Chapter 20: Graduation day part 2( 3rd person pov)
After taking a break for lunch Iruka sensei declared the results with Naruto as the rookie of the year and Ino and Hinata tied for position of kunoichi of the year. Sasuke was in fourth place resulting in a thunderous scowl on his face at being beaten by three people. There was booing by Sasuke fangirls
who disputed the results but Iruka shut them up and told the students to report to the academy in a week for team placements. As the room cleared Sasuke challenged Naruto to a fight but Naruto who was reading a book on Fuinjutsu just looked up and asked Sasuke 'if he had said something' and returned to his reading as he along with hinata and Ino went to Ichiraku ramen to celebrate. The jounin on seeing Naruto's reaction to the challenge just burst out laughing while Kakashi looked like he was watching a mini version of himself with the same face mask, book in hand and mannerisms while Gai was ranting about youth.
After the exam Naruto was approached by Mizuki about a special test for the person who got rookie of the year to make him an apprentice to a jounin instead of being on a regular genin team if he succeeded. The test was to steal the scroll of secrets frm the hokage tower. Naruto agreed and immediately went and informed the hokage about Mizuki treason and asked his permission to deal with Mizuki and the Hokage agreed as he knew that Naruto could easily handle Mizuki. Naruto pretended to wait for Mizuki near the forest of death and when turned up gave him the forbidden scroll of seals. Mizuki started laughing maniacally and started spouting about how he would be rewarded by Orochimaru and then Iruka arrived and on seeing Mizuki laughing with the scroll of seals in his hand tried to attack Mizuki but was rewarded with a fuma shuriken to his back. Mizuki then told Naruto about how he was the Kyuubi despite protests from Iruka and moved to kill Naruto who appeared to be shocked and as soon as he pierced Naruto with a kunai it resulted in an explosin and Mizuki went flying into the air and the original Naruto appeared above Mizuki and dropkicked him into unconsciousness. Naruto created a clone to carry Iruka to the hospital and he himself went to meet the hokage who congratulated him on successful completion of a A rank mission and told him to collect his pay from the mission payment office.
Hiruzen seeing how calm Naruto was after finding out that he was the Jinchuriki of the Kyuubi asked him how long he had known and Naruto replied by saying that he knew since he was 8 years old and also that he was a level 9 seal master and it was natural to find out about a seal placed on his stomach. Hiruzen promises to tell Naruto about his parents after he achieved chunin rank as his parents had many enemies and he wanted Naruto to have the strength to defend himself from those enemies
