Chapter 1: The Great Gods
----------year 2079--------
Inside a Secret Laboratory
"it's ready professor" a man in white lab coat said...
"With this the human race will break past it's limit" an older looking man whose name is professor Lionel said.
For the past twenty years professor Lionel has been doing countless research and experiments just to find a way to break past human limitations .
He believes that if his research achieves a breakthrough, humans will evolve.
Meaning, no more hunger, deaths or even sicknesses. Humans will basically become immortals.
But all his past experiments led to failure, until today. Today he finally achieved a breakthrough..
"Cain, bring me the test subject" Professor Lionel said to his assistant.
"Here you go sir" Cain handed a cute little rat to the Professor.
After the rat has been handed to him, he used a syringe and loaded it with a purple looking liquid.
"Let's keep our fingers crossed my dear assistant" Professor Lionel said and then injected the rat with the liquid.
After Waiting for several minutes, a robot like voice sounded in the lab.
" Damaged cells healing, Vitality and stamina increasing, Heart rate stable, evolving evolving".
Hearing this Professor Lionel couldn't help hugging his assistant.
"hahaha..we did it Cain, we finally made a breakthrough, now let's hear how those old fools will keep saying I'm insane".
Through all the celebration, the robotic voice was heard again..
"Error, Error evolution failed, Mutation occuring".
The rat was changing sized and it kept on growing..
The professor was stunned and he panicked
"C-Cain call security" he ordered
*Roar*
The rat had completely mutated and had become a terrifying monster.
Before Cain could react the rat had torn him to shreds. Professor Lionel became terrified and his legs gave out before the rat jumped his way.
The next day it was reported on the news that a laboratory explosion occured which released a strange gas in the atmosphere and started causing animals to mutate and attack humans..
-------5 years later------
The lab incident caused chaos in the entire planet, animal mutations happened like spreading zombies and human population thinned and thinned until no more than 10 million people existed in a confined US, protected by an electric dome..
High in the unseeable skies stood the glorious city of Olympus, normally the city look lively with all kinds of sacrifices made by humans, but for the past five years the environment has always been gloomy. Yes, this is the well known city of Olympus where the gods of mythology reside but today it looked no different from a normal human city.
"This cannot go on for long, if not we will be forgotten by humans and will perish" A man donned in a helmet and sandals with wings said. This man is the well known messenger god Hermes, he talked looking at the faces of all the other gods sitting on their thrones helplessly..
"Hermes, we know that what you're saying is correct but we have been forbidden by 'them' to never directly interfere in the matters of humans, so my hands are tied here" Zeus the king of all gods said..
"we'll not be directly interfering if you guys just listen to what me and Athena are trying to say"
"Okay then, speak" Zeus spoke again
"Why not give them a way to defend themselves, like a portion of our powers" Hermes said...
"Sigh!..You know that's not possible, even if it's a fraction of our powers the human body cannot handle it" Spoke Zeus.
"Not if we create a way to regulate it and prepare their bodies for it" a beautiful lady suddenly stood by Hermes and spoke.
"What are you trying to imply Athena?" Zeus asked the Lady..
"Why not give them through something called a 'system', I believe the humans can quickly adjust if we use something of resemblance to one of their creations called 'games' " Athena answered.
*murmur**murmur*
series of murmurs started resounding among the gods.
"Silence!" Zeus suddenly spoke and the gods quieted down.
"This might work, I'll report it to the great gods and see if they'll allow but before that, does anyone have any objections?" He continued.
"As much as I love the massacre, it'll be no fun if the other side cannot fight back and is wiped out entirely" a man spoke in a voice which made most of the gods shiver, he is the god of war Ares.
"well then, this meeting is dismissed, I'll talk to the great gods first and then report back to you guys" Zeus said..
After the meeting, Zeus took out a phone like object a started calling someone..
"I'm in the middle of a game with these old fools, so this better be good" a loud voice came from the object in Zeus's hand.
"Sorry for disturbing your game but I believe this is much more important" Zeus said.
"Speak" the voice resounded again
"we might have found a way t-" Zeus was suddenly interrupted while he spoke.
"we know, you have our permission" the voice suddenly said.
"Than-" Zeus wanted to say but he noticed the call was dropped so he just sighed and later informed all the other gods.
In a place just out of the milky way, four old men were playing chess...
"Chaos, why are you talking to your son like that when we all know you have the you have a soft spot for him, could it be? Are you a Tsundere?" an old man with sun like clothes spoke with an exaggerated facial expression
Chaos' lips twitched he looked at the old man and said " Ra is Apophis not enough for you, maybe I should consider joining as well"
Hearing Chaos say this Ra hurriedly closed his mouth..
" On a serious note, what do you guys think about their idea?" Ra changed the topic quickly.
" well although it risky, giving humans divine powers, we can't ignore the fact that we've seriously relied on their worship to increase our powers so I guess I'm okay with it" a man with an eye patch said, his name's Odin.
"yeah me too" Buddah said. After hearing the other two saying their piece, chaos and Ra naturally agreed. After a long silence
"What if we combine our powers into a single system and give it to a human" Ra suddenly said
"Are you crazy!, giving the power of a single god to a human is insane but the four of us giving our powers to a single human is straight out crazy" chaos shouted.
"Come on, you guys owe me for the games I won so just fulfill this and I'll write off all your debts" Ra said " Infact it'll just be 10% of our powers".
After much hesitation and convincing from Ra, the other gods agreed...
