restrictions denied them entry because they didn't have permission from either him or the absent headmaster at this critical moment.

So they could only Apparate somewhere near the school and use broomsticks or run as fast as they could to get in. All of this would take some time, naturally.

"At least there are no casualties among the students, although several Slytherins are behaving strangely," he reflected. "PX5, eliminate the remaining threats near the statue."

"Roger, Roger."

While the Death Eaters screamed tragically as they were massacred by the golem, Soisen wondered why these hesitant students didn't dare to act.

What could be holding them back? Perhaps there was something persuading them that he didn't know about?

"Oh, mercy!"

"My leg! It's torn my leg off!"

"I don't want to die; it wasn't supposed to end like this!"

"Aren't Light wizards supposed to avoid killing?"

"In case you haven't noticed, that thing isn't a wizard! It's a monster!"

"For the sake of Morgana's tits! They just bisected Mike!"

"Save us, Dark Lord!"

"I knew I should have listened to Mom and become a baker. But no, I wanted to be a bad boy..."

Yes, Soisen couldn't think of a single reason why the "doubtful" students didn't decide to act this time. Looking at the Death Eater bodies, he realized that Filch would have a lot of work moving them and cleaning the blood from the hallways, walls, and even the ceiling in some places.

The students might be a little traumatized as well, but he couldn't take an easy way out by letting the castle absorb the blood, as it could taint the magic like a sacrificial ritual, so he called the house-elves of the castle and asked them to clean everything as quickly as possible.

The house-elves took the order and began to remove all traces of what had happened in the castle with fervor, whether it was bodies, limbs, blood, or organs.

"The kids will lose their appetite if they see this and won't be able to enjoy their meals!"

"What a tragedy!"

That was unacceptable to them, as they put so much effort into preparing the food.

While dealing with post-battle matters, he decided to permanently seal the passage to Hogsmeade. While it was true that it could be considered an escape route in case of emergency, it was nothing more than a security breach when the enemy knew both entrances.

And he was contemplating permanently closing other similar passages, such as the one corresponding to the Hog's Head. But given its potential role in the future, he needed to consult the plans to assess the risk.

"Hmm? It seems the Order of the Phoenix has finally arrived, late anyway," Soisen had no trouble identifying some familiar faces among the newcomers and knowing their origin. "I'll wait until everything is cleaned up before transmitting through the talking portraits that it's safe, and they can come out. I wonder how things have gone up there..."

It was interesting to observe that Snape didn't head to the dungeons to defend the common room, but he also didn't go up to the Astronomy Tower. It was at the end of the fight when he felt Dumbledore using his authority in the castle as the headmaster to enter with Potter before encountering Malfoy, who seemed to have been lucky to evade the golems.

Was Lucius willing to send his son a bottle of Felix Felicis after seeing his troubles in carrying out Voldemort's mission, or was it the power of the plot armor in action?

Either way, he couldn't know precisely what had happened in the Astronomy Tower because there were no talking portraits in the location that could serve as his eyes and ears, only the inanimate star maps.

"Everyone, don't worry; the Order of the Phoenix has come to the rescue!"
