Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Teaching More Techniques
"Pay close attention to what I'm about to do."
As Godo said this to Shuya, he started to sit down, and touch the ground with his hand. As the place Godo was sitting on currently was shadowed by a tree, he could utilize this.
Then he suddenly started to become darker, then after a moment, he slipped into the shadow of the tree.
Shuya was again shook by this. When Godo was starting to turn darker, he was already putting on a surprised face. But then he suddenly moved downwards, and seemingly slipped into the shadow of the tree.
This was extremely surprising for him. Never in his life had he seen a living being slip into the shadow of anything. It was akin to saying a man ran around the border of the human kingdom in 10 seconds. It was impossible.
But he was witnessing the impossible right now. After Godo slipped into the shadow of the tree, he suddenly came back out of the shadow and stood where he was sitting before. Then he started talking,
"This move is called 'Shadow Slip". Shadow slip is a movement type skill. It can be used wherever and whenever there is a shadow in the vicinity.
If a shadow is shadowed by another shadow, then it is possible to move to that shadow from the shadow you were in before."
As he said this, Shuya attentively listened to what he was saying. Just like the spirit who was watching them from the window. This female spirit was of course, Nene. She had been watching them from the window from the time Godo displayed the 'Divine Laceration'
She was also really surprised by what Godo did. The movement skill 'Shadow Slip', it was something only humans with the power of a 9th Grade Mage would be able to use. Although the 9th grade was only halfway towards the peak of magic. It was still an extremely treacherous and hard road to walk.
And only the ones who had learned Dark Type magic would be able to use it. So it was really surprising for Nene to see an old man, who she had thought was a sword spirit moments before - using this move.
So she started to wonder how Godo would teach this to Shuya. As previously mentioned, it was a 9th Grade magic.
"So, gramps. How are you going to teach me these moves. 'One Point Thrust' was a physical type move so it was easy to learn. But 'Shadow Slip' is clearly a Dark type magical move. And i don't even have Dark type magic."
"Shuya, you clearly don't understand the Magical Aptitude test. Do you know what it means to have an aptitude for a certain element?"
"I don't know gramps. I think it means i can use that type of magic?"
"Haha, your right but also wrong Shuya. The Magical Aptitude test. It means that you have a talent for learning that certain type of magic. For example, let's say i have an aptitude for fire."
As he said that, he summoned a fire from his left hand.
"And then i try to learn both fire and water."
Saying this he summoned a water blob from his right hand.
"This simply means that i will have an easier time learning fire magic than water magic."
Saying this he increased the intensity of the fire and reduced the amount of water in the blob.
"Of course i do not have an aptitude for water magic but, i can still learn it. The only downside is that it greatly slows down your progress."
Then he dispersed the fire and water into particles, magic particles to be exact.
"Woah. Wait so that means that, if i want to, i can learn light and dark type magic?"
Godo nodded.
Shuya was amazed by what Godo knew. At least it was only him. The information that Godo just gave to Shuya was common sense among mages. So either Shuya is really dumb or he didn't had any interactions with mages up until now.
But the spirit on the other hand, was surprised. Not because she was amazed by what Godo knew, but amazed by what Godoo did to the fire and water blob.
Turning back transformed magic back into particles was an incredible achievement. Even spirits could not easily do it. She was becoming more and more intrigued by who Godo was.
She wondered what a mage of this caliber was doing in these places adventuring with 3 newbie adventurers. But she was happy. Now she could rest assure, knowing that the person she was travelling with was this kind of person. A strong mage and a strong swordsman.
But she was still curious.
"So now we will talk about how to do it."
While explaining to Shuya how to do this move, Godo seemed to realise that this move, was still too hard for Shuya. So he kept on explaining then after he finished, he told him,
"Now always remember what i just told you. As i will not tell you again. You can not learn it yet, as you are still too weak. To learn this move, you need to be at least a 9th Grade mage."
Hearing this, Shuya was shocked.
"What! You mean i can only do this move when i am a 9th Grade mage? But it's so hard to reach even 2nd Grade."
As he said these words, he put his hands on his head and started frown, a few moments later, he stopped and said,
"Well, i guess i will just have to wait until i eventually reach it."
As he heard this, Godo said to Shuya,
"Then come, I'll tell you an easy way to strengthen your magical power."
"Really?"
"First, you will learn the three types you have aptitudes on. Then after reaching around 4th Grade, you will learn the other elements. Then you will continue to learn like this until you eventually become both a strong mage, and a strong swordsman."
"Oh wait, i still have one more technique to teach you. Maybe this will help you in strengthening you magical power."
