Chapter 3: The end and a new beginning.
I got up at 7:00 am. Today was an important day, I had to prepare quickly and go to the conference room where I'll find with my friends and then go quickly to the place where the event starts and make our speech. We need it going well, it is what marks the start of all and obviously it has to be done at 10 am without exception.
Why do we want it at that hour? Well that's an easy question, we want to make it at that hour because it is the time when we published our first game so what it is considered by the people the start of our company.
For me it would be the day before because it is when we all decided to make a step and start our own business, Gabriel it's the quality check manager, Laura would be the marketing manager, Mark the commercial administrative and me the CEO and the head of the programming team. We decided that all on 10 November 2018 and published our first video-game on 11 November 2018 at 10 am, so for us four the beginning would be on 10 November while for the others would be 11 November.
And today 11 November 2019 we prepared an event to celebrate that same beginning and to wish for a year as good as the one we just had.
So I prepared as fast as I could and ate breakfast as always, contacted my bodyguard and went to the car.
And here I am now, face to face with my friends and preparing for the speech revising it all and making a quick revision of all the equipment.
We can't let all the effort go to waste just because we forgot the content of the speech or a technical difficulty during the same can we?
Laura, Gabriel, Mark and me finished our little meeting and final revision of last hour and went straight to the meeting point in the open air stadium where the speech will take place in an hour.
But what we didn't expect was to find the police there, so we go to meet them and see what is happening.
We go and start talking to two police officers, one women and one male. The women has smooth long black hair, brown eyes and a little nose. We can't see the rest of her face because she wears a mask, the same could be said from the man, just that in his case he has short curly brown hair and black eyes.
Well their appearances are not that important but what is really important is to be aware of the reason why they are here.
"Hello, Mr policeman and Mrs policewomen, may I know why are you here? Can I ask if there is a problem with something?" I asked politely
"No, you don't need to worry Mr Matheus Berlins, the reason we are here is because of the call we received from you yesterday" answered the policewomen.
The call of yesterday? what does she mean... Oh. True, I forgot that I called the police for the strange occurrences with the trucks. "Ah... so... you are here because of the truck incident? Did the police find something that they need to come here?"
"Well yes but we would like to talk in another place, here there is a lot of people and there is even more every minute" answered the policemen
"Oh, ok there is not any problem with that, if you may follow me we can go to the back of the stadium where we can find a little office that can accommodate a group of 6 or 7 people, if you don't mind I would like my friends to follow up because they are the ones who made me call and I don't want to make them more worried than they already are."
"There's no problem with that" said the policewomen
"Yes, they can follow up, but let's go and make it quick, we don't want to make our boss wait a lot, he wants us to finish that fast so we can go to the security team to assure that no problems surface during the event" The policeman seemed to have a lot of haste.
It seems strange and I like to follow my gut feelings so I need to be wary of him, I can't let him know that I suspect something is wrong with him but I should maintain an eye over him.
The problem is that I have the hunch that the policewomen is as dangerous as the policeman, I don't know what it is but something is wrong with the two of them.
We entered the office followed by the two policemen and took a seat, my three friends and I went behind the table and added three chairs so we could sit together and our guests took seat in two chair in front of us, meanwhile my bodyguard stayed in front of the door to make sure nobody meddle with us.
"Ok, so lets start. First of all I am Oliver and she is Susan. We came here to inform you about our findings in your case." Said the policeman now known as Oliver
"Yes, as you may have thought, normally we wouldn't look in a case like that one, we would leave it as a joke or something because it's practically impossible to happen something like what you described, but because of who you are we thought that it has a low probability of being a bad joke. So we decided to take a look and we find out not only that what you said is true." Said the policewomen, now known as Susan
"What we found out was that more than accidents what happened was an assassination attempt, all the trucks that nearly hit you had some similarities. In the recording of the security cameras we saw that all of them with one exception have something in common. All of them don't have number plate and there seems to be no driver. That makes us think that someone is trying to kill you and hide it as an unfortunate accident" Said Oliver
"The problem is that we can't find anything that can guide us to the perpetrator but we are doing our best. We have dispatched some police officers to look for anything suspicious during the event, maybe someone wants to ruin it and kill you in the confusion or something." Said Susan
"Wait! You are telling us that there is someone trying to kill Matheus? But why?" Said Gabriel in a worried tone
Umm… Gabriel, I know you are worried and all but you shouldn't just disrupt their speech and ask your questions… And you shouldn't trust them so easily…
I approached Gabriel and whispered. "Gabriel, you shouldn't interrupt them like that, we should first listen to what they have to say till the end… And you shouldn't trust them at all, I don't know why but I have a bad feeling about these two and I'm usually right when I have a gut feeling like that one so we should be a little bit vigilant with them."
"Sorry, continue please." I asked them to continue so we can finish that and start our speech in time. But that is not what is making me rush with this situation, what makes me rush is that I don't think those two are trustworthy and I would like to stay a little bit far from them.
"Ok, and don't interrupt it now please…" Said Oliver "And what was the last thing I said?"
"Something about the possibility of someone trying to ruin the event or provoke chaos so it can easily kill Matheus in the confusion of the moment." Said Mark
"Oh, true, well let's continue. So what I was going to say is that we have some teams of police officers that will be dressed in uniform and some of them without it to assure that nothing problematic shows up and if it does find the mastermind." Said Oliver
"We wanted to communicate that to you so you don't worry too much from the quantity of police officers in the zone and so you could be aware of the danger that might appear." Said Susan
"Ok, so you are saying that maybe someone will try to get a mole between the workers or hidden inside the crowd may try and kill Matheus? And that there are people trying to find something suspicious to try and avoid the danger preventing them from doing what they want to do." Asked Laura summing up all the information
"Yes, you got it right" Answered Susan
"Ok, I understand but can I ask why you said that there was an exception between the trucks that nearly hit Matheus?" Asked Mark
"Oh, there was one truck whose driver fell asleep while driving and the truck was slowly stopping it's movement." Said Oliver
"Oh, so actually one of the trucks was a true accident… It's not very assuring but more like something perturbing." Said Gabriel
"Well, we have already told you what we had so see you later and we hope nothing goes wrong." Said Oliver
"Bye" Said Susan
"See you later" We all four said at the same time.
We all waited till they left and stayed quite without any movement or noise during the following 5 minutes.
"So… someone is trying to kill you…" Said Gabriel
"It seems so" I answered
"I know that we can't stop you from doing your speech but you should leave immediately after that and stay at home." Said Mark
"But I would let you alone with all the work that may appe…" I was trying to say something when I got suddenly interrupted
"SHUT UP!!! You shouldn't make the speech but you are very stubborn so make it and leave. We don't want you to die because of your carelessness." Countered Laura
"Ok, I'll make the speech and leave to my house immediately after that." I said without any other option
"We thought so isn't it?" Said Laura
""Yes"" answered the other two.
We left the office and went to the scenario, my bodyguard followed behind me and stayed at the entrance of the scenery, The speech went smoothly and without any evident problem but I could see Oliver and Susan talking with some people hidden in a corner, that made me nervous, I knew something was wrong but I haven't got the necessary information to tell what it is that makes me feel so uneasy about them.
When I was leaving the scenery I suddenly got a very bad feeling and when I got out and was out of sight I immediately jumped and threw myself to the floor making my friends and bodyguard startled. But they then understood, just after I was completely stretched on the floor something hit what was in front of me, it was a bulled, someone shot me from outside but I didn't know from where so I quickly run to the car, my bodyguard following me. What I didn't expected was that when I entered the car something was telling me to get out immediately… It was too late.
Someone has planted a bomb under the car and made it explode when I was inside killing me instantly.

In a dark cave in an unknown place can be seen two foxes, one is big and a female, the other was a little baby fox, it seems that the female fox has just given birth to it's baby. In the surroundings of the two foxes there are various people, female and male, all of them are dressed in kimonos and with what seems to be fox ears and tails?
They are surrounding the female and taking care of it's necessities, you may not be able to see it at first glance but the female fox has three tails and the people surrounding her all have two or three tails, suddenly, one person enters the cave and it has fox ears too, but what is different of this one is that it is the only one that has more than three tails, it has four tails.
It approaches the mother and daughter pair of fox and all of a sudden it's form changes, it transforms into a four-tailed fox. It was the father of the little fox and it had a smile on it's face.
He was happy because of his newborn daughter, but when he approached… something was wrong.
He stopped smiling and focused on the little baby, he had a worried look as if he was seeing the worst thing that could have happened, was his daughter dead? Why can't he sense the spiritual connection?
Those questions were invading his mind, the little baby wasn't moving as if it was sleeping, but what made the father fox these worried was that he couldn't sense the spiritual connection that binds all foxes, if you can't sense the spiritual connection in a fox, it can only mean two things, one, the fox is dead, two and the less probable one which had only had one case in the 6500 years since the foxes started to exist in the world; the true nature of the fox is sealed or blocked by something.
If the true nature of a fox is sealed or blocked it can give the individual a lot of problems, it can make the life of the fox be in danger or very difficult, but what the only case said about this was that the worst was being the only fox that couldn't access the spiritual connection.
The truth is that there has been more than one case of foxes with sealed true nature, but only one survived, all the others died in less than 5 days. The only survivor lived 100 years and it had achieved something unexpected, it unsealed it's true nature and connected to the spiritual connection.
It is said that this is extremely difficult to do and in the only known case, the individual needed 80 years to do it. That's why the father fox is so worried about it's daughter, he doesn't know if it would be better option two or one, in option one she will be dead and that's all, it will be sad but in option two she may live or not and even if she survives she may suffer of a horrible life till she unseals her true nature or dies.
Suddenly, the little fox opened it's eyes…
'Hmm…? Something feels different? Why do I feel like something is wrong... Or right?' thought Matheus
I opened my eyes only to see a fox with three tails in front of me, I don't understand anything, since when do the foxes have so many tails? And why it is looking at me with that worried face? Wait! Why do this fox is so big! And why can I understand that he is worried about me?!?!?! since when I learned fox expressions?
Something was different but I don't know what. There are a lot of people surrounding me and talking in a language that I don't understand. Are they some type of cult? They are dressed in Japanese kimonos and have fox ears and tails attached to them? Wait a moment…? Those tails are not fixed to the kimono and those ears don't have anything that supports them from falling, they are real?!?!?! Those ears and tails seem to be their natural traits…
WAIT!!!! When have we got out of that dark place? They were moving me… I was so stunned that I haven't seen when they caught me and they are bringing me to somewhere… I don't feel any danger or bad intentions but these is so…
Didn't I die? How am I alive? Didn't I had a very bad premonition entering the car and then sensed a lot of pain? I remember seeing those two police officers looking at me like they've accomplished what they wanted to do? I died didn't I?
I suppose I made my friends cry… I would prefer not to die… I was having fun with them and we had a good relationship. Well at least they will receive my inheritance. I gave all my inheritance to them, I had no family, they all died when I was 18 in a car accident, I had my differences with my parents but I never wanted them death, I'm still suffering from their death, I always try to forget those thoughts working but I can only relax when I'm with those three…
Wait. I got distracted another time… But my brain is overloaded with all that is happening…
What is that spherical thing that seems made from crystal but it's material is clearly not crystal? And why are they making me touch it… it's cold.
WHAT HAPPENED TO MY HAND??? I don't have a hand? It's more like an animal paw? More concretely a fox leg? And what is that text that appeared over that non-crystal sphere…
