Chapter 10: Ollivanders, A Master Wand Maker

Albus and I arrive in Diagon Alley via Apparition. It's a spell I appreciate. I look around Diagon Alley from where we stand and see many people.
There are many kids around my age, and many more of them are getting their supplies for Hogwarts. I can see their excitement too. It's hard to hide said excitement when you become a witch or wizard.
I'm grateful to Albus that he's already procured everything for me, and all we need to do now is get me a wand.
"Ollivanders is a place every child remembers. My first time here was in 1892 when I got my first wand."
That was 99 years ago. Albus looks excellent for his age.
"Let's not waste any more time, shall we?"
We enter Ollivanders. No one is at the desk, and I hear the occasional crash from the back. I look to Albus, and he patiently waits.
After a minute or so, a man pops out from the back. Falling on many boxes.
"I'll need to get that fixed soon..."
He stands up and dusts himself off. He lifts his head and sees Albus.
"Albus! What brings you to Ollivanders?"
He walks up to the counter from the other side and sees me.
"Ahh, here to help a student get his first wand, I presume?"
Albus nods his head. They talk briefly, and Albus explains that he needs to handle something at Gringotts.
He leaves, and I'm left with the dodgy-eyed man.
"Let's get started, shall we?"
He immediately begins grabbing multiple boxes. He takes one out and hands it to me.
"Holly, Unicorn hair core, and 11 inches. Decent flexibility."
I grab hold of the wand, and nothing happens. I wave it at a stack of papers. That's when they crumple up and turn to dust. He rips it from my hand.
"Let's not continue that."
I have a feeling this is going to take a minute.

It's been over thirty minutes, and the shop is a mess now. The frustration on Ollivanders face is evident. He heads into the back and brings back an older-looking box.
"Maybe this will work."
He takes out the wand and hands it to me. As soon as I feel it touch my fingertips, a feeling spreads through me.
"Pine, Phoenix Feather core, 12 inches. Quality Flexibility."
I feel the power running throw my arm and take a deep breath.
"Seems we found your wand, Mr. Aevum."
This is what it's like to have a wand...
"Thank you, Mr. Ollivander."
He nods, and I turn around to leave the wand-making and selling shop. Once outside, I put my wand in my front pocket.
I look around Diagon Alley and see the number of people has slightly increased. I'm glad we came early. I start walking Diagon Alley's streets, and many stores are filled with kids. I make my way towards Gringotts since that's where Albus will be.
Many people are coming and going from the bank. I look around the massive interior as the magic makes the building look much bigger. I look around, but I don't see Albus anywhere. I walk up to one of the tellers. The goblin looks down at me with a slight sneer.
"How may we be of service?"
I ask him if he knows Albus's location, and he points me toward a door.
I'm met with a smaller version of the room I just came from, with wizards and witches sitting down and having personal conversations with goblins.
This must be where you talk about personal bank accounts or massive funds. Albus is a Headmaster. He probably has more accounts here than he does fingers. I see Albus in a private room at the end of the chamber.
I decide to sit in the waiting area; I don't want to intrude on his business.
Having an 11-year-old kid listening to the financial situation of Hogwarts or himself would be weird. I'll be able to start practicing magic on The Hogwarts Express. Until then, I'll have to wait. Sadly, I think Albus is going to take a while.
But that's fine. I've got time.
