Chapter 4: Chapter four: Sunshine mixed with a little bit of hurricane
I FIND JANIS BUSY AND I let out a nervous breath. That guy is really something. I hand the orders to Hannah, Janis' mother who takes it beaming at me oblivious to my discomfort
Janis smiles at a customer paying the bill and I wait for her to finish. Hannah finally notices my grumpy face and offers me a cup of water. I take it graciously. When Janis finishes up she taps me on the shoulder "little miss sunshine had been all smiles until she returned from her trip what happened there?" She questions and I sweep my hand into my hair. Sunshine mixed with a little bit hurricane
I answer immediately "well he pretended we weren't in a shouting contest a few hours ago and his friend was hell-bent on flirting with me and oh! And there's his octopus-like girl who's about to swallow him up" she laughs at my grimacing expression and I walk back to a close table writing down new orders and pick ready ones. Oh-oh! Table number ten
Disguising my stiffness I walk to the aforementioned table. I bend slightly putting their meals on the wooden board.
I look Noah in the face for the first time and retrieve my previous pose. "Enjoy!" I muster an enthusiastic voice. Noah smiles kindly and I nod. I feel the girl glowering at me what the fuck?
Retracing my steps I make the wrong move and pain sears through my right ankle. I wince uncontrollably
What in the ever-loving hell?
I try to recover but find two firm arms steadying me I look up and curse my luck. His beautiful eyes twinkled with pure curiosity. I drop my eyes. The whiff of his mint-flavored breath dazed my senses.
I clear my thoughts and brush his hands away a look of hurt crossed his features for a second and he was back to showing boredom. He was the reason my legs hurts like a bitch I didn't need him playing a goodie when he mocked me a few hours ago. He raises an eyebrow "a thank you would suffice.." I groan and try not to shout at his audacity
"We're down this road again well weren't you the reason I'm hurt in the first place?" I say getting some people's attention
His friends were clueless like Kardashians without a camera crew
My inner self sighs at the awkward moment. I go back hardly maintaining my balance I find Janice hot on my heels she quickly says "did the bitch hurt you? I'm killing him now may his soul be cast forever in a nasty football-player's locker!" I catch her before going all hulk on him. "No I tripped over my feet can we please change positions? I can barely walk" she nods barely restraining herself and I try to calm her even more we shouldn't be wreaking havoc at the jam-packed dinner.
I stumble over the register and help customers pay. Occasionally I would rest and have Janis check on me. Clearing the queue Noah steps next and I smile at his hesitant figure "it's forty-eight dollars cash or credit card?" I actively say and he pulls out a grey credit card
I could feel kindness radiating from the guy he seemed like the playful carefree type of people and I pity him for being friends with the sarcastic jerk
He clears his throat his eyes apologetic and says "I see you and Elliot had already met" I already feel my face morphing into a scowl he continues "he could really be a pain in the ass but he's not as bad as it seems" why? could he be anymore jerkish? I nod my lips in a close-lipped smile he thanks me and walks away to his friends over the door. Elliot holds my eyes with his and I don't drop them this time taking in his devilish attire. a black hoodie and tight black jeans. His eyes don't leave mine until Noah throws an 'I hope your foot will be okay' through my way and I nod gratefully. The girl stomps her feet getting out and Elliot rolls his eyes following her. Noah waves his hand and he's out in a second. I could feel the next customer's annoyance and quickly work my fingers
My 6 hours shift ends and I undress from my apron Janis makes her way toward me holding a hot drink. I needed it.
"How is your ankle now?" She says fixing her glasses and handing me the drink. "I am fine now it doesn't hurt as bad thank you Janis" I smile gratefully and she grasps me in a hug "we girls should stick together life is too savage for a solo mission!" She quotes
"That Noah guy though he happens to be very very sexy the things I would do to that perfectly toned ass mphhh" she sweeps her hand in her honey-colored hair for dramatic effect and I clasp her mouth "shit do not finish that sentence!" I warn. She scoffs and frees her mouth from my grasp. She continues "I actually don't know how I managed to get aroused after all having my horny bf sucked out of me last night!" She leisurely complains and my face drops at her vulgar admission
With her mouth and May's around I always feel the need of running a holy water bath
I wave Janis goodbye and take a cab my foot still hasn't recovered. I text may on the way she says she's crashing down on someone's party tonight. She invites me but I decline. She wrote a capitalized 'die a virgin!' And quit the conversation.
She's savage but has a golden heart

I get out from the elevator and pull out my keys I trip over a foot almost landing on my face
