Chapter 1: Prologue
Desmond had never felt such a failure in his life. Since his beloved wife Lauren and daughter Leona left this world by accident. Make this man drink alcohol every night in a small bar in New Avenue. A lot of sadness turns him into a drunkard. His once handsome face and alluring wavy hair turned into a dull face and unshaven beard. He tries to forget everything every time he raises his glass. On his table there was only rum, cigarettes on the ashtray and the last family photos he had left. Sad eyes stared at the faces of his beautiful wife and daughter who looked like her mother in everything. He mourned so much that he did not want to live on this earth any longer.
As he was immersed in sorrow. A tanned brown-haired girl walked in and sat in front of him. She was someone he had known a long time ago. And he knows who she is.
"Hey, Desmond. Long time no see." Amber greeted cautiously. She knew that her former teammates were drowning in sadness.
"What, Amber? How did you know I was here?" Desmond wasn't happy or shocked. On the other hand, he felt annoyed.
"There aren't a few places you've been to in the last few years." Amber continued to fold his arms cautiously.
"Look, I don't need any persuasion. My life is fuck up enough. I'd rather stay like this." Desmond cuts everything off.
"Um...I know you're sad. You love your wife and your daughter very much. It's hard for you to make up your mind. But don't forget that you belong to V.E.R.G.I.N and…"
"Shut up!" Desmond shouted angrily. "FUCK V.E.R.G.I.N! I don't want to hear this shit again! Go back, Amber." He picked up a cigarette and smoked it, trying to calm himself down. Now the people in the bar looked at him in confusion.
"Huh…" Amber felt embarrassed. "Desmond, listen. Team Wolf needs you. You probably don't know what's going on right now. But I need you. Josh, Istvan, Percy too. I know it's not right this time. But this is deadly. So please listen to me." She tried to persuade him.
Desmond was silent for a moment before smoking and drinking a beer. "Say it."
"Thank you. Do you still remember our hometown?"
"San Vallojse. I remember." He remembered it well. It was a city of dream and nightmare at the same time. He had not been there for a long time since the tragedy on his life.
"Now there is news of people in the city disappearing. And of course V.E.R.G.I.N has something to do with it."
"What else? The experimental creature disappeared from the laboratory?"
"Not really."
"So what is it?"
"An accident happened at the Red River Asylum."
"So?"
"That means it is a place of infestation. We have to get rid of it."
"How could it be like that?"
"As far as I know, it's there to test out V.E.R.G.I.N.'s new project. But now it is about to spread to the outside world. We can't let this go. Now V.E.R.G.I.N has coordinated with the Governor. We have to deal with this matter before it's too late."
"Really fuck!"
"So I need you. We need to finish this as quickly as possible."
Desmond pondered for a moment before he spoke. "when?"
"Tomorrow. Seven o'clock. I'll pick you up at your house."
"umm…"
"See you later and welcome back to the team."
