Chapter 2: Being a Baby
In the darkness, where you can't feel, move, hear, or speak, is a nightmare. I have never once liked the darkness in my entire life, but here I am, stuck in the darkness unable to escape.
What I know is that I'm dead.
I died sacrificing myself for the greater good. To end the war, I took the greatest risk that many wouldn't choose. Am I selfish? Yes, I don't like war. I despise war. No matter the size, blood will be spilled in war.
I see a tunnel of light... I felt the light getting nearer, but it was very slow, which bored me.
I thought I would be in heaven, but who am I kidding? I have many sins and will probably be tortured in hell.
Instead, I found myself in a strange place. My vision is bright red and loud sounds are almost killing my ears.
The muffled voices become clearer as my ears adapt.
"Congratulations, Sir and Madam, the second boy is healthy!"
...Hey, wait a minute. Was I just born?
My blurry vision slowly becomes clear, I can see a man and a woman. I tried to observe the situation I'm in.
They looked familiar, I even think I know them! But I can't remember.
Work brain! I know who they are, but I don't remember their names!
They are Arthur Leywin's parents! Wait... That means...
Looking beside me, I found Arthur Leywin as a baby. Yep, that confirms my thought. I was born in the fictional world, The Beginning After The End.
The problem is, I only read the manhwa one because I never read the novel, which means I never got past the Xyrus Academy arc... Bah, I don't even know anymore. Let's just hope there is no war in this magic and sword world.
I feel someone holding me. I guess his name is Ro-Reynolds! Arthur Leywin's father was my father, and now he's my father alongside Arthur. "He has my hair!"
Well, ashy brown is not that bad for my hair color. Maybe I'll get blue eyes like Arthur?
"He has green eyes?"
Oh, I guess not. Green is not that bad though, but why do they sound confused? I looked at both of them and noticed they didn't have green eyes.
Oh, that's why.
Reincarnated in another world sounds impossible to me, but here I am, living a second life as the younger twin of Arther Leywin.
Maybe in this life, I will have a great life... Live a satisfying life, maybe have a wife in the future. No harem, of course, as I don't want the burden of loving many women equally.
Well, I just hope this world isn't very bloody.

Being a baby, time passes quickly.
Well, it's time for my awesome and boring monologue! Kuhum! My name is Alexander Leywin, and I'm the younger twin of Arther Leywin. Just like my twin brother I'm reincarnated, but the difference is, I know a bit of the future, but again, it'll become useless once the Xyrus Academy Arc starts.
I got my own nickname like Art, which is Alex. I did hope it was Al, but I guess they loved calling me Alex more. I don't hate the name though.
Life has been quiet and boring. There were times when dad would play with me and Art by making a goofy face, which Art would only cringe at, whereas I wanted to punch his face. Mom takes me and Art around outside so we don't get bored being at the house every day.
Art was a king, so he sometimes acted regal, but sometimes he acted like a normal child. It was weird. I keep to myself most of the time, and because I only have Art to play with, I tried my hardest to act like a normal child.
Being a normal kid is hard. My face is always stoic as I forget that I'm not in a dangerous place. Old habits die hard, I guess. In my previous life, the only place that was safe was the main base of Rebel Faction, which is why I was able to joke around, but being in an unfamiliar place, I always forget to express my emotions, not that it matters anyway since I get used to being stoic.
Now you must be asking, what are we doing? Good question!
We are trying our best to crawl, as I don't like sleeping all day. Art and I are competing to see who will first crawl. I may be an elite soldier who trained to be patient, but not on this one. I've been waiting for this day to beat Art.
"Go Art!" Dad cheers for Art.
"Go Alex!"Mom cheers for me.
Reynolds and Alice, or dad and mom, are cheering us on. I don't mind at all, as it was rare to be cheered on, as the only cheering I got was during a friendly duel.
But before I could crawl, Art was already crawling forward. He turns his head to me and smirks. I'm irritated by my asshole of a brother. I WILL DESTROY THAT SMIRK!
I flipped my tiny body over and, with my burning willpower, I tried my hardest to crawl with my tiny hand. I feel my body quickly tiring, but I don't care. I won't lose against that smirk!
Finally, I move my tiny hand and quickly crawl to chase Art.
Reynolds: "WOOOAAAHHH! That's my boys!"
Art was surprised to see me chasing him, but soon his surprised face changed to a genuine smile. I smiled too, as this is the first time I have had fun like this, wasting all my energy only to beat someone.
Mom and Dad laugh at seeing us. I feel warmth in my heart. So this is what they call "family warmth." I thought it was just a lie, but seeing myself happy with my new family, I guess this life isn't truly bad after all.
Alice Leywin's POV:
Alexander and Arthur were weird when they were born because of how silent they are, but I love them. They are my adorable little babies.
Arthur, who is the older twin, sometimes acted like a dignified person and other times acted like a normal baby.
On the other hand, Alexander, who is the younger twin, sometimes acted stoic when he found something boring, but he acted like a normal baby when something entertained him.
But even if they are a little bit unusual compared to normal babies, I will still love my adorable boys. I'm not going to be a doting mother. I plan to be a strict and just mother, but their actions are so cute that I want to dote on them every second.
Art manages to crawl forward, leaving his twin behind, but Alex doesn't accept it. He tried his best to crawl, and he succeeded in the end as he chased his brother.
I smiled while Rey was cheering for them. They are our cute little babies, after all.
Alexander Leywin's POV:
Art and I are sitting in front of the mirror staring at ourselves. We're adorable, which is a fact I can agree with. However, when I glance at Art, I can see him radiating narcissist energy, which is irritating. I bet he's thinking, "Watch out future ladies! Prepare to be heartbroken! "
If we were not a baby, I would have punched him for sure.
Looking at myself in the mirror, I do look cute, but what caught my attention is my green emerald eyes. They're pretty like a jemstone.
I'm thinking about the storyline. I don't know if I would screw it up, but I want to keep most of the storyline intact as I don't want the butterfly effect result. If I remember correctly, at the age of 3, Art will awaken as a mage. Which causes the family to move to the Xyrus city, but they are attacked by bandits.
I don't know if I should alter the storyline, but what I know for sure is that Art must meet Sylvia. This is conflicting, so I need to watch from the side as the story progresses. For the time being, I doubt I'll have much of an impact on the plot.
Art will meet Princess Elf... uhh, what was her name again? Yeah! Tess is the nickname of the elven princess.
I'll keep this short and simple.
Art guards Tess.
Art and Tess arrive at the royal castle.
Virion train Art.
Art comes home.
Art becomes an adventurer.
Art goes to Xyrus Academy.
And I'm clueless about how the story will continue.
I think there are no major deaths except Sylvia's.
I sigh mentally. Well, there is no need to be stressed at this young age. I just need to live my life as Alexander Leywin and see how my life will change for the better or worse.
Suddenly, mom and dad pick us up. Mom picked Art, who is lucky, and I'm with Dad. I don't hate him, but he's annoying! I know he's trying to be a good father, but he is damn excessive!
"Now! Let's go to sleep, Alex, Art!" Dad carries me to the bedroom as Art and mom follow quietly from behind.
