Chapter 2: The tale of Khasa: Generations of divine verdicts

📝

The ancient human civilization was dark and chaotic. In people's heart and mind only two things were of most importance. One was money and other was power.

Poor people fought for food, the slightly well-off people fought for riches while the nobles fought for power and authority.

What were relations?

What were emotions??

What was humanity???

Nothing at all. If there was really something then it had to be benefit. People were divided into two kinds; useful ones and useless ones.

Someone is useful, keep them and once there use come to an end then simply bury them ten feet below the ground.

{ THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH IS SLIGHTLY VIOLENT SO BE AWARE OF YOUR IMAGINATION}

Sons killed their fathers for power, mothers silenced their children for food, sisters chopped their brothers for seizing the hierarchy and husbands sold their wives for gold. Truly the living world was crueler than six hells and humans were more sinister than demons and ghosts.

Within such evil, like a Phoenix that rises from ashes, rose two figures. Although unrelated by blood both were close like brothers. From where they came, it was an unsolved mystery but these two brothers with no doubt were saviours of entire humanity.

Both of them held powers that was unrival. The younger one had inhumane wisdom and the older one was an almighty warrior with undefeatable weaponry skills. Together they conquered every small states and big countries and soon made one Kingdom, Kai.

The younger brother sat on the throne and seized the logistics. With his awe inspiring strategies and techniques he soon established a well-managed and harmonious kingdom. No more fights. No more wars. Everywhere was peace and satisfaction. Thus, he became their first emperor and royal leader.

On the other hand, the elder brother seized the military. With his refined fighting skills and war logics he protected the kingdom under his younger brother's regime and ensured peace in the country. He became the first assassin and leader of Khasa tribe.

After years of regime the two brothers faced a rather difficult situation. Everything will be fine when they were still alive but what about after their death. Will the country remain same forever? The probability was less than half. Then, will their children and grandchildren be competent enough as leaders to continue their wishes. What if the situation like before resurfaced again? Will new leaders be capable to cope with it and re-establish peace again.

What if and what if not circled their heads. After many careful thoughts the two brothers put forward a solution and two divine verdicts were passed down.

If the royal ruler/ emperor was incompetent and neglected his responsibilities then the leader of Khasa tribe will have full authority to behead the royal leader and crown the next suitable candidate on his will.

It became the first divine verdict.

And if the leader of Khasa abuses the given verdict discarding his morals then the Royal leader will have the full authority to seal off the entire Khasa tribe.

Thus, it became the second divine verdict.

In Kai kingdom, the next leaders were crowed following the rule of first born and the verdicts will be passed to them on their own. After the death of the two brothers the second generation inherited the leader's position. Their regime went on with peace and there was no need to use the divine verdicts.

It was not until fifth generation. Since it had been calm and peace for too long the royal's side did not put in their mind the existing divine verdicts.

The fifth emperor followed the path of incompetence. He neglected his duties and his citizens instead engrossed himself in enjoyment and beauties. It was said that the fifth emperor built a harem of three thousand. Under his regime the roots of nation was somehow shaken and the people rebelled against the incompetent ruler.

Days after days, it became more and more difficult for fifth leader of Khasa to single handly restore the former peace of the Kingdom. He twice complained to emperor. The situation was slowly slipping out his hands, inner and outer conflicts pressured him alone and yet the emperor ignored everything. Like a bee flocking around beautiful flowers, the fifth emperor continued his life of leisure and enjoyment.

The fifth Khasa leader finally gave up.

For the first time in the history the fifth leader of Khasa tribe used the first divine verdict and publicly beheaded the incompetent emperor. Later he crowned the five years old first prince and he himself ruled the country as a regent.

Henceafter, the royal palace became aware of this sleeping volcano that could erupt at any time the generations of royalties became fearful of Khasa people. Not only their leader carry with himself a hidden weapon called divine verdict but most of the Khasa people were powerful enough to wipe off the royal palace overnight.

Fear along with a sense of inferiority slowly corroded the brotherly relation between Khasa and royals. Their treatment of each other became hot and cold like that of fire and water. Royals had to live their life in fear well aware about the dagger hanging to their throat. A slight slip and their head will be separated from their torso.

Unacceptable. Not acceptable at all.

Thus started the schemes against Khasa and internal struggle for authority. For omnipotent power.

Up until tenth generation the divine verdict was used by Khasa lader for two times. One was during the fifth regime and other was during the eighth regime. Such balant use of divine verdict put pressure on next royal leaders and other royalties along with nobles who honey talked royals to live off their life.

But their hands were tied. Every schemes they played against Khasa was fruitless and traps they placed failed every times. For the Khasa warriors what come first was Kingdom and its people. They live to protect the country and will never misuse their powers. Though they were capable the Khasa people never intent to rebel and seize the throne. It would be discarding their morals that had been strictly taught to them by their superiors and elders.

But not everyone could be count as saints. The tenth leader of Khasa happened to be so ;; greedy and materialistic nature. And the third prince who was eyeing the throne used this to his own benefit.

The tenth emperor was of course competent enough. His wisdom and knowledge was unparalleled. Along with literature and politics the tenth emperor was knowledgeable about war and military too. Never in the previous nine generations such royal leader with upright character and powerful leadership and insight was seated on the throne. Because of this reason it was difficult for third prince to snatch the throne as the emperor was a figure that could only be found in fairytales.

The third prince who was inferior to tenth emperor in every aspect envied and hated his emperor brother. The third prince bought the Khasa leader promising him various talks and treasures and colluded with him to pull down the current emperor.

To briefly explain, the first divine verdict was rather tricky. After killing the incompetent ruler the Khasa leader can crown the next emperor at his will but beheading the competent ruler was not the same.

If such event were to occur then the divine verdict will choose the next royal leader on its own thus activating the second divine verdict. But because third prince promised not to seal the tribe afterwards the Khasa leader agreed to join hands with him.

On a certain night during the regime of tenth royal leader the entire palace was blood bathed. The rusty aroma of warm red liquid overflowed. Those having a drop of royal blood were killed without any mercy leaving only third prince alive. The tenth emperor was killed and overnight the third prince succeeded the throne becoming the next emperor.

After the succession what waited for Khasa tribe was not the promised treasure but what came was betrayal. The third prince backed from his words and decided to seal off the one third of Khasa tribe.

Here ,, why was it one third????

Of course the new emperor was not biased but before the seal the Khasa tribe broke into three groups.

One of the splitted group gave up the Khasa blood and flew away promising to get revenge , the other group also gave up the Khasa blood but decided to live in Kingdom like a commoner and remaining people remained loyal to their blood and followed their leader to a cave far away from Kai where they were sealed off from the outside world
