Chapter 3: Meeting Hazel (Winters perspective)
I arrived at the top of the hill and noticed a nearby bench with a girl sitting on it. She was reading a book called Autumn leaves by Maple Brown. That's when I knew! I silently walked towards her and tapped her on the shoulder. She jumped and turned around.
She had dark ginger hair, deep amber eyes, maroon coloured glasses and a dress covered with golden-brown leaves. "Emm...hi, sorry I'm late," I said. She smiled at me and stood up abruptly.
She seemed nice and everything but I feel like we just don't match: I don't feel that spark with her. Am I going to be able to marry someone I don't love?
