Chapter 2: Entrance Exam and The Path

Looking at UA in front of me, I was surprised how big it was for a school.

'With their fake cities as battlegrounds, what the hell is their budge?'

Walking inside, I thought about the last nine months. All Might had me do the same training Izuku did, but I improved a lot faster so he had to improvise. He had a fully functioning gym in his house, so I made use of that when I had time to work on my stats.

Other than training I had to get caught up on some school subjects. I picked everything up quickly, so it wasn't a problem, but All Might had to hire some tutors to teach me the content if I wanted to be ready for the written test.

All Might gave me One For All the day before the entrance exam, although I wasn't sure why he waited since my body was ready much earlier than Izuku's was. It was when I first tested out One For All that I realized how good Gamers Body was in conjunction with it.

Instead of breaking my arm I just lost a chunk of my health. It was a lot, 50 HP, but it meant I could use One For All at full power and not be completely out of a fight.

Summoning my stat page to look over it one more time, I had to appreciate the improvements I had gotten.

My strength was the stat that improved the most, since I had been working out mainly with weights, while my agility increased when I did cardio. I had done as much as possible, speed was required for my Assassination abilities to be effective, so I needed it as high as possible. As a consequence of working out, my vitality improved as I worked myself until I couldn't continue anymore. My intellect increased during my tutoring sessions.

I was still level 1, nothing I did increased the percentage so I assumed I had to clear the Path to get levels.

Other than working on my stats I had been improving the skills I could.

[Skills:

Armament Haki: A form of Haki that allows the user to use their own spiritual energy to create, in essence, an invisible armor around themselves, providing incredible offensive and defensive capabilities. Lvl 3/10

One For All: Allows the user to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, allowing them to significantly enhance all of their physical abilities to a superhuman level. Lvl 1/10 Max Output without Damage: 5%]

I had spent my time when All Might wasn't around to work on my Armament Haki. I didn't get a lot of opportunities by myself since All Might didn't spend as much time being a hero due to his time limit, but when I did I managed to get my Haki to the point that it was visible and hardened my body, strengthening it.

My other skills weren't ones that I could really practice on my own. I had noticed that because of the Assassination techniques being embedded into me, I didn't make any noise when I walked now.

I might have progressed more if I had entered the Path, but I didn't want to do it until I had One For All. I had no idea what would happen if I died in the Path, but I wanted One For All to be my back up plan if I couldn't win.

Continuing my walk into school, I took note of a few people who could potentially end up in my class. I didn't know what my actions could've changed, so didn't assume anyone I saw would end up the same as they were in canon.

The written portion of the entrance exam went decently. I had learned a lot over the last nine months, but there was still information I didn't manage to learn. I guessed I got around a B on the written test with what I knew.

After the written test was done, Present Mic explained how the practical exam would go. I zoned out since I knew it already and it was pretty simple, which led to me being called out by Iida.

"And you with the red hair. It's disrespectful to not pay attention."

"Yeah yeah, whatever you say." I replied and Present Mic finished his explanation.

Walking to my designated zone, I was surprised to find that it wasn't the same one as Iida and Uraraka.

'So me replacing Izuku did change stuff. I wonder who will end up in which class then?'

Standing ready, I glanced around at my competition again. I didn't recognize anyone in my group, which wasn't surprising since there were so many applicants.

"Go" Present Mic yelled and I pushed off the ground, running into the zone ahead of everyone else.

I had only gotten One For All yesterday, but I had managed to figure out how to channel it at 5% power, but that was enough.

'How Izuku didn't think to channel it through his whole body instead of just one point sooner is beyond me.'

With my speed increased I tore my way through the bots I came across. One punch at 5% was enough to destroy the small bots, so I continued to move through the city, destroying them and racking up points.

The exam felt really easy, none of the bots could hold up to much damage and I wasn't using any techniques just pure force.

When the 0 pointer appeared towards the end of the exam, I looked around to see if anyone was in danger from it for some easy points, but everyone got away, so I went back to dealing with the smaller bots until time ran out.

Walking out of UA after I was done with the test, I walked back to All Might's house. Walking inside, I put my stuff down and called out.

"Toshinori you here?"

"Yeah, in here, how'd it go." He called out from a room over. Walking in the room, I saw him sitting watching tv.

"It went fine, I managed to beat a lot of the bots. I should get into the hero course."

"That's good, I'm glad you figured out to use One For All throughout your whole body right away." he said.

"So you were watching then? How else would you know I did that." I said. I already knew he was watching, but I was surprised how easily he let that slip.

"Ah, yeah I was. You did well, I'm sure you placed into the hero course." All Might said.

"Thanks. I'm gonna head to my room and chill for the rest of the day." I said.

"Alright, I'll see you for dinner."

Walking into my room, I thought about my relationship with All Might. I didn't need a father figure and he didn't try to be one. He treated me somewhat like an uncle. I didn't really mind, I didn't want someone trying to helicopter my life, but he had helped me a lot with training.

Laying down in my bed I pulled up the Game interface.

[Would you like to enter your Path world? Yes/No]

Thinking Yes, my vision faded to black and when I woke up I was standing in a void. It was strange, it reminded me of what Obito's Kamui dimension looked like, without stuff floating all around but without stuff floating around.

[World: One Piece. You will be healed after each battle. Kill the opponent to win. If you die, you will be ejected from the Path and unable to challenge again for three days. You may choose to stop after each fight. Begin? Yes/No]

'So I didn't need to wait. I could've just went in right away since I won't die anyway. It's fine, I'm glad I played it safe.'

Selecting Yes, the screen faded away and a person appeared in front of me. It was a large woman wearing a white cowgirl hat. She had freckles on her face and long black hair.

'So Alvida is first. Does that mean this is going in order of who Luffy faced? Will the rest of the worlds go in that order?'

Alvida ran towards me, but she was running slowly due to her large frame. Not wasting time, I dashed forward and pulled her heart out, causing her to collapse to the ground and disappear into motes of light.

[First stage clear. Continue? Yes/No]

Selecting yes, I watched as the next opponent was Axe Hand Morgan.

'There should be a few mook fighters I need to deal with. I'll clear these as fast as possible.'

The next fight was done just as quickly. After Morgan disappeared, Buggy was the next opponent.

'I can't remember if he can survive without his heart, but it doesn't matter. I'll just test my Haki out.'

Doing the same as before, I coated my hand in Haki and removed Buggy's heart.

'These early One Piece villains are easy.' I thought and continued on through Kuro and Krieg. I was faster than Kuro, so it wasn't hard to beat him, and Krieg was a mook fight as well.

Arlong was a fight that required met to put more effort in. His skin was denser than a humans, so my base strength wasn't enough to pierce his chest. Right when he spawned in he pushed off the ground and launched himself at me like a torpedo.

Jumping over him I punched down to try to catch him off guard, but he reacted, flipping up and biting my arm.

[HP: 130/150]

Moving away from him, his teeth were still lodged in my arm. I was losing HP every second they were in there, so I quickly pulled them out.

[HP127/150]

Arlong had already regrown his teeth and pulled out two more pairs, holding them with his hands. He then pounced at me again, spinning. Instead of jumping over his attack, this time I ducked and sent a punch coated in Haki to his chest, piercing all the way through it.

After Arlong was Smoker, who would be my first Logia user.

When he appeared he sent a punch at me, extending his fist by turning his arm into smoke. Dodging the fist, I ran towards him but he pulled out a jitte and swung at me. I continued to dodge his attacks, looking for an opening to attack him.

Moving around his jitte, I punched him with a Haki enhanced punch, sending him flying back, but not killing him. He recovered and dissolved into a giant cloud of smoke, moving towards me. The smoke surrounded me and his fist would appear randomly and punch me.

With Haki, I reached out and grabbed any part of the smoke, with it reforming into his leg. Digging my hand into his leg, he cried out and reformed. Moving in while he was disoriented, I pulled his heart out.

Following Smoker, the next two fights were easy with Mr. 9 and Vivi going down quickly. Mr.5 and Miss Valentine were also easy to blitz, even if there devil fruits could've been a problem. Mr. 3 was slightly harder, he started the fight by trying to flood the area with candle wax, but I finally activated One For All and used to it punch through the wax and continue on to kill him.

I thought Wapol would be another mook, but it turned out he was spawned having already eaten his canon. He fired it at me, but I used One For All and dodged out of the way, running towards him. I had to dodge several more canon blasts before I got close enough to kill him.

The next opponent was one that would be a real challenge. Crocodile was the next person who spawned in. With One For All ready, I watched as he swung his arm and summoned a sandstorm all around us. He then disappeared into it.

I tried to keep and eye out and watch for an attack, but I couldn't react fast enough when his hook suddenly formed behind me and slashed me. I swung my fist to attack him, but he had already disappeared into the sandstorm again.

[HP: 120/150. Status: Poisoned, -1 HP ever 2 seconds.]

'I'm on a time limit. I've got 4 minutes before I'm out of HP if he doesn't hit me again.'

I pushed off the ground and jumped into the air as high as I could before charging One For All to 100% in my arm, along with adding Haki to it, and throwing the punch down. The force of the punch created wind pressure that completely cleared the sandstorm and sent Crocodile crashing to the ground.

[HP: 65/150]

Falling to the ground gave Crocodile time to recover and get up. I didn't want him to be able to make more sand so I blitzed him as soon as I hit the ground. He dodged and sent a claw attack at my side that I jumped over.

Gaining a little distance, I slowly walked around Crocodile, using Rhythm Echo to make copies of myself. Crocodile remade his sandstorm, but when he went to attack he attacked the wrong one and I took advantage of it to grab his claw before it could disappear with Haki, reforming his body and piercing his chest, killing him.

[HP: 46/150]

[Skill Gained: Poison Resistance: The ability to resist the effects of poison. Slightly resists poison. Lvl 1/10]

[Skill Leveled: One For All: Allows the user to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, allowing them to significantly enhance all of their physical abilities to a superhuman level. Lvl 2/10 Max Output without damage: 10%]

'I got a good skill out of it at least. Don't know how I'm going to train that though.'

[Boss Stage Cleared: Rewards: 81000000 Yen]

'Damn that's a lot of money. If I remember right that's what Crocodile's bounty was before it was frozen. So if I clear more bosses I should have a lot of money when I go to different worlds.'

[After clearing a Boss stage the Path is inaccessible for the rest of the day. Totaling Progress, please check stats page.]

Opening my stats page, I looked at what had changed.

'So I leveled 6 times from that. I guess most of that was Crocodile, Smoker, and Arlong, since the rest of the opponents were barely worth the effort. I'll save my stat points for now, I'll eventually hit a roadblock where I can't progress any further by working out and I'll use them then.'

My vision faded to black and when I opened my eyes I was back on my bed. Looking at the clock, I could see that no time had passed since I entered the Path.

Pulling up my stats page, there was now an option for inventory. Selecting it, I got a mental catalog of what I had in it, which was only my money for the moment. Thinking about 5000 Yen, in my hand appeared 5000 Yen. With a thought I put it back in the inventory.

'This is really convenient. If I get anything I don't want people to know about I can just store it in there.'

Walking out of my room, I walked over to All Might sitting on the couch.

"I changed my mind, can we work on One For All?" I asked.

"Sure, it's good to see you want to improve, but make sure you don't push yourself too hard. Let's go to the training room." All Might said and got up, coughing some blood. I was used to it and he didn't like for me to worry about it, so didn't comment on it.

When we got into the room, All Might said "Channel One For All like you did in the entrance exam."

I nodded and channeled the 10% I could now.

"You've already improved how much power you're channeling. That's faster than I did, although I started at a higher percentage than you. Okay, I want you to attack me and try to concentrate on maintain One For All throughout your whole body, while increasing it at just one point when you attack." He said and changed into his muscular form.

I immediately attacked him, throwing a punch, but when I tried to increase the power in my fist the rest of my body lost it.

"It will be hard at first to maintain the concentration it takes. Try again." All Might said.

Nodding I channeled One For All through my whole body again and attacked All Might. This time, when I tried to increase just my fist I managed to keep the rest of my body enhanced up until I actually delivered the punch. Then I lost the enhancement completely. The punch didn't actually manage to move All Might at all.

"Good, you managed to keep it up when you attacked, but you lost it after. We can keep working on this, you'll get it soon." He said and we spent the next few hours practicing my ability to channel One For All to different parts of my body while maintaining it. It was a good practice and helped me get a better feel for One For All as a whole. I wasn't increasing the power to 100%, just 15% instead of 10 so the damage I was taking was miniscule.

Eventually we called it a day and sat down for dinner.

"So, it'll take a couple days for your acceptance letter to come. Are you excited to get started with classes?"

"I don't know. I'm excited about the hero classes, but more regular work sounds boring." I answered.

"Yeah, I would imagine, with all the cramming you had to do. I'm not to good at that stuff my self, but UA has to offer regular classes to its students to maintain the standards for education."

"I'll manage. I'm curious to see who my class mates will be." I said.

"They'll be the people who you are most likely to team up with in the future, so it will be important what kind of people they'll be." All Might said.

"I'll just have to see then."

From there we ate in companionable silence before saying good night and heading to our rooms to go to sleep.

'I cleared up to Crocodile, but I should have Enel soon. I don't have Luffy's rubber properties, so I'm not sure how I'll manage with him. He could be a road block until I get better with One For All, depending on if I can handle his electric attacks.'

I'm new to doing a stat based Gamer story, so I'm still working out the kinks for how much progress should be made.
