Chapter 42: Do you still love the General?

  So much had happened at the ball and festival it felt like the events that occurred had spanned over multiple days and it wasn't just in two days. It felt strange especially since things had suddenly calmed down. 

It had been 3 days since the festival had passed. Once I was prepared for the day by my servants I left the house to take a walk around the estate. I still wasn't sure how to readjust my activities ever since I'd been moved back to Ayan's original home. I had been so used to spending time in my garden. 

It was on the second day of having returned to the estate that the news had been revealed to the public of Serena's actions. It was Serena's prejudice against Teon's commoner roots that was the motivator of her mistreatment of the Prince. She was sentenced to a minimum of 10 years to a maximum prison where the worst of the worst criminals in the empire were sent. Causing harm to a royal member was a serious crime after all.
